Thank you for the amazing mod!

 

I'm not the original author of this mod,
but I created a facial expression mod for some of the new characters.
It has only been tested on the DMM version.

If you are interested in creating your own facial expressions,
I think it's not that difficult.

For beginners in Blender, there's a helpful tutorial you can follow.

Parts 1 to 4 are sufficient for learning how to create facial expressions.

But there are some difficult points.
After importing models into Blender, you must merge meshes with "By Distance".

Otherwise, you cannot edit models proportionally as shown in the facial shapekey tutorial.
The imported models are not symmetrical, as in the facial shapekey tutorial.

Therefore, you need to move the edges of the face's left and right sides equally.

This can be done by selecting an edge and entering a move distance like "gz0.003" (grab z-axis 0.003) for both sides, instead of using the mouse.

To create the blush texture, you can use the free app "paint-dot-net".

When you dump character models (FrameAnalysis), you'll find one texture file for the face and another for the blush.

You can layer the blush texture onto the face texture, changing the Hue to make it pink or red.

Be aware that the blush texture of some characters may overlap unwanted areas like the nose or ear,

so you might need to erase these with an eraser tool.

It's easier to see if you add a black layer underneath.

Additionally, the tongue texture of some characters is dark,

so you may need to adjust the exposure or copy the tongue texture from other characters.

Remember to save the dds file as "BC7 (sRGB, DX 11+)".

Regarding the INI file:

You need to determine which facial parts (like teeth and tongue) should be grouped or assigned to which hash.
For some characters like Nanami, who have different hashes for face and tongue,
you only specify match_first_index.
However, for characters like Koharu who share the same hash for face and tongue,
you specify match_index_count for the tongue.
Also, some characters' face parts have different strides.
The 3DMigoto tutorial explains how to look up these values.

 

For creating icon images, I've attached a Python script.

If you're familiar with running Python scripts,

you can simply take screenshots of all facial expressions in order (including blush at the end) and use the script.

You'll need to install the "pillow" library, and the screenshots should be 1920x1080 and placed in the "./images/" directory.

I'm sorry if it's an effect of my modifications. 

If my ini file causes an anomaly in the character's mouth, I think it can be solved to some extent by pressing T.

(For example, blackening of the mouth, lower teeth showing more than necessary, etc.)

 

I could not confirm the issue of Elise's tongue turning black in my environment. Please forgive my lack of ability.

Originally Honoka's mouth was black too, so I think that is the influence.

the hash is be86dbf1 on steam for Elise. Only thing that won't change is the eyes.
