Deamionzero Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Just a quick question here. Dermot seems to become hostile once you remove the collar. Is there a way to avoid this, or does it just make him unapproachable? Thanks for any advice you can give ^.^
Yukashii Posted December 1, 2012 Author Posted December 1, 2012 Working as intended I'm afraid, after all that effort he went through to capture and enslave you he's not gonna let you walk off with a smile and a fond farewell.

[/quote'] Oh, I can definitely understand that. I'm mainly concerned whether I should keep a save off in another folder before I start the mod, just in case I want to try it again later on. Thanks!
amandul Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 I remember that on earlier versions, he tried to recapture you.
Yukashii Posted December 2, 2012 Author Posted December 2, 2012 As an oldschool RPG player, I suggest keeping a save just before starting any new quest/area, whether simply for replay, trying something different or in case some possible future updates add new things you want to try out. Similarly keeping a save from before you decide to escape is a good idea as well for pretty much the same reasons. While there are provisions in the mod to escape and be recaptured, for the most part I'd consider this a non-repeatable quest, once Dermot and Saint James have been dealt with one way or another there's no going back.

[/quote'] Recapture was basically was I was hoping for. But alas, it appears to not be so. No matter, not hard to keep a save off in another folder somewhere ^.^ Keep up the amazing work you guys are doing with these mods. I have to say they are quite impressive!
Yukashii Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 Recapture is possible as Dermot and/or Saint James are still alive, but I you'd need Brutalrapers to have a chance to be kidnapped when out in the world, and if you get in combat with Dermot can submit by holding crouch and have a chance to get recaptured that way. I'm not very familiar with either option though, since I don't use Brutalrapers due to possible interference with other mods and one time I tried the submit thing I ended up dead anyway. But give it a go if you like, and let us know if you run into any issues either way.

May not be for a few days though.
ChancellorKremlin Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I personally didn't like the recapture mechanic out in the world at large via BrutalRapers. Why would some random just go and sell you to Dermott? That would imply his operation is well known in the world, and I highly doubt the NCR wouldn't intervene in that case. What I do prefer is something like what Loogie implemented via the submit key, where Epstein automatically recaptures you and puts you back in the cell. Previously, Dermott would recapture you if you were either set to free, or had no slave collar on, or both. I think that wouldn't be too hard to implement, and wouldn't require any additional mods.
Deamionzero Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Ok, got to try a few things to see what worked. Added all the items needed for escape through the concsole, here were the results: 1st attempt: Removed the collar right away. This time Dermot not only didn't come for me, he wouldn't even do anything further than his standard dialogue. 2nd attempt: Waited for dermot to come and collect my earnings once. Escaped after that attempt, no hostility. 3rd attempt: tried escaping right away again. Then waited in the sewers without leaving for 5 days. Dermot never came to collect, and was not hostile when I left the sewers and spoke with him. My only guess is that he goes hostile if you remove the collar while he can actually see you. Either way, I did also notice that he doesn't place your ammo into the container with the rest of your gear. It's kept on his person. Hope that helps some. Let me know if you need any more testing done.
ChancellorKremlin Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 is this mod still alive? Seeing as it was updated only ten days ago, I would say yes. All it takes is to reap the OP.

zippy57 Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 See, this is why I write my dates on here out, like 1 December 2012. Because even if you know some people write DD/MM/YYYY and some write MM/DD/YYYY, you can't tell which format it's in unless the first number is higher than 12.

The other way seems just old fasshioned to me like saying 25minutes to 10 O'clock instead of just 10:35. I can't imagine the Army recoring time as 3017hrs instead of 1730hrs. To me it's all 9/11's fault, it used to be 11/9 that was the real conspiricy, to push confusion of dates across the world
ChancellorKremlin Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I also don't see the point of having your months before your days. An American thing I think.
zippy57 Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 It's like the imperial unit system: England used it, so their colonies used it. Eventually they switched format, but the US stuck with what they had. I'm from the US and I personally prefer DD/MM/YYYY.
ChancellorKremlin Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Good for you! Shall we meet in the middle? I hate driving on the left. Why, for once, can't the UK go with the rest of the world? Like with the metric system... don't even get me started on that one.
Miin Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Whats wrong with YYYY-MM-DD I dont think anyone can missinterpet that. 2012-12-13
ChancellorKremlin Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 That will only hold till the end of the year, which is only a few weeks away. Next year, 2013-06-01 could easily be interpreted as 6th of January, or the 1st of June...
windu190 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 That and some people use YYYY-DD-MM instead of YYYY-MM-DD. I prefer the latter, because it's a lot more logical. Going from Year to day (from large to small).

The point is that people get confused because Americans follow one system, and the world another. So when an American does something in the MM/DD/YY format, it confuses everybody, and vice versa. The point being, there should be a world-wise standardised system. Not to be biased, but I tend to follow time as seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years. Not " " " hours, months, days, " ", years.
