I've checked LOOT and Vortex Mod Manager to be sure that I have all the appropriate masters, and it still crashes. I would use the Papyrus Logs, but I'm actually an idiot, and can't figure out how to read them. I'm hoping ya'll can help me out. I'm running Classic Skyrim (Oldrim), with version 1.73 of SKSE and version 7.6 of the FNIS Behavior and the FNIS Creature pack. ENBoost (If you are using an ENB preset then you should already have this but it can be used without a preset).https://wiki.step-project.com/ENBoost Bethini (This will set your Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini files)https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69787 Load Game CTD Fix (Stops Infinite Loading Screen (ILS)https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/85443/ The above tools will sort out your memory management and stop 99% of CTDs. Deviously Enchanted Chests would be also a better solution and works together with DCL. Also stability fixes! CTD: like GC pointed out already, random CTD is often a sign that you run out of memory

ENBseries.ini contents from the latest Oldrim pack differ greatly from the ENBoost guide, some options absolutely missing. also the link in the guide was to an outdated version of ENB. is it safe/recommended to just add those in?

Try reading the ENBoost page carefully. You do not need ENBseries.ini. It is ENBlocal.ini that you need. It also says 'download the latest version'. The link it gives does not go directly to any version of enbseries so what you are looking at I don't know.
