Is FO4 modding still active?

While searching for some fixes on the NAVI power armor i found a thread titled state of f04 modding is it dead? the last reply however was in 2017 and i didn't feel like necroing the thing. But is it dead? Alot of nexus drama seems to me to be killing people off. I found out while diving through forums the talented Niero (Creator of the cross mods) stopped modding for a year it seems. Leito hasn't been on LL for over a year and many forum posts i find are abandoned projects just getting necroed. I know Chesko has quit the F04 scene due to limitations he said.(Just a few authors dont crucify me for leaving some out) The engine for this game is much more stable then skyrim but is that still where people mod today?

I was just browsing nexusmod yesterday, bookmarking mods I want to use for when I reinstall Fallout 4. The modding community seems to be very active. Sounds like you're only talking about certain mods ?

Not A chance Nexus has over 100+ mods posted a aweek. I think we will be using bottle cap's before that happens (joke) . The thing that dose make it hard for modders is the fact there is no alternative to using 3Dmax for animation's ( you mite get away with using  3dmax 2015) but it's five years old and you can't get it as a student so it will cost something like $1400? (so I've read from people complaining). But there are loads of tut's about  Mod making Plus there are still some great mod's being developed and worked on.

I do see the 100's of mods posted a week but its hard to call many of them "mods" in the tradiontal sense (adding somthing good, not done before etc). Its mostly poorly done player housing, main menu replacers, pip boys, and looksmenu or bodyslide presets. There is the occasional gem but most are mediocre garbage or patch's.

To be honest, that question is pretty insulting.  Just take a look at the list of Fallout 4 mods on LL and their last update times.  Mod authors come and go, you can't judge a game's modding scene by whether a few big names are still active.

Trust me i take a look quite often hoping to find something new or an update to a larger mod (devious devices, but i know kimmy has issues with f04). There are a good number of quality mods updated frequently almost weekly, maybe 10-20 on LL. But most of the other essential or interesting projects are abandoned and never released or just not updated.

Then it sounds like you've already made up your mind, which makes me wonder why you posted this in the first place?

Try these playlist's of Nearly 100 video tut's  BY KingGath and Seddon4494 :

This is just some of the 100's of video tut's on YouTube, Also you can gain information about modding by watching the Skyrim tut's as well as it's basically The same Engine.
