Colors (Believe it or not)

OK asking for anything looks dangerous...

So I'll relate an occurrence in the hope someone else saw it too.

 

1. I have six gigs of VRAM now, so on a hunch I dumped "ENBSERIES" and was pleasantly rewarded. Colors were more natural, etc.

1a. I downloaded (and updated) more mods than I can list, and all of them worked well.

 

but

 

My character's "bimbo" body turned blue today, SO....

I downloaded a skin mod with many requirements. At first, things looked peachy, until my main-character decided to turn mostly black, as if she were

wearing very dark triangles.

I pored over my skin-download, gave up and started a NEW game, and this fixed it.

I went back to the OLD game, and it was fixed Too!!

2. Some pink ballet boots turned shiny-black. They were pink before, and I had not fooled with any boot colors.

The MCM preview of the boots was also black. Hmm.

 

3. removing the boots, waiting a minute or so, and putting them back on, made them pink again.

 

So, summarizing, two separate issues with colors today. All seems well, but it's very creepy.

Is something dying? is a file (in a patched mod) corrupt?

 Memory monitors say I have way too much memory, and not to worry. I hope that's true.

Well, anyway, believe-it-or-not.

O. One more thing, ENB might be nice, I'm sure it is, but not using it, is that something people do?

I'm not sure yet. my skyrim works great without it, but do any mods *require* it?

ENB's are for screenshots most have them turned off till they want to take screenshots and others play with them on but it depends on the computer.

Turning black is a memory issue where you are running out of memory.

Well... i'm not sure how important it is anymore but if you have memory issues, i'd recommend to use at least ENBoost even if you don't use an ENB.

There's your problem right there.

1. If colours looked more natural without an ENB then you probably didn't have it set up correctly.

2. 'Dumping' ENBSeries is not how one removes an ENB. 'Dumping', whatever that actually means, is not a good way to remove anything.

3. Having 6Gb of VRAM means nothing to Skyrim if the game is not configured correctly.

No, mods do not require an ENB although some mods look better with one, e.g. weather mods.

Totally disagree with this. ENBs enhance the visuals of the game. Screen archers generally use different configurations for their shots and their general game play. Most people who have a machine which will handle an ENB use one. Some ENBs put more strain on your resources than do others and some require more setting up and configuration than others.

Just out of curiosity, which ENB were you using?

ENB's are hard on a computer especially the video cards but if you have money to throw away then I guess you can run the ENB's all the time I prefer not to kill mine and save some of that money for other things like more games.

 

The only ENB that I use now when it's turned on is a gloss ENB that glosses everything makes the players body really wet looking  glosses cave walls to make them looks more realistic.
