Anyone else with this half man-half female problem? (Shemale!!)

Whenever I log into nexus offline since some areas I go to usually do not have internet, I get this annoying as hell problem. I start SKSE skyrim and I enter my saved game. My female character has a male body... Her neck seam is black and below that is a mans body. When I do actions like swinging with my 1 hand katana, a male voice comes out. I have to disable all active plugins and mods and reinstall them like 10 times to get it to work again. Except this time, I can't get my female character body back. I am using UNP body. Only Boneash enb. Some creatures mods with lots of armor and clothes mods. Hair is different kinds like apacchi and new sims and such. Face i used sophia face because I am using lovergirl race. Planning on switching to SG race but they have been deleted off of the nexus. If anyone can please give me a download link for the sg race ( female) and help me with this problem, I will greatly appreciate it and forever idolize you. (Not kidding xD) I keep forgetting not to log in when there is no internet but I forgot today and now this problem occurs once again. Anyone else has this problem?

Thanks.

Edit: Since someone told me to give the picture, I might as well give a picture of the plugins. :)

This is yet the 1, 573, 257th reason NOT to use the crappy nexus mod manager.  Do yourself a HUGE favor and install Wrye Bash and use it instead.  Not only will you NOT have to worry about remembering to log in, you also won't have a shemale character, well...not unless you intentionally want one that is.  :P

The other thing you'll need to do is post your load order for use to see what plugins you have so folks can make recommendations to you.

No, it doesn't.

By the way, in NMM you can export the load order to a text file without having to take screen shots.  In the 'Plugins' tab, on the left side there are export and import buttons (the are very lightly colored) right below the green check mark (the "Enable All" button).

gregathit:

"Not only will you NOT have to worry about remembering to log in" - you are not required to log in anymore, or you can have it automatically log in if you want - not sure what the point is on this one.

"you also won't have a shemale character" - please explain how the NMM will turn your character into a shemale.  This would be fascinating...

I am guessing based on the shear number of mods that he is sporting, the issue is load order and compatibility between the plugins rather than the mod manager he is using, however I still would not touch the NMM with a 1,000 yard pole.

As to how he is already getting a shemale character....well, I am as interested as you in finding out how that is happening.

One thing that "could" be happening, is the NMM keeps "updating" a plugin of his and that could be causing the issue.  Since I haven't and won't ever use the NMM, I can't do much more than guess.

Haha. I am not sure either. And the screenshot tip thanks for that I did not know ^^ It seems you use NMM?Not sure if shemales have male bodies, I thought i was just male private parts. Oh well. I looked at boss and wyre and holy crap it looks hard. And do i have to move my skyrim outside of program files for wyre -_-i really feel like dying. Boss is great for cleaning up plug ins and such.

I searched the forums and no one has the same problem as me.. Hmmm.. maybe I should release this as a mod :) Actually, no. I must be crazy. -_- *Smacks self*  How in the world did i get a shemale character....-_-I will have to include that in title to be more specific.

I need to sleep now but hopefully I have more suggestions or replies ^^ Thanks for the two who commented right now. Greatly appreciate the suggestions. Load order, compatability, and crap nexus mod manager.

I only use NMM to adjust load order. I don't trust anything that installs the mods for me, including Steam though I will use it if I find a worthwhile mod on the workshop. However I do prefer to actually look at what I am putting into my Data folder, and have a back up of that. Basically Manual Install is imo the safest way to fly err... I mean install mods.

Here's a suggestion for the OP though. You use a lot of mods like me. When you use a lot of mods it's a good idea to back up your Data folder religiously. So in the off chance you run into a crazy problem that plops female heads on male bodies for the female gender or something, you can always just delete the problematic Data folder and replace it with the stable back-up.

I mean I've had all my playable races turn into children for no apparent reason, I've had meshes contort and stretch into incomprehensible blobs, I've had a lot of weird problems actually. But it's never game breaking since I tend to back up my Data folder every time I install what looks to be a large mod that's going to majorly alter the game. I also back it up every time I install over 15 mods no matter how small, just to be on the safe side, so if something goes wrong I will have only a minimum of 14 mods to re-install.

Also back up your saves as well. If you run into a problem that corrupts all your saves down the line, having a back up of your saved games can be a life saver. Just some friendly advice, from someone who also runs a ton of mods, 181 and counting now. ;)

-Once in a while, i plant a nuke into my entire skyrim folder. That is to wipe out everything and do a total reinstallation. I only do it if something massive got screwed up, or i want to install a big mod like tropical skyrim, since it basically replaces everything and conflicts with 99% of the environment mods. Also helps to clear unwanted plugins

-Use BOSS for NMM

132 mods doesn't seem like a lot.  The theorectical limit is 255, but based on we've learned from FONV, theory and practice on load count is 2 different things.  As far as NMM "keeps 'updating' a plugin", it doesn't.  Subscribing to a mod through Steam Workshop does, but NMM doesn't.  You have to choose to update, it does not do it automatically.  It will not even automatically download an update, all NMM does is let you know an update is available (if you are logged in).  Also, choosing to update with NMM really just deletes the old mod (removing all of it's related files) then installs the new mod, retaining the load order position of the replaced mod.  So far, the only benefit I've seen to the various "Wrye *ash" products is the ability to do a bashed patch, which is a really good benefit, but one I have found unneccessary (so far).

I definitely agree with you that you should always look at what you are putting in.  Always open the download and look at the structure.  However, I still use NMM to install the mod.  I have never had an issue with NMM installing something and having the game go nuts (unless the mod itself was bad).  The plus side is the if I uninstall the mod, it will revert any overwrites (mod b overwrites file X for mod A, uninstalling mod b resets the file to file X from mod A).  I believe Wrye *ash will do the same, but not sure.  And definitely a backup of the Data folder and saves is a good thing to do.  Also, exporting the load order from NMM or Wrye *ash, or copying the Skyrim preference folder from the user preferences in windows (where the current load order is actually stored) will help in resetting if you want to go back.

Basically, every time I start a new character (which I do quite often, getting bored with the current character or just not happy with it) I uninstall every mod, go through the data folder and remove pretty much every folder, then let steam verify the cache, then reinstall then mods I want to use with the new character (no vamp mods if not playing a vamp, no werewolf if not going to be a werewolf, no thieves guild...  well, you get the picture).  This gives me a clean base to work from.  And as mentioned by Cozy - if you want to return to this character, copy the entire data folder and saves, plus the skyrim preference folder/exporting load order from NMM/Wrye *ash.

pyrosushi - definitely download BOSS.  It's simple to use (download, install, run for Skyrim, done) and will give you a good starting order.  The unknown mods are really the only ones will really have to adjust by hand.  I think I have maybe 10+ mods not recognized out of 120+, and almost all of them are fine at the end of the load order.  Those that aren't can be move near related mods to test (and also check the mod description here or on Nexus to see if someone has suggested a load order location).  As far the Shemale thing (heh, heh), try removing SkyChildren - there are numerous reports how it replaces all npcs with children, so maybe it's gender swapping?  Again though, get the load order straightened out first, then test again and see if it repeats.

To gregathit, thanks for the link!

To Cozy, thank you so much for the tip! I personally agree with you except I am a noob at wyre bash and boss. But I shall back up my saves and data! :)

To mclerip, haha love the description :)

To srayesmanll, wow, thanks for the long description ^^ Ha ha. I guess sky children does mess it up. I will check on it. So far, i do not use skychildren and I only see the other children look different ^^ I am using boss now and I am watching Gopher's tutorails on cleaning. There are a lot of instructions. It is going to take me some time to understand and not mess up *_*

Thanks for the long reply. If you can, give me some tips or instructions on how to use boss. Currently, it shows I have 108 recognized, 49 unrecognized (Some were downloaded from chinese sites-Since they have great clothes mods and such), 25 inactive (Means I should delete them right?), and all 157. For plugin, I have 2 warnings, 1 error, and 43 in total. For skse, I just replaced the old one by overwriting. Is that ok thing to do? Because when I enter the game, my mods work fine but it says at the top corner "Skse scripts are mismatched. Please ....yada yada yada." I forgot. I think I have to rematch it? Thanks for the help. ^^ I will wait for your reply or if you do not have time, then I will understand ^^

The skychildren suggestion really is guesswork on my part.  It's based on several reports where NPCs are changed, but it may or may not be your particular issue.  However, if you are not playing as a child in the game, I would remove skychildren and use xvision instead.  xvision is the base mod the skychildren uses, but it's very basic - it only changes the look of the children (as the author puts it, "it makes the children not look like potatoes").  Xvision does have an option to make children as playable races, but it is optional.  Xvision is located here ( http://bagserk.blogspot.com/2012/05/xvision-children-skyrim-children.html ) - it's not on LL or Nexus.   Again if you are playing a child charater, skychildren is definitely more full featured.

As far as your BOSS results:  The 49 unrecognized ones are the ones you really have to adjust.  With clothing mods, there really shouldn't be much of a problem.  Usually they are fine unless they modify base objects in the game, which can then affect other mods (this is where most conflicts arise).  For the clothing mods, I would either leave them where they are, or move them near other clothing mods in your load order.  As a general rule, grouping unknown mods near mods of a similar type (clothing together, vamp mods together) works, but most of it is trial and error - if it causes an issue, move it.  Sorry I can't more specific, but it really depends up the inidividual mods.  As to the inactive ones, I would remove them rather than deactivate them.  One thing to note - if any of the deactivated ones are esms that are masters to active esp mods, Skyrim will still use them even though they are deactivated.  So if you actually remove the deactivated esm, you may get a crash on start up because you have an esp looking for it's master esm.

For the SKSE issue, make sure to copy the main files AND the scripts (sometimes people forget to copy the scripts for SKSE when updating it).  You should be able to drop the scripts folder from the SKSE download into the Data folder (just tell it to overwrite if it asks).

To srayesmanll, huge thanks for the description. I am fine with you not being more specific since I haven't uploaded the image of the boss plugins and such. It just shows i have a lot of dirty plugins. Oh, and I will delete the inactive ones and make sure they should be and not mess up my skyrim. For skse, thanks for the tip. Will retry again. Strange thing is, I can't cast any spells. 0_0 Man, I might have to reinstall skyrim xD I did not have a chance to back up my original since i installed it a long time ago. Thanks for giving me (the noob) pro tips. :) really appreciate it! Skychildren i deleted and thanks for the link. I was thinking the same thing that the children look....uh....well...just dull. ^^

To Uriel, thanks. Will try ^^

I have used complete loli and children of the sky both are the same thing just the first one is the oldest and I never had anything like this happen when using the race only thing I have seen was bleed over with hairs where bandits and other stuff were getting the hairs for the child race. I use NMM but mostly I use it to install the mods that I have manually downloaded. I did put a permanent halt on it's updates though back when they had that update that screwed up fnis. I first reverted back to the version right before it and have left it there at 0.44.2. and when it asks to update I yell hell no your not sticking anymore dang bells and whistles on this thing it's has enough and it's hard enough trying to figure out where the hell you decided to stick the mods I put into the NMM folder and the more shit you add to it the more shit your going to break.
