Queen Bee Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 When I first heard this, I thought it was a joke. But it's true. Let the fan-splosion commence!
Smail Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 i just want the old star wars movies on 3D, and please disney dont touch anything about the script (LOL)
ChancellorKremlin Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Wow, really? This caused me the same amount of shock as when I heard Bethesda bought out ID. It's one of those acquisitions that you have to ask, really? Why on earth would either ID or Lucasfilm be in that sort of position, as in literally considering selling out? I don't so much mind the Disney acquisition though. Disney films tend to (for the most part) be quite good, and the first trilogy itself is living proof that even George Lucas himself is capable of screwing things up. Episode II was a fucking joke. I tend to think he is better at thinking up the universe anyway, and letting others actually write the story. So who knows? Maybe a good thing, script and screeplay wise. The problem as I see it is that they are going to milk a cow that is already running on fumes anyway. "We plan to release a film every 2-3 years." What kind of mentality is that? It's releasing a film for releasing a film's sake. No motivation otherwise whatsoever. This is exactly how to kill a franchise.
DoctaSax Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Well, it's merging for merging's sake too. In the end, we end up with just one MegaCorp & that's it. But hell, more Star Wars, why not. However much they screw it up, it can't be much worse than the rest of the crap coming out of Hollywood
gregathit Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 I would love to see some Disney Exec redo Star Wars Ep 1, 2 and 3 just to F with Lucas. I would keel over laughing!!
ChancellorKremlin Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 It would be even more hilarious if they were better. To be fair, I liked EP1 (minus a certain idiot) and EPIII is actually quite good. But EPII was just a waste. I would love to see some good storytelling set in the Old Republic though, there is definitely a lot of potential there, more so than the original trilogies, which are pretty self contained. I personally don't even see a need for 7, 8, 9. Lucas always said it was the story of a man and his redemption... it is good enough for me.

Emily Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 They have the advantages for making better star wars than Lucas. But the disrespectful notion given to the original can cause global nerd rage. Bad start.
Emily Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 This Oh yeah, That's bad. They'll put Starwars Heroes and villain on disney land. It Makes them looks like sissies. How about the other copyright on the different children Storybook titles that Disney adopted as movie. Peter pan, alice in wonderland, Beauty and the beast, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Christmas carol? Don't tell me they own it. i'd kill myself.

ivanchee00 Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 ... Now' date=' Where did i put my Scissor.[/color'] It's okay. I will talk to your parents about this. I understand. Now go, brother. Do what you have to
Queen Bee Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 Disney is basically a monopoly these days. Seriously, look up a list of what they own sometime, it's insane. Not that that automatically means anything Star Wars they put out would automatically suck. It's just annoying how much control Disney has today.
Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Get ready for the Jar Jar Binks show!
Queen Bee Posted November 2, 2012 Author Posted November 2, 2012 Actually, Boyfriend just pointed this out to me: this may open things up a bit in regards to the SW universe. Boba Fett spin off movie, anyone?
Captain Cobra Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 DEATH STAR CONFIRMED FOR FINAL LEVEL IN KINGDOM HEARTS III!
Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 I'll say this right now; I never really liked Boba Fett. I don't understand why he's so loved by everybody.
Emily Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Because mickey mouse sucks. Disney junior can't draw for nothing, he pinching others people creation into the castle. Can imagine what their starwars intro gonna looks like.
Queen Bee Posted November 2, 2012 Author Posted November 2, 2012 Oh god, fucking Kingdom Hearts. I'm a Final Fantasy fangirl (which stops at IX), so that series hurts my head.
