AzraelSteel Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 So I have a fairly big skyrim load order, but it usually runs just fine. Got up today, my computer had rebooted after a windows update, log in, java update. Decide to launch skyrim, and it crashed at title card. Tried again, same result. Disabled mod plugins in MO (just dlc remaining and USLEEP) still crashed. Run skyrim through steam with no mod stuff at all, still crash. I don't know what's happening or even what to try next at this point. Probably should clarify, Windows 10.
D_ManXX2 Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 I remember when this happend to me not sure exactly what i did but it took me all day to get this game running again somehow it happend on fallout 4 and i lauched the F4SE without steam being loaded before hand. and this is what caused the bug to appear skyrim and fallout would refuse to lauch and either stick to black screen or instandly crash to desktop. What you can try: Turn off pc compaltely. Now when your pc boots launch Steam but this time make sure it is run admin rights. now navigate to either fallout 4 or in your case skyrim SE directory and right click on executible of SSe and make sure it too is set in admin mode and also try switching compatibility to either windows 7 or leave it blank. now try to launch your skyrim SSe with just the excutible if your game launches congrats you may have averted. if this does not work. make backup copies of your ini files and let skyrim SSE recreated then try the above again. Also you stated that it happened when windows did update did steam also update your game ?? if so you may also need to update the mods that uses Script Extender and SkyrimSSE Script extender itself to newer game version..
AzraelSteel Posted February 13, 2019 Author Posted February 13, 2019 I'd delete this thread now if I could, but I can't, sadly. I decided to go and do a bunch of normal computer troubleshooting while waiting, and after restarting Steam, verifying game cache, and updating my video drivers, Skyrim is running as it did yesterday. I appreciate the help, though. Just wish things didn't sometimes just break themselves, especially with Skyrim, since there are so many other ways the game can break as well.

Now, I've read the thread and realize that your problem began with a Windows 10 update, however, let me make sure I don't spin my wheels by asking for more information. 1) Do you have all the Skyrim memory tools? (ENBoost, Crash fixes, etc.) 2) Can you post a copy of your load order? Did you run LOOT on this? 3) Can you post your FNIS output (this is what is generated when you run FNIS - it should begin with a description of your skeleton and end with how many animations that your successfully loaded)? If all that checks out you would do well to look at this thread: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3089504-fix-for-skyrim-crashing-instantly-with-enb-on-windows-10/?p=56131491

You don't explain anything or add anything useful to the conversation that might make me less ignorant, you are just taking pot shots based on assumptions. 18 hours ago, Psalam said: Reveal hidden contents Now, I've read the thread and realize that your problem began with a Windows 10 update, however, let me make sure I don't spin my wheels by asking for more information. 1) Do you have all the Skyrim memory tools? Updating my drivers fixed the problem. Thank you for actually trying to be helpful, though.
