kingkong Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 It is not politics     But i wonder if a game in particular made you feel ill while playing .  and what solution did you take?  do not worry i am not a doctor just an imature gamer .  And it is the first time in my life i feel sick after half an hour of playing with falloutNV but when i first played with it long time ago i could play for two or three hours none stop.  i have no other solution than banning this game from my life.  if you felt sick with which game is or was it and what did you do?   Â
polluxval Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 everytime i felt sick while playing, i just go out, stretch my legs, wash my head with cold water and walk to the nearest store for a cup of coffe. if i still feel weird when playing then i take a bath and do something else. if its a particular game (RAGE makes me feel sick everytime i play it for more than 10 minutes) then i uninstall that crap and erase it from my hdd and also from my brain. no game is worth my health.
Veta Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I dont believe the game itself makes you sick , you happened to be sick , while playing a game ,maybe some bad frames contributed to your headache ( has happened to me) just rest and you should be fine.

ChancellorKremlin Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Never feel sick with gaming, just tired. Or bored of playing the same game over and over.  Reading a book or having a short nap usually fixes that!
Guest Lady Luck Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 lol reading book will make it worst trust me i tried it man , i got brain raped after that , worst habit on reading astrology >.>
leddis3 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I only remember one time I got really sick while gaming, this was when I still played World of Warcraft. Some light bulb at Blizzard decided that the Malygos fight needed a new flashy rainbow swirly effect during the flight phase. It made me extremely dizzy and nauseous, and the others I was with confirmed I wasn't the only one. I believe they removed that effect soon afterwards, though I didn't fancy trying again to make sure. Â Other than that, I have poor eyesight and often see double with things like white words on black backgrounds (gee, thanks Skyrim) which is disorienting, but nothing a small break can't solve.
Remy Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Hmm i played alot of Wow and before i left the game for good, i do felt sick, but not sick of it but really sick, tired...i remember there were times i felt i wanted to throw up while playing it and had to stop to take some fresh air....i think that was mainly because i played it too much. Â Something similar happened in skyrim when my eyes couldnt get used to the strange field of view and the sickly greenish vanila color palette.

Yeah they've been doing that green palette since Fallout 3 and I really don't like it. It doesn't make me sick but it's just wrong. Same reason I can't stand the Matrix movies visually.
GodSmack Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 eh you get used to it after  spend the whole day playing, only time i felt sick was around when i first played final fantasy dirge of Cerberus. it wasnt bad, infact i loved it so much i actually got over hyped and pasted out on the last boss, the most badass part of the game >.<
dboura Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 It sometimes happens to me, but mine comes from eyestrains. Occasionally, certain FPS, color mixtures, and/or blur effects can cause severe nausea when my eyes are straining do to lack of sleep. If the strain gets too bad, a migraine usually follows adding to the nausea.
kingkong Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 First Thank you  Second it is definitely not being tired especialy after half an hour of playing  I alway read books before playing because after playing my eyes looks like the cameleon eyes moving by themself on 180 °  And it is more like as "dboura" said the blur effects with a bad settings that my eyes can't stand .  I will reinstall the game again with better settings.  I still follow this topic to see if others have or had problems .
gregathit Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Different folks have different tolerances for sitting and staring at a computer screen. Some can go all day with no ill effects and others blow chunks after 1 hour (had a room mate back in college that had this problem). Those tolerances can be effected still further by the type of game (narrow corridors type games can exaggerate the issue).  Most of the stuff I have read over the years encourage you to play for no longer than 30 minutes, put the game on pause, get up and stretch your legs and walk around a bit (good time to hit the bathroom, grab a soda, kick the dog or whatever) for about 10-15 minutes and then resume gaming for another 30 minutes.  Rinse and repeat. If you feel a headache coming on then it is probably best to take an extended break and\or stop for the day.  Obviously this is not a medical diagnosis, nor is this this anything more than my personal observations over the course of 15 years of my gaming experience and reading about\watching others. Like any advice, filter it through your own personal experience lens and use what seems appropriate for you.
LordJerle Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Once. Â When I tried Pokemon. Â I started getting dizzy and nauseated, but then I turned it off and all was right with the world. Â
darkshot64 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I got sick while playing while playing Metroid Prime 3. I got lost and kept ending up in some room filled with smoke, for some reason I kept imagining the smell of cigarette smoke and that got me sick to my stomach. Went out for some fresh air for a bit and then jumped back in.
Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 If I spend several hours playing Homeworld, I get dizzy. I suppose my puny mortal brain cannot handle the sheer FUCK AWESOME of that game for long periods of time.
polluxval Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 im 29 years old and a couple of years ago i got smallpox (wich could be deadly at that age). the worst part is that i got the first symptoms (i felt like i was about to die) while playing TES4 Shivering Isles. now i cant play it anymore without feeling sick... (yea i know its ppsychological but im too lazy to fight it)

Emily Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 When someone forget to eat, drink, rest and visit the toilet. Â Awful thing start happening on the next day. Â God saves us all.
gamertech100 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Nearly passed out one time playing Indiana Jones and the fate of atlantis.
manam Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I can't play the first Borderlands for more than thirty minutes or so at a time without taking a break, the field of vision is too narrow and it makes me feel sick. When I played Planetside 2, one of the planes had a gun turret mounted on the bottom of the body. Sitting in that while it was flying and looking around would start to make me motion sick after a few minutes. Â As for New Vegas, it's interesting that you mention that game, as it and Fallout 3 both have very strong tints to the world colour. You might look in to Fellout if you haven't done it before, it's a mod that removes the tint, which might be bothering you now since you haven't played the game in a while.
AgentChicken Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Sometime's I ask for a Nuka Cola at the store when i play too much fallout XD. But Fallout has given me Head ache's and such before but that does not stop me from Shooting people in the face with a Rock-It Launcher
NalfeinDoUrden Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Only due to copious amounts of junk food.
Annkko Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I remember that playing Driver 3 (on pc) and Tony hawke's underground 2 (on gc) was making me vomiting after half an hour of playing, I guess it was from maybe a bad quality of the textures/visual from these 2 games...never happened on any other
