Hard disagree. The original had really bad dialogue, full of typos and poor punctuation, and the starting quest to actually build the mansion was ridiculously tedious. Not to mention it straight up didn't even consider the possibility that the player is male. It's incredibly easy and takes hardly any time at all to make dialogue for both genders, and the original mod creator couldn't was too lazy to do something as simple as that. This updated version may not have as much content, but the quality of it vastly outstrips the original. That's what makes it such a shame that it seems to be abandoned

Well I agree it could be better but we end up with nothing but the orginal everytime this happeneds. This remake has been attempted numerous times where everyone wants to remake everything which is a great goal but it has been abondoned every sing time so we still only have the orginal mod. Its a ton of work to remake everything, if the issues with the orginal mod gets fixed with maybe some dialouge adjustments here and there we would be better off if that actually gets done. Things like updating the crature models is a nice touch too.

This version's author is still active in this site. I guess they just got tired/burned on the rework and just dropped it without a word.

That seems to be the case for all versions of this mod, including this one. No idea why there is the idea that male characters must fuck the creatures; a very submissive male would certainly prefer to be mounted. Heck, I'm the Dragonborn, and tired of saving Tamriel's ass, first from a big dragon, then a mad and older Dragonborn, a crazy vampire lord, and some stupid Thalmor messing up with an orb in the College of Winterhold. I want to just be a bitch to some troll or chaurus for once.

 

But on a related note, the majority of the mods in this site are made for female characters, which starts getting a bit frustrating.

Gonna backtrack on that a bit. This version did account for a male player, but a few things were missed because of it. I would had preferred to be told that for some arbitrary reason male players needed to be mounted (patrons wanting to see dominant beasts, for example) and give them a  choice where if they were not willing to be mounted, then main mod quest ends at that point.

That's as far as the mod got. Nothing else follows that as it is incomplete and seems like it may remain so.

Which version of Animal mansion on SSE is the most “feature complete”? This one was nice but it’s unfinished. And the one that added the building component is buggy.

If someone is going to continue on improvng this mod, then need to make sure to look at all the quests are functioning, had issues with saber and the party quests after the main was done, I would even go so far as add an option to add creatures like rieklings.

When I went there that day to download, I got a message saying the files had been removed. I guess it was either a glitch or were reuploaded.

And I assumed the removal just made the discontinuation "official".

Glitch. It could not be resubmitted because the author had not logged in for some time.
