Ezarr Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Could someone help me giving a golden appearance to a mesh? This one: Spoiler I can only painted yellow in photoshop but looks fake. It's just the front part, the metal part. Not the straps. Make it look similar to this other armor if possible: https://blog-imgs-114.fc2.com/e/i/h/eiheispot1/Charles_Rene_from_BDO_UNPB_2.jpg Here are the mesh and textures: files to upload.rar Or if you could link me a tutorial explaining how to do this, that would be great too.
anxietymafia Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 try this. may not be as deep gold as you want, lemme know. how to do it: changed the specular in the mesh to golden, increased environment mapping strength to get more metallic, changed the cubemap to the skyrim gold cubemap. this was all mesh editing rather than texture editing. edited.7z

SmedleyDButler Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Looks like your lighting/enb is very desaturated.

Use vanilla blankdetail map texture from male folder as an environment map with vanilla cubemap ore_gold_e.dds texture in nifskope and adjust in BSLightingShaderProperty - Lighting effect 2 flag to +\- 2.0 to crank the effect up. You can adjust Glossiness to 10\15 for metals.

I followed the instructions but not much difference: Spoiler Here with ENB off: Spoiler Under certain light it does look more like gold: Spoiler This are the settings I'm using in NifSkope: Spoiler Is it cause of my game settings or should I paint the textures too? (sorry for some reason I can't delete this image under this comment).
RomeoZero Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Ohh, I forgot about env map scale - its a param you need to tweak to higher settings,it controls environment cubemaps, light flag 1 - 0.4 (it is soft light shader\ subsurface scatter) Specular color prob should be a little bluish (0.85.0.95.1.0) not yellow, usually light photons reflect white-blue color on metal objects.
Ezarr Posted January 7, 2019 Author Posted January 7, 2019 Thanks guys, It looks like it was my ENB configuration that wasn't letting me see the color. Spoiler
