Mez558 Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Is this on an NPC? You only copied Meshes and not textures? I wouldn't call that a seam as much as two different types of textures

I wouldn't call that a seam as much as two different types of textures Yeah, really didn't touch textures at all. Guess I kinda got used to it/it wasn't as jarringly obvious as it is now. Any ideas on how to handle this?
Mez558 Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Is this on all the NPC's and your Character or just all the NPC's that aren't Bijin?

On all NPCs that aren't Bijin Edit - I tried running a fresh save after disabling all Bijin mods, but the neck seam problem was still there
Mez558 Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Do you have a custom skin installed? The face looks like a Pure or Fair skin variant but the body doesn't
Grey Cloud Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 That's a seam alright. What texture is it? Messing with meshes should affect textures like that.

bluebomber95 Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 I'm away from the computer now, but just so I kinda know what to do next, what happens after we pinpoint the problem-causing mod/issue? Reinstall that mod or remove entirely?

If you have a custom skin I would reinstall that, I don't know why it would happen but it looks like the Bijin body skin is now in your textures\actors\character\female folder.

Plan A is generally to re-install after re-reading and double-checking everything so you hopefully don't make the same mistake as you did first time around. Not that I've ever done that, of course. ? Plan B is uninstall ('remove' makes me nervous) but only after exhausting all other possibilities or as a temporary measure to rule out or sort out other issues.

You add three strings to cover any version of HDT so not only does it make a difference, it's what you should be doing in the first place. Open the head nif > add nistringS > Make sure the nistringS are attributed to the Havok Path > add all three PE xmls to the nif > put the nistringsdata at the top of the nif as the first attribute under the nif header > add the strings to head body hands and feet so that you never have to do this again no matter what other armor or mod or other bullshit you add to your game > the end

The only reason I said I didn't think it made any difference is because I made the mistake of adding NiStringsExtraData and it worked fine so never changed it. Have bounce and collision working fine in my game. Only time I've had an issue recently is when I made and error with an custom rance and was using the wrong head setting in Racemenu and it was using the default xml and not the one I wanted it to use Anyway, I'm not argueing that point. probably not going to change it as I have everything there working as I want. But... By default my body (UUNP+Vag) comes with only HDTVagina attached. Head with the default (manually added) but Hands with fingers and default. So you're saying it would be better to add all three to each part as you'd be coving all bases and it won't do any harm? (Feet haven't going anything attached currently, not sure I need anything there)

So, I had a look through my modlist, and I don't have a texture mod for skin, and I thought why not get one? I got the 'thePure' skin mod off Nexus. This is the end result. Same NPC as the first screenshot, but the seam isn't so screamingly obvious. Is this as good as it's gonna get, or something is still a bit iffy?
Grey Cloud Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Depends on several factors. Choice of texture, ENB/lighting, how obsessed you get looking for faults etc.

Note that it is not NiStringsExtraData. (don't think it makes much difference but do what he says) Right click NiStringExtraData on the block list, copy branch, right click on NiNode on select paste branch. Delete the original NiStringExtraData by right clicking > block > remove. Click on the new NiStringExtraData and use ctrl + up to shift it to the first line right after 0 NiNode. Go to block details after clicking on NiStringExtraData and click on the txt icon of Name. Type in HDT Havok Path. Now go to block details line 4, String Data and click the txt icon. Enter the path where you installed Bazinga's modified xml. (eg Data\SKSE\Plugins\hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml) Finally, Click Save As and overwrite the old .nif files. Alright, so for anyone that may still be wanting N-HDT and Bijin to work together, I may have some good news. So, like what Grey Cloud and Mez558 said, copying over N-HDT Bodyslide meshes and overwriting the Bijin meshes should make N-HDT work, at the cost of all the Bijin NPCs having the same body. For context, I tried that and it didn't work. What needs to be done is working the meshes with NifSkope. Note - I didn't follow the above guide entirely, and did the .nif changes to the femalebody_0 and femalebody_1 files. As the above guide says, you add the NiStringExtraData. But if you're like me, you already have one NiStringExtraData in there, in my case - hdtVagina.xml. Apparently, having two NiStringExtraData is a no-no. So, right click the NiStringExtraData for hdtVagina.xml > Block > Remove. And then, just make sure the only NiStringExtraData is the one for SKSE/Plugins/hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml Came across this epiphany when I reinstalled Naturalistic and in the install instructions was "3. You should check that there aren't any xmls attached to the female and male body meshes that aren't part of this xml set." If this works for you, awesome. TL;DR Only need one NiStringExtraData in the .nif, remove hdtVagina.xml NiStringExtraData from .nif file.
Mez558 Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 I have no idea why it works that way for you and completely different to me. my xml is a custom one created with JFF but I don't see that would make any difference. I'm thinking I might now attach it to the body as well and see what happens. Actually you could have more xml's attached, 27x explained that. Add the first one as NiStringsExtraData and following ones as NiStringExtraData but I have no idea what effect that would have, if any and if the install instructions said don't do it then it's always best to follow those.
