I'm checking the options i have atm. It looks like i have to completely redesign the watercooling loop and the prices for Bitspower went up again (as if they weren't already high enoughĀ ?). New tubing and some new fittings raise the required sum extremely fast... And i'm already at ~300€ for the fittings alone. On the other hand the quality is great, i got some here that are ~6-7 years old and they still look and function as if i bought them yesterday.

Ā

Switching over to Noctua fans (expensive but worth every single cent). Once you had some of them all others are just crap.?

Ā

Anyway. At the end of the month i can finally rebuild the system and then everything will run way smoother.

__________________________________________________

I cheated on the cooling. my cpu is using the gamerstorm captain 360 cooler (it actually came preinstalled in the case. AĀ Genome IIĀ with inwinĀ PolarisĀ fans. MoBo is a asusĀ Tuf Mark 2

with a i-7Ā 7740xĀ with gskill ram and 2 evgaĀ 1070xĀ in an sli config. i wanted to get into full water cooling but when i started adding the fittings, tubing (glass, petg, floppy flex hose, copper)Ā etc i was at almost 2k before any fluid or cool stuff i wanted to do, but next build i am going to get a little here, a little there and get everything i need for 2-3 full loops then build a new system. The current one is a red theme. Have not decided what i am going with next time (intel or AMD) or if i will simply get ram and a i-9 chip and new gpu and rebuild this one. i liked the genome case when i bought it but i am wanting to get a huge cube next time and go all out on stuff.. like actual bullet holes in it for a fallout theme and making it look weathered as hell and shot, and fought over (bloody hand prints) or an institute theme with white and yellow. or BOS theme. i have not even starting putting ideas to paper yet. I thought about a HD build for my wife using a genuine fuel tank. Or even a true medieval themed one where the case is actually hammered out like a set of armor (debating on this one as i don't know any blacksmiths locally) but i would want it made true to style. no machine screws (obvously mobo etc needs them, i just mean case) leather and iron and chain mail. i have ideas, but not alot of people around here that could actually make some of the components.

Why would you need to redo the entire loop? i can see redoing cpu to pump and cpu to rad due to movement of cpu location but res to rad and pump should be in the same place. Unless you are going with a new case or moving the locations of things anyway.Ā

Last time i ran out of tubing so i had to cut a few corners. Got some glass tubing (for testing), a bit PETG (same) and the rest is Acryl. It works but it is not what i usually do so it it the best time to straighten everything out (plus finally including the fillport of the case and a new pumpstand).Ā ?

Ā

In regard to fans there's almost no brand i havn't tested yet. For the price of one Noctua you usually get two, if not three, cheaper ones and the old color scheme was way to fugly. But are they really overpriced? They are giving the best airflow and lowest noise at the set RPM. Plus five years warranty on top of that. Way too often i had to replace a cheaper fan after a few monthe when they started to act up or developed the habit of becoming noisy. The Noctua i got here are getting to the point where they are actually cheaper… Right now i only got two fans from EKWB left (and those are noisy!) that will now be replaced.?

Ā

For an upgrade for the CPU you should take a close look at the prices of Ryzen now. The new generation is coming out and they significantly dropped the prices for the 'older' generations. A Ryzen 2600 (aka 6 cores and 12 threads @3.4 Ghz) for ~125€ is a very good deal.

Ā

Ā

For those who might want to upgrade without having to sell a kidney:

Combine that one with an MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC and some G.Skill Aegis and you got a very solid base for a gaming system.

Absolutely, i figure if i am ever going to go full custom loop it will be with copper or (shudder) brass except for the parts of the loop i want to actually see the fluid moving through and possibly use glass (i've seen to many vids of the plastic taking on coloring damage and i have a penchant for blood red fluidsĀ ?) But i still need to check on metals migration (i had a brain fart i meant Galvanic reaction) with brass and copper/nickle/aluminum to make sure i don't cause issues with using brass tubing for things like fill and drain tubes, rad to reservoir, or see what products i can use to mitigate the reaction.

The in-win fans i have are 3 years old now and are still quiet even at full speed (plus you can daisy chain them to groups. i.e. Front fans uses one fan header on the mobo, rad fans take another etc), the gpu makes more noise, and the CPU i have 2 options, i can go with just a chip and spread my current ram across the now usable slots by going with anything higher than 4 cores the 7800x is a 6core but it seemed it was lagging more on games than the 7740x or an i-9 series for 800+ usd (good possibility as i can dump that much more into a new gpu) or i can take months of hoarding my gold and buying a complete system and letting the kids fight over this oneĀ ?(it would be amusing to see as one is 19 and big but slow the other is 12 , and he's small and quick) And we have plenty of nerf guns in the house. It's still a long time out for me atm because it is just theory atm.

Sadly EVGA doesn't make mobo for amd (i like them because even on weekends their service department is open. i had a msi board brand new with a busted "southbridge" and they were closed. Evga answered the phones and suggested i try a different gpu to make sure the gpu i had wasn't the issue (how i started doing sli) 2 evga 760 gpu's.) but so far asus has been pretty good on boards, not to many horror stories or crashes i know of.Ā

It's still on the table on if i am going to go with rgb this time or a full blown blackout style where only one or two things barely have any light to them.Ā

May need to resurrect the white build i was looking at for my wife when she stole my strix board for hers because she absolutely had to have full rgb.?

Brass, Copper, Nickel and stainless steel will work fine. You won't have to worry about those. The big problem is always Aluminium. Even if they tell you that their 'special coating' will prevent this it is just BS and marketing (is there a difference? ?). Attach a fitting and you will damage the surface and then corrosion will start as the tiniest scratch is enough.Ā

Ā

Glass for tubing is something i wouldn't recommend. Sure, it looks nice but it breaks way too easily when you try to remove it from a fitting. Then it becomes a real PITA.

Ā

EVGA - thats a company where i like the products and i really wish they'd offer stuff for AMD. My next PSU will be from them (or Corsair) and, if one of my customers wants a video card with a chip from NVidia i usually recommend EVGA first.

Ā

Ā

If you really want into watercooling you should really check out these companies:

Aqua Computer - for pumps and monitoring (Their D5 is superb).

Watercool - for coolers and reservoirs with an incredible good quality (and an extensive list of spare parts to upgrade for new developments).

HardwareLabs or Bitspower (those are relabeled HardwareLabs) - for radiators.Ā

Barrow or Bitspower - for fittings (Barrows quality is just a tad below Bitspower but less expensive).

'Double Protect Ultra' - for cooling fluid (i've used it for years and absolutely no problems in a cleaned loop).

Ā

Mixed:

Koolance - coolers are OK, their fittings (especially the black ones) crap.

Primochill - Fittings OK, rest not so much. Last time i checked they sold (maybe still do) reservoirs with Aluminium in the loop.

Ā

AVOID at all costs:

Alphacool - lowest quality possible plus high prices. The cheapest stuff from China is usually better than their products.Ā ?

EKWB - totally overpriced. They were quite good but their standards for quality dropped a lot… And once you had something from Watercool you'll never ever use EKWB again (the CPU cooler weighs way more than a more expensive one from EKWB - and cools way better).Ā

Ā

Depending on what theme i was going with was the factor in glass tubing or not to be honest, you wouldn't see glass on chestplate in the 1100's (hence brass fittings, tubing, etc with only a small flow meter or something to show it's moving. The really sad part is i went window shopping and could replace almost everything i have with amd (board, chip, and an aio) for less than the cost of buying JUST an i-9 chip, but i am really debating on the whole blacksmith case. it would cost way more than i should spend. But it would also be the last case i buy. Honestly the whole loop will probably be full copper or brass with no aluminium at all. and glass while it is easily breakable while removing or installing they alsso make compression fittings that work as shut offĀ ValveĀ to make cleaning or draining a little easier, it would also open up the idea for possibly a steam/diesel punk case. I'll hafta sit down with a friend of mine and get the 5-6 cases in my head out and on paper. and then go shopping for everything. I honestly have not found a case i would want to even start with, and until i find an e-atx case that doesn't have half of it plastic to even start that the rest is just in my head.

@cloudmc

That one seems to fall into the category 'overkill' (same as apocalypse). I would not use myself so i won't add it to the list.

Ā

I'm almost finished with the last two tests. Right now i'm checking something for mages - then it's only squashing the last bug and finetuning.

Ā

Ā

@jaeos

If you use solid tubing then go with an uncolored fluid. In the long run that's the best choice. For metal tubing cut them to the right size, polish them up, and either nickleplate them or give them a thin coat of clear paint.

Yeah i'm looking around on websites looking at steel armor, so far i don't see anything in a style i want, but even then once I get it is too.. perfect. i want battle worn, damaged, not a princes 8th set of armor thats sat on a rack in the armoury for 40 years. so i may be going with a steampunk or dieselpunk or even atomic punk. rather than looking at a 500 euro chestplate thats just going to hold computer parts

If you want something special take a look at this site:Ā https://www.etsy.com/market/steampunk_keyboard

and this one: https://steampunkworkshop.com/keyboard-shtml/

Ā

They got a few things to spark ideas. ?

Ā

One day i'm going to build a complete system that got a steampunk theme. But that will be very timeconsuming and expensive... I might even have to build my own case for that (tubes instead of LED, analog gauges, a key to switch it on, etc).

I'm actually using a corsair strafe rgb so the mod tutorial would be handy and if done right i could keep the rgb effectsĀ ?

Yeah me and a friend were talking about it. i have an old (mid 80's) ibm server rack i'm thinking of using for the base and going diesel punk so it has a more industrial theme rather than elements from the victorian era. nixie tubes, use (very) well sealed glass tubing in some places for the aestheticĀ of oil or diesel being used as coolant etc. But i also don't want to edge into atomic punk with lcd displays, but voltmetersĀ and such would have been common.

Maybe. I don't have a set for VR so i can't test anything for it.

1. It's just a texture.

2. Thats why there's a 'Files' section. Just install the predone bodyslides... ?

3. Integrate it into MO2 and run it from there.

were you ever able to get sanguine debauchery working? I know you were testing it at one point, don't recall seeing you mentioning the results.

@Kythana how do I get Eager NPCs to use the correct animations? I tried saying I wanted my follower to ride me. But instead she slaps on the strap on and starts to ride him. I set the choices to when talking to males and force sex gender but it still doesn't seem to work for me. Any advice?

Back after a stressful sunday...

@asebw

I got it running but it has the same problem as 'Dibella Sisterhood' with the facegen. So i removed one from the list and decided against adding the other one.

Ā

Ā

@Hippeus

You'll need to recheck the settings in the MCM. I had the same problem in the beginning but i managed to fix it there somehow… Check out ist suupport thread it was mentioned there if i remember correctly.

@Kythanai watched a few people's benchmarks for the 3900x and the 2700x vs the 9900x and the 8700x and WOW. Amd is really starting to become a major threat to intel,Ā with the price point of 500.00 usd for the 3900xĀ vs theĀ 9900xĀ (the amd is half the price) you would expect it to fall behind more than it did on games, but the 3900x is either beating the snot out of the i-9 or it's just behind.Ā

You're right. ā˜ŗļø

Ā

And when in september the 16C/32T drops even the enthusiast and creator market will see a shift. In only two years they have then quadrupled the core count that is available for the normal users at a reasonable price. Even the small 3600, with 6C/12T priced at ~200€, is more than enough for most users now. At least here in Germany most of the sales for a new CPU go to AMD and they are highly recommended in the technical websites here.

Ā

They really managed to pull off a 'Phoenix from the ashes'. No one expected that they'd come back with such a bang.Ā ?

A Bang? more like the kool-aid man busting through the door screaming OH YEAH!!!!! Biggest gaps were in gaming for things like Rise of the Tomb Raider (intel won by a huge margin) and Photoshop (again intel won by a huge margin) but 2 different cpu stressess. Intel will run at a higher clock so it wins in photoshop (photoshop is frequency bound- higher clocks meansĀ it will perform better).

But as a overall price to performance standpoint AMD is definitely winning.

Updating Status to 'Release 1.3.8'.

This is almost the final build. So far there's one small bug left and more finetuning. I won't add more mods for now (imho this is the best foundation i can get atm). Then i'll work on a few 'advanced' things (aka modding/combining mods) and my recommended settings. But for those you'll have to do some things manually (and i hope to get the instructions right).Ā ?

Ā

There have been a few changes to the landscape so you'll have to rerun DynDOLOD (but this time it should be the last run) and QUASIP.
