Spiffydragon Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 Elder Scrolls 6 is getting closer and closer, but I'm aloof on details for it. I have never made any mods before, I'm dusting off all my 3D software and getting it ready again. I'm hoping people actively involved in modding Skyrim and other Bethesda games have some insight as to what the pipeline will be for character creation. TMK, Bethesda is using an updated version of the Creation engine, laser scanning of IRL objects, but beyond that, I'm aloof as to the details. I'm pleased to see that Bad Dog finished KrittaKitty's Lykaios race mod. Thinking it was lost to Oblivion and the sorely lacking selection of high fidelity furry mods is most of what demanded I move into 3D art. I suppose any information on the subject of TES 6 modding can be dumped in here, unless there is a section for it that I'm not seeing. Although its still debatable if TES 6 will even be open to modding.
RohZima Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 Do you mean to discuss what we will potentially be able to do? Cause any more than that seems a bit presumptuous? As you say they use the same engine updated, so there will probably be the same formats, nif, dds, hkx etc. I think all you can say with any confidence is that you will be able to create custom models and textures. But then you would need to wait for the nifskope people to update that. As for animations there would again need to be a framework, like AAF for that. But you might be able to trigger single idles with console, hopefully, like in FO4. I have been thinking a bit about what type of mods I want to make for TES6 if it's even possible to make em.
Cock Sucker Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 Guaranteed though the game will need to have a unofficial patch lol

winny257 Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 the official E3 TES6 Trailer ran 0.37 seconds! and this Trailer just 0.36 seconds, but that should have looked like. Spoiler
FauxFurry Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 We should wait until the game is released to see what can be modded or can stand to be modded. Of course, trailers like the one Winny posted do help a bit with speculation if one is so inclined to speculate. If my eyes don't deceive me, there will be no need for gun mods, at the very least.
Spiffydragon Posted November 6, 2019 Author Posted November 6, 2019 My main interest is bringing additional furry races to the game, preferably playable. The more I read, the more it seems that modeling the characters and various hair styles, etc, is the easy part and fitting together all the technical puzzle of nuances is the difficult part.
MrEsturk Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 I want to get excited for ES6, but I just keep waiting for Bethesda to completely screw up the game's moddability. Most likely in the form of bottlenecking the ability to mod the game through a bunch of systems intended for their greedy asses to milk the modding scene for cash. I'll definitely be waiting a while after the game's release to see how everything plays out before I consider getting a copy. My faith in the western AAA game industry is at an all time low at the moment. Thankfully there are a number of indie and overseas game productions that have my attention for 2020.
