Darkening Demise Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 With all things being quiet and now them talking about stuff for October (since we got nothing for September). What could be on the horizon after Seasons, Jungle Adventure, Laundry Stuff, and the worst thing yet First Pet Stuff? Could we get Witches? New costumes for free? Spooky Stuff update? Werewolves? Toilet Stuff? Turns out Terrain Tools are coming (wow only after 4 freaking years a base game feature returns) and a new (crappy) career. There's more stuff coming though. But the patch is delayed. https://simsvip.com/2018/10/02/the-sims-4-october-patch-postponed/ More stuff coming next week.https://simsvip.com/2018/10/02/the-sims-4-special-announcement-early-next-week/
porkybork Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 Well, October's the month of Halloween, so it'd make sense if they released an update with more costumes or face paints. Maybe they'll also release a challenge the week of the holiday where you have to collect some novelty items to earn some special event-specific reward (jack-o-lantern sims?).
heartbeatsandbrainwaves Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 There's been speculation that the Sims team will be adding stuff for people who use wheelchairs and perhaps other mobility devices. I am hoping that it comes soon, for the people who want that representation. So I do not think the update will be halloween themed, but I hope for some halloween stuff too, although people getting representation is more important.

I have seen comments from some of the developers that say they are looking at doing disability type of things for the game. However, the impression I got was that they knew it had to be done right so they were still talking with disability groups and other similar people to make sure it was added to the game correctly. So I doubt it will be this update but will probably come some time next year.
Vengeance_11 Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 With the current trend of adding blatant money grab DLC (looking at you My First Pet Stuff), it'll be something that isn't wanted or needed but will be given to us anyways. My guess is something to beef up sales of Seasons.

weredeer Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Hopefully they dont combine halloween and disabilities. That would be a bit off-color in my opinion. In all seriousness, new traits or a new life state would be great. My bet is on witches just based on the time of year and that poll they did a ways back.

They gave us My First Pet, an overpriced stuff pack that serves literally no purpose but to bump up sales of the underperforming Pets.

Yeah lol. Just because it is released in October doesn't mean it's halloween related, but I can see why it might be taken that way. And disabilities are heavily stigmatised by being associated with horror and monsters. Also, EA took years to rename the 'insane' trait, so I understand not trusting them with sensitivity! EA has also had a CAS section for witches for ages. In Sims 4 Studio, it has been sitting there for years, so it would be cool for witches to be added! I am really interested in witch/wiccan/pagan subcultures irl, I would love to play a cute herbalist witch who sells kooky potions at their retail store.
Darkening Demise Posted October 2, 2018 Author Posted October 2, 2018 Patch delayed! Terrain Tools and new (crappy) career. https://simsvip.com/2018/10/02/the-sims-4-october-patch-postponed/
heartbeatsandbrainwaves Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 That career looks super cool, not crappy. Although several modders made several variations of it already, it is nice to see an official and definitive version. And I am excited for Terrain Tools.

We're on the same page. The real problem is no one will pay any attention and once it happens there will be 100 threads in Technical Support section saying my Wicked Whims has stopped working.

Darkening Demise Posted October 4, 2018 Author Posted October 4, 2018 Turns out Python is being upgraded for Sims 4 so expect ALL script mods to spaz out and stop working. https://simsvip.com/2018/10/03/the-sims-4-python-upgrade-coming-w-novembers-patch/
R-Lo Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 It's a potential nightmare but at least they're giving a heads up and adequate notice, Also it's a good sign that they are still upgrading the game itself and doing a bit more than throwing out lame stuff packs, Who knows, it may become a bit more stable in the process, or... Maybe they took note of a "certain" site and taken steps to lock "certain" game assets ?
Rattatonga Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 SimGurumodSquad posted a Zipfile containing the new code, so that modders can upgrade heads up. Just dont ask me were, I guess in the sims official forum.
porkybork Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 You know what I wish they brought back? Bonehilda. Like, we got a skeleton from Jungle Adventures, and Halloween is coming up soon, why not bring back an official Bonehilda? She's a spooky, scary, skeleton maid, what's not to like? C'mon guys, it makes so much fuckin' sense. Bring the skeleton from JA into the same house and watch 'em go to the Bone Zone. I'm very tired.
