gerra6 Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 Thanks for the quick reply!I dont want to change all females to futa' date='do you know what percentage is changed? [/quote'] Scratch my last two replies. I've gone ahead and written a script that will add a percentage chance for a female to receive a futa body. So here you go. Download it, drop the autosetbody.esp in your data folder and autosetbody.ini into your data/ini folder. By default, the chance of a non futa race female receiving a futa body is 0. To chance that, look for the following entry in the autosetbody.ini file ;FutaChance Chance that a Default female will be futa ;Default 0 set aaaAutoSetBodyQuest.FutaChance to 0 and set it to any number between 0 and 100. Here's what happens. There are currently 7 categories of NPC body styles. Any character that does not meet the criteria of categories 2 through 7 (defined in the ini file) is set to category 1 (default). When that happens, a number between 0 and 100 is rolled. If the number is less than FutaChance, the character will be given a body from category 7 (Futa), otherwise she will be given a body from category 1.
quasimodo75 Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 When I fire up my OB installation I get a message saying something like "OBSE script error, please see OBSE.log for details. As I have been messing around with various nif files for experimental body types I assumed this might have something to do with it, but after a complete new install of setbdy I still get the message.

An error here means that you probably cannot cast the setbody spell on male NPC's. Which version of OBSE are you running? This version of Setbody has been compiled with, and depends on, V.20 or higher. Anything earlier could result in some very nasty and unpredictable errors. As I have been messing around with various nif files for experimental body types I assumed this might have something to do with it' date=' but after a complete new install of setbdy I still get the message. The goal was to find a way to passably UV wrap futa with HGEC female textures. I'll make some more conversions once I get past the current backlog. I've sent a message to Stylex asking for permission to include those body styles in Setbody. If the answer is yes, they'll appear in the next big update.
Nepro Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Does the mod randomize different body meshes for female NPCs e.g. different female NPCs will have different cup sizes?
gerra6 Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 Does the mod randomize different body meshes for female NPCs e.g. different female NPCs will have different cup sizes? Yes. The mod has two components. Setbody adds a spell which you can cast on NPC's to set their body to any supported body type and combination. This allows you to individually control the body an NPC has. Autosetbody (optional) randomly assigns bodies to each and every NPC that you encounter. Different female NPC's will have different cup sizes, upper bodies, lower bodies, etc. At the moment, Autosetbody can assign ~3500 different combinations to females. At the moment, males will be randomly assigned one of only 16 bodies, although I plan to increase this number in the future. Autosetbody also has a number of customization options, detailed in the readme and on the fist page of this thread.

Still, console error spam worries me. Logged spam worries me even more. The menu system went through a major overhaul between 1.06 and 1.10. Upgrading from one release candidate to another without a clean save will result in some, generally harmless, console error spam. But if it is caused by a bad script somewhere then I need to track down the problem and fix it.

varenne Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I loaded a new clean character save, no errors. Reloaded current character that had the error, now no error via console. Tried a total reboot of Oblivion and both the new character and existing one, no error. Weird... I'll keep my eye out for it happening again, I'm in the console often enough. My guess is it is something being saved in the Save Game. I think what I'll do for future updates of existing characters is reset them back to original body, disable SetBody.esp, create a new save then upgrade to the latest version.

I suspect that my new menu system is not playing nice with this legacy menu script (although I don't see anything that should cause a problem). It was going to be rewritten anyways once I started adding additional male bodies. I might as well do it now. *edit* Done. This just a modified version of the RC 1.10 setbody esp. Please let me know if it resolves the console error spam. If it works, it will be incorporated into the RC 1.15 release, whenever I finally finish that beast.

You would be surprised how many times "problems" and "bugs" that affect basic functionality of mods are due to improper installation, compatibility problems, or load order. 9 times out of 10 it's people derping up (happens to everyone) rather than a problem with the mod itself, unless it's a well documented problem. I can't tell you how many times I've sat down for hours on end trying to help someone get a mod working, and them saying "this mod is bugged, it doesn't work!". Only to have them turn around and say "Oops, forgot to put this file in this folder, works perfectly nao! kthx bai!" Although I'm glad whatever needed fixing got fixed, eagerly awaiting v1.15.

[/quote'] It wasn't supposed to take this long, but real life, skinning bugs (I suspect a weird nifscript export bug), and a fair number of new bodies that needed quite a bit of TLC has caused quite the delay. It always worries me when the exact same sequence of actions on my end on the same mesh produce in one instance a beautifully functional mesh, and in another a mesh that absolutely refuses to use a normal map. I finally came up with a very ugly, very stupid, but absolutely reliable solution just a couple of days ago. (find a mesh that works, set the wonky mesh to use its material, join the bad mesh to the good mesh, export, reimport, delete the vertices from the working mesh, reexport, build skin partitions. Ugly.)

My best guess is, as I was being lazy and just overwrote the previous version ESP with the new one and didn't do my usual clean save process, and just went in-game with an existing character. I think it (this console error message) is localized to existing character saves that had a prior Setbody.esp and not new characters and new saves that never 'seen' a prior version.

I say 8 out of 10, I like to lend a hand when and where I can, especially when someone has undertaken a MOD like this one.

gerra6 Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 Great that's what we needed. I wonder if there's way to match the clothes to female NPC bra size... Yes, there are a bunch of ways to potentially do that. But none of them are easy. First, of course, you would need clothing/armor that has been converted to a wide variety of clothing styles so that you can create acceptable matches between body styles and clothing styles. Next, you would need to add a script to the clothing esp that can swap one mesh for another. Then you would need another function that is setbody reloaded aware and able to detect which body styles have been applied. Then, and this is the really fun part, you would need to have a massive array that tells your script which articles of clothing corresponds to which body style. Is is doable? Sure. But you're looking at a huge amount of work.

(I've tried but it takes a very long time that I haven't...) btw: I'm still searching for non-skimpy DMRA clothes/armor conversion of vanilla stuff, if someone knows anything about a link to this, please tell me! (I don't like the skimpy stuff for DMRA, I feel them not realist, I can't call a panty "armor"...)
