Annabelle P Posted July 26, 2020 Posted July 26, 2020 I've been looking hard for a more simplified way to create a follower and just run into the ancient tutorials. I feel like by now we should have something a bit more simple. Is there a way to use your preset files to work around skyrim's creation kit? I have like 12 presets atm and it would take forever to turn them all into npc's with those old methods. If there is maybe a short cut pls let me know. I simply don't have the time to do all of that. I have use familiar faces for years but recently it's been crashing my game so I can't use it anymore.

Yea that has been bugged since the beginning works for a bit but then fails.... rendering save files across different game saves works sorta but will eventual break your game. As for followers there is no short cuts a good bug free follower with an AI that works good takes time. One of the better videos perhaps even the best I have seen to help is this one she really takes her time and shows you just exactly what to do and how to do it. To really make it simple follow alone with her and you will have a follower in game in no time.

Just like we have familiar faces, that's a completely different way of making followers. If it can be done that way then there should definitely be more ways to create followers. I feel like if it's possible to even create the follower in the game it should be easier to make a simplified way of creating a follower outside the game. This CK stuff can be overwhelming at times. 5 hours ago, woodsman30 said: Yea that has been bugged since the beginning works for a bit but then fails.... rendering save files across different game saves works sorta but will eventual break your game. Especially when your grabbing specific hair, eyes and makeup. Then you need like two separate applications as well. I think that's ridiculous BUT if it's the only way then I guess i'll give it another try.
Grey Cloud Posted July 26, 2020 Posted July 26, 2020 So what you are saying is that you want someone to have somehow produced a method of making a follower which requires the minimum effort from you even though nothing about the game or the CK has changed to make this possible.

There are some creators that can do this really fast but they have also made a lot of followers so it is easy for them. sleppytigereyes has it down to a science as they have top notch followers but then again over 100 followers made so it would stand to reason they would. ats321 aka Hieroglyphics makes what I call next level followers the care that is put into their followers is astounding as does sleepytigereyes. so it depends if you want a a next level follower who is a start to finish follower who goes everywhere with you or one who you will never use Next level takes time but it pays off as you find it a pleasure to have them around as they are so trouble free.. But this is just my opinion.... Hope all works well for you perhaps we will see one of your followers in the future ?

What an unnecessarily obnoxious reply.. OP is simply asking if anyone knows of an easy way to create a follower without using the CK. It's a fair question.

All I really wan't is an npc with my preset on it so I can produce my videos with multiple characters like this video I made below... Really if I just have an npc with my preset on it, I can use other mods to control it and pose like you see in the video below. I don't even use these followers for regular play through's. They are just for the channel. Spoiler Thank you for the encouragement. I'll definitely consider making a follower mod if I even learn how to. I really just wan't to be able to make videos the way I wan't to with a bunch of members like the video i did above that I can no longer create. 2 hours ago, Grey Cloud said: So what you are saying is that you want someone to have somehow produced a method of making a follower which requires the minimum effort from you even though nothing about the game or the CK has changed to make this possible. I'm confused, I'm just looking for a simple way to go about this. I thought it would be doable because the author of Familiar faces made it possible. 2 hours ago, blaatand said: What an unnecessarily obnoxious reply.. JRCosta Posted July 26, 2020 Posted July 26, 2020 If the idea is just to have your player clone as a NPC, you can use console commands as a workaround. First bring your console up and type help "your character name", see the example assuming your character name is annabelle: help annabelle this will return a 8 number code, that is your player ID; to generate the NPC, type in console player.placeatme xxxxxxxx where xxxxxxxx is the ID Next, you must create the "follower" parameters to the NPC; close the console, face the player NPC, bring the console again, click in the NPC and type setrelationshiprank 14 3 and next type addfaction 5c84d 3 Close the console and talk to him/her; now the NPC should follow you

There's no point in doing that if I can't have my clone use a different preset than I.

I see, that leaves you with the NPC mod creation since you are unable to run Familiar Faces; there are plenty of tutorials around, and if you just need a couple of NPC I'm sure someone can help you with that. Regardless, the most efficient way to 100% reproduce your character is using your exact mod list meshes/textures, so to get the best results is to do it yourself.
