Emily Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Please Tell emily how we should treat newbies and fresh bloods accordingly?
Ark of Truth Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 You treat them with respect at all times, if you can't do that then it is best not to say anything or refer them to someone else you can help them. As a mod author you have a responsibility to help those using or trying to use your mod. Just take them through step by step in PM (unless you want your mod thread flood) slowly. The rules in this case can be used to help you with this you can find them here. http://www.loverslab.com/topic/292-rules/ Just remember we all started as a noob somewhere in are modding/ gaming lives.
ChancellorKremlin Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Treat them as you would like to be treated.
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 As much as I like to argue with these two, I have to concur.
LordJerle Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 So I can't point and laugh? J/K. A lot of the deciding factor in whether I stay or not in forums or MMO's is how I'm treated when I'm new. I can take a joke at my expense, I even make some now and then, but there's joking, and there's being a dick.
Slammer64 Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I'm just glad that LoversLab is as tolerant as it is for everyone, Newb or not.
Jerbsinator Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 If you are talking about Loverlsab, then ya, treat everyone equally. If you are talking about Call of Duty, tell them how much sex you had with their mothers last night.
LordJerle Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I don't play CoD, as I lost all respect and enjoyment for the series after 4.
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I never enjoyed the series, no real innovation in the FPS genre, the whole genre has been rather flat for over a decade now. All they do is have better graphics/physics, but those are window dressing, a game can lack those and be quality. That said most genres of games are more about window dressing these days.
HentaiGnome Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Please Tell emily how we should treat newbies and fresh bloods accordingly? Remember that we all had to start from somewhere so it's only common sense that you should treat newbies fairly with as much patience and understanding as possible. You never know when this so-called "noob" may be able to help you out with something else in the future. EDIT: Of course, if the noob starts off by acting arrogant and/or bitchy, then use your own discretion to react accordingly.
Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Respect is earned, not given. So steal their lunch money until they stand up and say no. Then you give them a swirly.
Nepro Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 How you treat the people is how they come to treat you.
gregathit Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I meditated long and deeply, searching for answers to the very depths of my soul, and this is what I came up with: We should treat noobs like potatoes.
Jerbsinator Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I don't play CoD, as I lost all respect and enjoyment for the series after 4. Ya, I haven't played any of the modern warfare games (other than a couple hours of MW3). I can see the appeal but not why they keep releasing one every year. I'm interested in getting Black Ops 2 since it sounds like they actually did try to improve it instead of just adding a few maps, but like I said I don't want to get caught in this stupid COD craze, not that I would from one game but ya. Give me World War 2 Call of Duty any day, I wish they would go back to that.
Dude500X Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Noob and Newbie not same thing. Noobs should be beaten up.. especially when they steal my coal. Newbies however are just new people.
LordJerle Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I like to eat them, with a little ketchup, mustard, and A-1. Just tasty.
polluxval Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 the officers from the supreme army of grumpy cats would take care of that, so i dont really know. but i let the most talented ones to have a picture of me (their supreme commander all maker and only one grumpy cat).
Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Cat army, you say? A challenger appears!
Arcueid Brunestud Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Instead treat them wrongly, we can always use hoyoyo priest! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSZRAlSLQsk
