KoolHndLuke Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 A thread dedicated solely to those *perplexing* questions that don't fit neatly into any other category. Be they dumb, smart, long, short, involved, uninterested....etc. My question right now is has anyone else ever felt like a complete dumb-ass when they finally figure out something your friends found obvious (and laughed at you behind your back about)? I swear I feel like such a chump sometimes.....? Oh and why is there a "apply" and "ok" button for anything you do in a windows change? WTF?
Darkpig Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 Don't worry Luke I always laugh at you openly. I just do it silently because the rules say I can't be "a jerk."

Oh and why is there a "apply" and "ok" button for anything you do in a windows change? WTF? I cringe at myself all the time because I tend to rush into things before thinking about them, very impatient person, it's especially bad in video games where I'll end up dying to something stupid and obvious and get laughed at. Also OK usually closes the window, Apply changes the setting without closing it so you can see the results and make another change if necessary, like if a problem arose or you're not happy with the change. If it's important enough you might not be able to get back to that window if you've broken something so it's good to hit Apply before OK.

Well, damn....you explained that better than my college professor did. He didn't have a clue. And as far as rushing into things, I really can't relate since I'm usually pretty careful- when I'm sober that is.

Glad to help, it's something I asked myself a lot as well. I'm an insomniac so late at night when I can't sleep, but I don't have the energy to play a game or something I'll end up Googling miscellaneous things like this. It's how I learned what StickyKeys was for, and how to make it shut up permanently. xD

That's usually the case really. One of the reasons i left college, they padded the explanations so much it became more complicated than necessary. They also don't give a lot of practical information, i can't say how much this applies to your case but it was pretty bad in my case. Most of the information they gave wouldn't be of any benefit at all.

You're basically paying thousands of dollars for a sheet of paper that says nothing about you, your experience or your skill level.

I often think that college courses are a farce. Either they are stupidly easy or unnecessarily complicated like you say. You'd think they would have a more logical system of teaching things......and they don't.

Except that "sheet of paper" is your ticket to better paying jobs.....and they know that. The more certificates I earn, the more money I can make. The stupid thing is that those certificates aren't any indication of what I actually can do. I figure right now that I am more or less getting a crash course in my major.

Not a lot we can do but there's places you can go to get some sexy looking certifications and actually learn, like ALISON.com You can really fill up a resume with free lessons and certifications they give out.
KoolHndLuke Posted October 13, 2019 Author Posted October 13, 2019 WTF? "It's normal to feel attracted to both girls and boys when you're growing up. Find out about coming out, safer sex, and how to deal with bullying if it happens to you. During puberty, you have lots of emotions and sexual feelings. It's normal for girls to think about girls in a sexual way, and for boys to think about boys in a sexual way."- https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/sexual-health/am-i-gay-lesbian-or-bisexual/ I NEVER felt this way growing up. I was always attracted to the prettiest girls in my school. So was everyone other boy (and you can tell). It wasn't until I was in my very late teens/early 20's that I started to explore being bi. No wonder kids are fucked up now with this line of BS!
megamantaray Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 Hmmmm~ Dunno if appropriate cos this ain't the 18+ board exactly and I kinda answered this question myself BUT why are small boobs more sensitive than big ones? I ended up googling it, because it's one of those nights and it turns out I was wrong about them, not that smaller ones are more sensitive but the reason for it, I used to think big boobs have a lot more fat and surface area to them(duh, right?) and that would slow down and erase some of the the signals from your boob to your brain which makes smaller ones then seem more sensitive. Turns out that's not the case, it's the opposite. According to a study done in Vienna "The larger your boobs are, the more glandular tissue there is than fat tissue, and the latter is what accounts for the breast sensitivity that comes in handy during foreplay." So there's that. Should this even go here? The rant thread isn't quite appropriate for what this is. It's more inane rambling because I Googled something and it's 2:50am.
KoolHndLuke Posted October 13, 2019 Author Posted October 13, 2019 A friend was telling me about a six yr old boy that remembered a past life tonight. So.....wtf? I searched and found this.

AKM Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 I finally figured out the trick to studying some years ago. I go over something I'm studying right before bed, knowing full well that my brain will continue to work on the materiel while I sleep. That's nice, right? Until and unless I run into something that is bothering me, even when it's completely outside my control. Then I find that the something that shouldn't matter to me, as I have zero control of the matter suddenly wakes me up at ridiculous hours. After which I end up typing said stuff on forum 'A' as a way to get it the hell out of my brain (HA!) before going on to do something else to waste time as I know full well I'm not getting back to sleep as I'm now thinking about said stuff, and it most certainly won't bury itself now that it's back in the forefront of my brain. Sigh. What the fuck?
