What are some of your favorites?

 

I'm looking around for inspiration as a new game developer. I have a few game projects in the making and would love some input in terms of what people like in those kinds of games or what the would like to see. After a while tapping over and over on visual novels gets old fast.

For me I'm usually not that interested in female protagonist games as they are usually the same old generic take girl around and get her raped and molested by every Tom Dick and ugly fat bastard type game. I'm also not interested in male characters in them only interested in other females and creatures. So I tend to ignore many of them.

RPG Maker has a good selection of games, and the engine is simple as well, examples include:

• Claire's Quest
• Cursed Armour
• Roundscape
• Virgin's Protection Magic

I quite like corruption mechanics, e.g. an innocent girl becoming a slut kind of thing, I also really like lesbian content and feel it's under-represented in NSFW games. I generally prefer 2d art over 3d models as the 3d models often look stiff, kind of out of place and awkward, though I understand that how dynamic the 3d models look is entirely down to the experience of the creator and the quality of the models.

This thread draws attention to the fact that I haven't really played many adults only games, likely what is meant here by NSFW. If it were just M-Rated games, then Saint's Row 2, Mass Effect, Conan Exiles, the Senran Kagura series and so forth would end up crowding out the more obscure entries on the list.

 

As for adults only games, I might have to say Amorous and Sakura Dungeon on account of the fact they are really the only two that I can recall liking at all for anything other than novelty value. The Rack 2 doesn't really qualify as a game, either.

 

What I want more of is actual gameplay befitting an entrant in the chosen genre. Adults Only shouldn't mean that one should lower one's standards. It is children who are easy to please, after all, not adults.

 I would say more intersexual/hermaphroditic characters (as seen in Amorous or Boobs Saga with the right potion)but they wouldn't really neatly fit into the female protagonist category. I'm not asking for the stars themselves, I just want something at least on par with Onechanbara.

This. I don't have that much experience with adult games (non-furry ones anyway) but from what little I've played, that theme seems to be freaking everywhere. In fact I was taking about it not long ago:

Not sure if Amorous would qualify here; while the player character/protagonist can identify as whatever they choose, AFAIK the "final" scenes and the character creation options force them into either having male genitals or no genitals at all.

 

And as for Rack 2, why wouldn't it qualify as a game? Last I heard it was still pretty early in development so it was pretty barebones and only actual supporters could get their hands on it yet anyway, but if development continues as planned (and it should, as Fek is supposed to be trustworthy) sounds like it will end up being an actual game as far I can tell (and with much more features and gameplay than some other so-called games I know).

It simply comes down to the basics of what a game is as in there are no real win or loss conditions (at least not in the builds that I played). If they are in place now then it would qualify.

Development has been continuing at a steady pace and the funding is still good, so it get there someday unlike other would-be games such as The Cathouse Tale (and I liked that project's look, too).

Most adult content in the USA is still being written as if it is a guilty pleasure acting as a release valve for all of those pent-up desires built up during a lifetime of sex negative thoughts. 

The viewer/reader/player is not only being treated like a sinner, degenerate or wrong-thinker of some stripe but they are assumed to 'know' what they are doing and seeing is disgusting and the dialogue is written to reflect it.

I only know what is freely available in the project's page and roadmap, but it sounds like it will have at least progression mechanics and "win" coditions or objectives, so I would certainly classify it as a "game", at least because other projects with much less interactability and "gameplay" are also designated as such. Just my two cents, though, and I won't know for sure until it goes into public beta and/or official release, so there's that.

Customisation, animation and fetish such as pregnancy, exhibition, domination, submission etc.

 

Unique combat is nice. I dislike game require too much grinding. Allow option to avoid combat would be best.

 

Recent I play R-nest's succelence is nice. It has costume and variety in gameplay. Combat is simple and you can use stealth to destruct enemies on map without engage. In particular I enjoy ability to mind control NPC for quick sex. Using defeated enemy in some area to recharge semen. Ability to offer submission by giving colar. Ability to contract with elder succubus and breaking contract has penalty. Game is not about making money. Game feature more mature woman, teacher.

This game has smaller influence over school. I wish there was greater influence like Hentai High School but two much difference in game.

there is MATM (Malise and the Machine) currently v6 is being worked on also with a side game called Pure onyx they still have a ways to go but from what I have played I been supporting it. on patreon just look up Eromancer or malise and the machine check it out. Its not complete and all that jazz but another game you might like is melty's quest little grindy but its simple.

I have to echo the sentiment that I'd like to see more loving, consensual sex in games, in particular for female protagonists. I also don't like the corruption mechanics prevalent in many of them. Sure, you become more experienced and better at sex by doing it a lot, but that doesn't automatically make you want to boink everything with a pulse... And becoming a nymphomaniac after getting raped many times is even more ridiculous. God forbid a woman is allowed to enjoy sex and not being a virgin in games without being shamed...

 

Rant aside, I do enjoy girl x monster scenes now and then. Could be a guilty pleasure for the protagonist rather than rape. My favourite is pregnancy mechanics for a female protagonist, especially when it's not a game over. As an example, I think Roundscape Adorevia has plenty of consensual scenes where your protagonist can do whatever they like whether you play male or female, a support structure to take care of any kids (it's nice having your own castle), it's all good fun. There's also a game on DLSite I like for similar reasons called Misty and the Tower of Paradise, where almost all of the protagonist's sex scenes are also happy consensual sex (although the other female cast are not so lucky) and the game also has a pregnancy system.

 

Long story short, whether your female protagonist is in a long-term monogamous relationship or having one-night stands with many people, I prefer to see more loving consensual sex where any dialogue reflects this.

This also why I enjoy rnest's succulence. I was surprise to see variety in style and the woman is not young virgin but have some experience. not become nymphomanic is part of gameplay and must balance sanity and lust. Girl can develop fetish of domination, submission and exhibition. No need focus on part you dislike too much. She more playful and casual lust sex than love but still better than constant rape and no brain girl. Moment in story that have short period of some event such as slaving but only small.

I'd say if you really wanted to add something not many other games have: besides having a pregnancy system with actual scripted kids and such, add a form of breastfeeding in there somewhere, and I dont mean like "character wakes up, if they have a kid add a single frame of them holding the kid to their chest, and thats it", i mean like a REAL mechanic (like adding in a text / paragraph detailing it all)

You rarely find females seducing from the off.  It's an odd thing, like sex is always enjoyable for the men, yet never something enjoyable for the women without 'help', unless they're something like some succubus or enemy character.  This, I suppose is understandable given they're the poor sods who take in fluids.  But....I dunno.

 

I accept, however, that I'm very weird at this point.  I am willing to go for 'Increasing Lust'.  Yet somehow mind control isn't right.  Mostly because stupidity isn't what I like.  Let them be sexy, sex loving, and in control, dammit.  Let men and women alike fall at their feet.

odd thing, yes. you're more likely to find one of the millions of games in which if the girl actually enjoys herself during sex, she is ousted as a slut right from the get go.
