Hey! Just introducing myself

Recommended Posts

Hi, simmers!

I've been playing sims 4 for a while now.  But after looking into sims 3, it sounds like it offers more of what I'm hoping for which is kinda a sandbox rpg experience but with more depth... Particularly with the addition of kinky world, in which I've settled on .375 as the version I'll be using for that.  My game will be hetero when I set it up.

I found great deals for origin installers on g2a.com, and will be installing them while following the steam guide a helpful user here (Iandess) posted.  I'll also be using Carl's sims 3 guide during setup.

So, this is basically a 'nothing but a hello' post from me, currently xD

I'll be looking forward, though, to chatting you all up about your ideas, experiences, and best practices... Along with sharing my own initial experiences and very likely my horrendous fuck-ups xD

Cheers!  And don't forget to grope responsibly;)

Thanks, and nice to meet you!  And thanks for being one of the powerhouse posters here.  Your info will CERTAINLY be of help to someone as new to this as me.

For Screenies, it's gonna be a while, LOL, I'm just now installing the base game only xD

Hello there.

Welcome to our neat little community. At the moment JoshQ, landess, Ladysmokes and non-sequitor are the big cheeses of our community. Never mind me I am just the one that pops up ever so often. I agree with your assessment that Sims 3 offer on whole more depth than Sims 4, except from socialising. I have the impression that you can give your sims more personality in Sims 4 around the emotion based socialising. Yet there is something irresitable with open world.

The open world is truly what I'm after,Rendas!

I'm slowly getting everything installed, or working towards that... Kind of wondering at some of the instructions to get Mike24's animations installed, though.  For instance, I don't know what 'carpet mod' means   ... Edit, nevermind, I've got it worked out... Sheesh, my bad!

Otherwise, things are going good... I've followed the excellent steam post that Iandess has posted here, and have gotten some of NRaas installed... Have not crashed when loading in to see how things are yet.  Though I have only been in CAS once so far as I usually go into the game, then exit before creating a Sim so I can keep installing.

Starting to look into the adult things so far... Just chugging along!

I appreciate the welcome!  Much thanks!  :)

Should we nickname you 'Morning Wood'?  :P

@merctime Curious if you spent anytime playing Age of Conan. I was involved for around 2+ years and the main guild was the 4 Winds. (For the uninitiated: This was the god Subotai prayed to from the 1st movie)

You know, I did, a long time ago.  I forget which server, but I was in a guild called .... Er.... Fuck.  Hehe.

I played a Conq named Caragar, primarily... But like most, had a stable of alts.  This was before 'world boss' nonsense, and when Khitai was HARD AS FUCK.  I didn't PvP much, but did a seige or two, and some skirmishing in Bori when my guild needed a heavy.

Nice shot on Subotai's god name!  My guild wasn't that into the lore, wether Howardian or Hollywoodian (lol), and I was pretty much the only guy on discord who knew shit about it xD

Damn, now, I wish I could recall the name of that guild... There were really cool people and I had a great time in it.  So many years ago now!  I'm not much of an MMO guy.  I only got into AoC because it was Conan, lol.

I'm a table top RPG'er too, primarily OLD TIMEY d&d, the TSR kind.  like, 1st Ed, or the 3 LBB, if any of that means anything to anyone.  Also, a recent 'retro clone' of AD&D named 'Astonishing Swordsmen and Sorcerors of Hyperborea' is one of my faves... Huge Conan vibes, along with Lovecraft and Ashton smith.  If you are a table top RPG'er and like that sorta shit, google it for sure!

Late to the party as usual... FASHIONABLY late, of course, as a princessa should be! ))) Welcome to the party @merctime! I have never played Sims 4, and from all I hear about it, I'm glad I did not waste money to get it.

No, I'm a princess! ))) Sometimes, a bitchy one! But, DEFINITELY not a "big cheese". I make some CC and try to help when I can... that's all. )))

Hey, it's good to meet ya'all :)

I'd have been posting and stuff, but I had a crazy install problem earlier I had to repair that set me back, lol.

So far, I'm enjoying the Sims 3.  Lots to learn about this game!  Fortunately, great players here that are quite free with good advice :)

In the process of developing my 'sunset valley' save... Got all my NRaas settings done, and my KW ones, and have a basically-done Sim chick... Now to edit the other townies/residents and whatnot, so that will take forever!

I doubt I'll be doing my 'Superheriones in Peril' idea I posted in my other thread here anytime soon, really, as there is so much for me to learn just to get off the ground with this game.  And I really would like to get the Landgraabs, Goths, and so on and so forth customized before I start 'actually playing'.

Fashionably late, to something you had absolutely no obligation to attend at all xD  Thanks for dropping by!  And thank you for all the lovely CC!

....Btw, you aren't missing A THING by not having the Sims 4.  It's... Fun, I admit, but the depth of it's features are simply non-existent.  Think of alllllll the things you can do in Sims 3.  Now, think of how FAR you can take each one.

That last sentence?  That's Sims 4's major failing... Each thing you can do, has next to no depth at all, and the difficulty level is terribly dumbed down to the point that a decent gamer can master a certain aspect (magic, a career, a skill) in around a day.  It just feels flat.

So, now I'm HERE.  Looking into Sims 3.  I've read, watched YouTubes, and have generally seen how deep you can go in this game, sex or not xD  And that's what I'm after.... Stuff where I can actually partake in a simulation, and ride that out as far as I want.

But, I suspect, this idea isn't anything new to any of you ;)

Have fun!

Bienvenido,

I am just a humble user, I liked the atmosphere of this forum, when at last I decided to ask something after many months of silently observing the answers, they have always been kind and helpful, and they also make magnificent CC.

As I said ,,, welcome :)

Thanks, Patriguz!  I have to agree with how helpful folks are around here.  It looks to me like there's a great little sims 3 community in this place :)

Reminds me of when I joined, years ago for Oblivion.  Those were good times!

Time to keep 'em truckin with Sims 3 ;)
