It's called autonomy and it's unpredictable on what the game will decide is important or not to make sims do. Or it could be a combination of certain traits. Dastardly, Erratic, Evil, Hotheaded and Mean alone the traits don't do much depending on the sims mood and on well autonomy is running. But combine a couple of those on a sim and they can lash out for no reason especially if their in a bad mood. And autonomy can also play a big part in it. I've played the game for 4 yrs and since I make most of my own mods I've combed through every bit of the code so I know it very well thank you. If I'm misunderstanding what you mean I apologize. I think you know the game, it comes through the way you speak about it. skipping a little, and apologies for OT, I mistakenly believed a set of kinky mods I use from Yrsa Nisa and Azmodan might have influenced the way they act, But you're telling me the base game already does that, so thank you. As for the patch I just ran it. It disabled all my mods, and it'll take the rest of my day to tweak them back. I think.

You just go into options and check the box to enable custom content and mods. The game didn't remove anything (it always disables mods upon updates, it's a precaution precisely in the case that you are using outdated or broken mods) and it's highly unlikely this update broke anything.

They could still be partly responsible and sending things into "overdrive" if autonomy also kicks in high and the game pushes it hard.

Sometimes mods can lose their configuration and have settings reset back to default doesn't happen often but does happen. Seen it happen a couple of times.

I click the check mark to enable them and restart my game but it's unchecked when I open the game again and says all my mods are disabled. I removed all of my mods from the mods folder before I updated. That's how I've always done it and I never had this issue before. What could be doing this? Any help would be very appreciated.

Take your game folder from Documents>Electronic Arts (yes the whole thing) and move it your desktop then use Origin to repair your game sounds like the patch didn't apply correctly. Then move the game folder back to Documents and try again. You should actually remove your game folder from it's location before you patch your game. Patches can sometimes corrupt the game folder.

Damn I just tried that, it still does the same thing. Thank you for your help, i wouldn't have known to try that. Is there anything else I can try?

Is there anything else I can try? If you have UI Cheats try pulling that out first or update it https://www.patreon.com/weerbesu/overview If that doesn't work. Try a clean folder by pulling out Documents>Electronic Arts>The Sims 4 and moving that to the desktop and rename it. Start the Game an let regenerate a new folder and redo the Menu Settings and see if that works. If neither works then the Launcher is busted or you have another mod somewhere that alters the Main Menu UI or is trying to run it's script at the Main Menu and is breaking things.

Thank you! I did the clean folder method, and that seems to have worked. Luckily I had my game saved so I didn't loose that. Thank you for help, I really appreciate it!

DarkAudit Posted July 17, 2019 Author Posted July 17, 2019 Certain careers, including freelancer, broke with this patch. Looks like it's related to promotion. With a sim at the max job performance level, they weren't getting credit for a completed gig. Dropping the job performance level to midway, and the same sim successfully completes the gig. No need to go mod troubleshooting. I can make the bug appear at will.

New mod coming to public puts main screen back to normal as it was . in August patch loading screens going dark blue . EA should've left things alone as alot people not happy with new look .
