ID10T error. Sorry everyone.

Hello all!

 

I really like the Dragonstand house mod - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/14733?tab=posts but found that the game crashes with - as far as I can tell - every encounter mod. Well, I didn't try with every encounter mod but the ones I did try. I've done some testing and tried this with populated Hell edition - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73315 , with Genesis https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/96613 and even the classic populated series like populated lands and roads - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73186

 

It doesn't matter what load order is. If Dragonstand is enabled the game CTD with the above mods.

 

I've never really done a patch. I know I have to tinker in TESedit but outside of that I'm clueless.

I don't know what or why it's causing a CTD but I would like to make a patch to fix it? I don't know. I'm kind of loss in this and hoping that it can be done. Dragonstand is really my favorite house mod and I'm redoing my mod list for a new play through. I'd like to use an encounter mod but I suppose I have to choose.

A patch isn't a magic wand. You patch a particular thing. If you do not know what the cause of the problem is then you will have trouble patching it.

I can't imagine why a player home would conflict with mods which add NPCs. You could look at the Dragonstand mod in TESVEdit to see if there are any obvious conflicts with the other mods you mentioned.

The only place these mods even touch the same files is in the world space of tamriel The max height data. I can't imagine why that would cause an issue.

Nicely done.

 

Do you run Pop Lands or did you just drop in the esp to check this? I ask because I was using Pop Cities but I've decided try Pop Lands. The reason being that in Pop Cities all they do is clutter up the inns and streets whereas with Pop Lands they will be out and about and maybe get themselves killed so I can loot the bodies. :classic_smile: Clever eh?

I really appreciate and thank you for your time but it turns out that it's a PEBKAC ID10T error. On further testing and a combination of different mods my original assumption is completely incorrect.

 

There a strange combination with house mods that's causing the CTD.

 

I'm using:

 

unlimited bookshelves

realistic wooden mannequins

swamp home

hunters treehouse

sami hut

dragonstand

 

If I enable all the game CTD. If I disable the homes and enable Dragonstand it's fine. If I enable all but Dragonstand it's fine.... I don't know. :)

Just added the world height data to match the other mods.

The populated Cities I use is the BakaFactory version which includes an MCM to turn on each location individually.

Unfortunately it's still crashing. The modder closed it tonight after I brought it up with him for being very old. It's from 2012.

Does it crash if you disable one of these at a time?

I went through the line one at a time and Dragonstand enabled CTD. It seems to be either or. I don't want to impose on your time. I'm sure you looked at it just to figure out a puzzle.

Pretty much, and to try and be helpful. ?

 

But i am at my tether, there are no shared assets, no conflicting forms, these mods simply do not interact with each other on any level I can see. Maybe someone else will come along with more skillz, and figure it out. /shurg

You did help; though, and I appreciate it. Perhaps Dragonstand is too old; as I mentioned, it is from 2012. So, don't know.

I had a lot of issues with that one.

Can't tell if it was a conflict or me doing it wrong.

After multiple tries to have this one in LO and a stable game I gave up on UB ?
