walkin Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Just wondering if anyone can steer me in the right direction. I have AAF installed and everything is working fine or appears to be. The problem is I can't or don't know how to call up the AAF menu I see in other threads to pick themes and so on. From what I read you are supposed to hit the home key to call up the menu but whenever I do that it just brings me to my desktop. It doesn't seem to respond to any inputs from my keyboard as far as the menu goes. The hotkeys work and of course calling up console commands(that I don't know how to use) but cant find the key to call up the AAF menu. From what Ive been reading and seeing it looks like Im missing quite a few options by not being able to use it. Does anybody know how to fix my inputs for my keyboard so when I hit the home key it calls up the AAF menu. Or a work around or different way to access the menu would be appreciated. Also I noticed threads making comments about the number pad and page up page down. My keyboard doesn't have a number pad, its a mouse scroll area instead. Is this gonna matter that it doesn't have a number pad. Thank you in advance.

Or AAF completely didn't work? 2) Always ask yourself: a) what version of Fallout 4 i have right now? b) what version of F4SE i install and will that version completely work with my version of the game c) what version of AAF i instal and will it works with my version of F4SE (cause i have CTD and i have need to download old version of AAF to work with my Fallout 4)

I don't have any errors animations work mcm can be configured no problem no crashes. I just cant access the aaf menu I keep hearing about. Where you can cycle through animations or pick an actor or stage anything. My keyboard doesn't have a number pad and when I push the home button (which is what I think I read youre supposed to use to call up aaf menu) it just goes to my desktop. that's the only problem im having with it.

Versions of AAF & F4Se are compatible? That can be problem too. But with changing keybindings of AAF: i can't help with that, only developer or coder can help. You can ask autor of mod at the Nexus site (if you don't do that before).

I don't need or want anything changed just help on how to use the AAF menu or wizard or whatever its called. I see it in the top right corner of peoples screen shots all the time. It has a little picture of a mans body and womans body and some text and shit. That's the menu Im asking about. How to access that. that's the only thing I cant do

So i again asking you to check your versions of plugins. Or at least disable ALL mods and then activate ONLY AAF. If AAF works when all other mods are disabled - that means one or more your mods conflict wits AAF scripts. Start from simple. P.S. we need MOAR misunderstandable
walkin Posted January 26, 2019 Author Posted January 26, 2019 thnx for responding and sorry for not explaining clearly. I don't know if I would call it crash but I guess it could be. When I press the home key it does go to my desktop but it doesn't close out my game. I can still click back on my game on the task bar and go right back into it without reloading.. Is this still considered crashing to desktop? If so thnnx for giving me a answer but if that's the case Im not gonna worry about it. I already pretty much had enough of fallout Lol. I already have well beyond 500+ hours on my xbox with it. I just mess around with this shit when I get bored. I couldn't be bothered to go through every mod at this point. It doesn't stop AAf from working so its not that big of a deal just thought there might be a easy fix. Like calling up the menu through console command or something.
walkin Posted January 26, 2019 Author Posted January 26, 2019 Just FYI so you know. Im not using 1000 mods. lol. I was only using aaf related mods unofficial patch cheat terminal and some looksmenu presets. That's about it.
Guest Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Imho, this has nothing to do with AAF but it's something "outside" the game, related to Windows or some program. Anyway if you want to rebind the Home key editing the file AAF_settings.xml inside the subfolder \AAF. You'll see there's a line mentioning the Home key, change that value using another value, there's a link with a table so you can find the wanted value

I looked in my settings just in case my keyboard was set up weird or something but I didn't see anything. The link you mentioned with the table for the value where would I find that or is it in the xml file once I open that. thnx. I also just wanted to ask you quick cause your the only one that knows what im trying to ask do you think its gonna matter that my keyboard doesn't have a number pad. You know for moving the bodies around and such

You probably want to ask it on AAF thread, or make your own thread, instead than derailing someone else's thread with something completely unrelated.

You know for moving the bodies around and such You can find the link inside the xml itself, you'll see it just above the key settings. To edit the xml, you can use any text editor, like Windows Notepad. Some keys are mapped on the numpad, but it shouldn't be so much essential. Mainly it's used to move the scene (both actors together)

From what ive been seeing most of the time its just because not enough attention was given to all the different options in all the fomods of the animation packs and patches and such you downloaded. All it takes is accidentally checking one box that doesn't jive with one thing or the other and bang you remain a virgin. nothing works. Id just try to start from scratch and pay close attention to every option ur checking and make sure you don't say you have something when you don't. If you do that you should be able to get rid of the errors. Just grab the absolute bare minimum make sure it works and add 1 mod at a time making sure it works everytime. It will make it easier to narrow down the problem if it happens again.

Usually at the very start after character customization, you get a pop-up that says its installed and working. For some reason I haven't been getting that pop-up and nothing happens when I press the home button. I've looked it up, went through the AAF wiki and nothing could help me.

zectoon Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 my keycodes are different from the keycodes that the AAF comes with. Can someone help me get the correct keycodes so i can operate AAF ? I'm using a MSi laptop, for my game I can't operate the menu controls so can somebody help me find the correct keycodes ?
