Hello, EgoBallistic,

Small Question - you posted your load order and I thought it was in this thread... it was in the area of discussing how yours is running, spawning raiders/SMs, …. with all the cross posting in all the various threads for the xml issues and which patch is right, old, etc, I am starting to lose track...

Would you re-post your load order please?

Thank you much.

Thank you Sir...

Just curious, have you had any success with Horizon with RSE yet?  I think you were the one saying you were doing it?

I apologize for that.  Horizon is a love hate thing...  I did notice you don't use the Unofficial Patch?  Do you have any thoughts on this?

John

Whoops - I do use the unofficial patch.  I must have cut off the top few ESMs when I copy/pasted from the other thread.  I edited the post above and added the missing files.

FWIW, I played without the UFO4P (or any other mods except a UI mod for my 2560x1080 monitor) on my first playthrough.  It played fine and I didn't notice any major bugs.  I have played with mods on all my later playthroughs and the UFO4P does fix some major things.  The biggest is the broken encounter system.  The game has a bug where eventually the only types of random encounters you will have are combat ones, so you will miss all kinds of fun content, wandering vendors for your settlements, etc.  UFO4P is worth installing if only for that IMO.  It's certainly not perfect and there are still a lot of little issues it doesn't fix (the Battle of Bunker Hill and its aftermath are a great example) but on the whole it is pretty necessary to get the most out of the game.

I agree, I have always run it.... looking at the changelogs, lots of fixes.... and one that has to be baked into a new game.. kind of hard not to use when one says don't load mods until after Codsworth… :)  but it works.

That was a feature built into Four-Play, not Violate.  As far as CaN, since those races use the human skeleton, you should be able to configure them to be treated as human by AAF, which will allow them to work in Violate.

Thank you for the info, but how would I go about making such adjustments? I'm afraid I'm not too familiar with the inner workings of these mods.

I would like help with this as well, any chance we can get a guide?

Great mod BTW

Can you link them to me because I have no idea of where to even look and i want AAF to work before I even get to what I really want.

Great mod BTW

There's an AAF patch for vulpine race here:

You could perhaps use that as an example to make other races work - although it would require a bit of work.  It seems like the race needs to be added into AAF_raceData_Fallout4.xml with a reference to esm source and form, as well as needing an actor type data file - in aforementioned patch that would be the AAF_actorTypeData_Vulpine.xml.

Nice mod, and works fine after some necessary fiddling with load orders and such (which largely seem to be issues spawning from the complexity and perhaps relative immaturity of AAF framework itself).

Here's a suggestion for future version: for DD integration, an option to set up timed locks on the restraints.

Right now, you kind of either have the means to get out of the restraints - or you don't.  Early game, then can essentially lock you out of game, if you get a set of wrist/gag restraints - or if you get an access to key, the whole thing becomes more or less trivial.  Of course it's possible to just disable the wrist and mouth restraints, but even ankle cuffs can become a bit too harsh if you have no means to escape them in foreseeable future.  On the other hand disabling all of the above, kind of defeats the purpose of the whole thing.

Having an option to set the restraints for timed locks (appears to be an option on DD mod), would be a nice alternative - perhaps MCM option to make the restraints lock for X in-game hours, before they open, maybe with a selection of making them possible to open by key / timed / both (in latter case both the key and timer would have to open to release the restraints).

... also, if it's up to AAF Violate to control it, would be nice to have an option to limit the "per-encounter" number of restraints you can "acquire".

@polly @raffles5 @reikiri I looked at the CaN mod and I see the issue.  Those races use an actual different "race" record, they aren't just modified humans.  Violate checks the race record of each NPC it handles to verify they are eligible.

However, all of those races have the "actorTypeHuman" keyword.  I can make Violate check actorType keywords instead of Race records and it should work the same.

Attached is a patched version of the main Violate script.  Copy it into your Fallout 4\Data\Scripts folder and let it overwrite the one from the mod.  This implements the keyword check and should let the CaN races work with it.  Let me know if this fixes the problem, if so I will add this change to the next release.

DD can be really frustrating, for sure.  The problem is that it isn't really integrated into the world - it would be great if there were a way to get companions to help you, or certain types of vendors could unlock them for you, etc.  But nobody has really done anything like that.

What I do is use Rogg DD Items Manager to prevent some of the more annoying ones, and limit it to lower quality stuff like wrist ropes and makeshift slave cuffs and such.  Then it is possible to escape them if you have a knife - it's not guaranteed but it is much more likely to succeed than struggling or lockpicking.

Timed locks could be done, as the DD front page states, but that would mean making custom devices just for Violate.  There isn't a way to make the existing devices use a timer.

It would be possible to make Violate limit the number of devices, but you can do the same thing with Rogg DD Items Manager.  The manager tries to equip one random DD item from each category, using the allowed items and the item chances that you configure in MCM.

Alrighty so I installed AAF Savage Cabbage, Mutated Lust, Atomic Lust, AAF SEU AAF Violate ect.

This beginning to get frustrating as load after load something is missing or the animations dont work becuase something is missing despite it being in the Data folder.

Whats worse is now it says AAF Error 10 FM Chair Cowgirl

is missing now. This is beyond an issue because the game is making too many excuses to not work.

The FM-Chair01-01Cowgirl error is happening because some XML file in your AAF folder is looking for the old version of SavageCabbage's animationData XML.  That particular animation no longer exists in the new version of SC's pack.

Make sure you have the very latest version of SC - download it again to be sure, as he re-uploaded it to correct an error in his positions file that could lead to that error.

I downloaded Savage Cabbages files all 3 and installed the full one and FO mod perhaps there is a file for me to delete?

Also I get FPP Report cant find DCC

I am still getting the FM Error 34 with the feral ghouls and female and every other race. After reinstalling everything else.

Is there discord of a live chat i can get my hands on because I have been back and forth with this gme since 12am.

Another update I tried the animations raw through AAF and they indeed do work

So why does violate do this when i press the surrender button also my character turned pink tho.

Companions would be an option, but would also have their own share of issues.  Early game all you have is dogmeat, and even with other companions, it wouldn't make much sense for most of them to be able to open institution / vault-tec security devices without a key (although suppose they could be helpful with arm bindings).  And beyond that it would fall back to same problem the keys have - either it's (virtually) impossible, or it becomes trivial.  Although, of course companions could be on a timer too.

I could limit the devices into low quality ones (and actually did as a temporary measure at least), but that cuts on the visual versatility - not to mention I think the higher end stuff does look .. prettier.

I had hoped it would be as simple as scripting a new effect into the existing devices.. creating all new ones feels like it would largely defeat the purpose of having the devices on existing mod in the first place.  On the other hand it means I could probably just alter the existing mod, or create my own patch for it, I guess I'll need to have a look at FO4 modding afterall. ?

If I understood the device limiting correctly, the only way to use RDD to limit the maximum number, would be to fully disable some categories - which wouldn't be a good solution.  What I was looking for, was a limit to put on arm binder -or- plug -or- blindfold -or- corset, instead of on a bad day getting instantly tagged with 5 different devices.  But it does sound like it's something to suggest as an addition to RDD rather than AAFV.

Thanks for answers, and for the very useful mod. ?

There's an AAF patch for vulpine race here:

You could perhaps use that as an example to make other races work - although it would require a bit of work.  It seems like the race needs to be added into AAF_raceData_Fallout4.xml with a reference to esm source and form, as well as needing an actor type data file - in aforementioned patch that would be the AAF_actorTypeData_Vulpine.xml.

Thanks, I'll see if I can work with this.

Timed locks could be done, as the DD front page states, but that would mean making custom devices just for Violate.  There isn't a way to make the existing devices use a timer.

About this, it's been a (too) long time since I did any major papyrus writing, so I'm pretty rusty with things.. was it possible to directly set properties of object script from another mod through papyrus?

The DD items currently use the properties:

Key Property DeviceKey Auto Const                        ; Key needed to unlock the device. If left empty, the device can be removed without a key.

Float Property LockShieldTimerMin = 3.0 Auto            ; If this number is greater than zero, the player has to wait for a minimum of this many hours before she can unlock the device with a key.
Float Property LockShieldTimerMax = 7.0 Auto            ; If this number is greater than zero, the player has to wait for a maximum of this many hours before she can unlock the device with a key.

and a function

Function SetLockShield()
    If (LockShieldTimerMin > 0.0) && (LockShieldTimerMin <= LockShieldTimerMax)
        LockShieldTimer = ((Utility.RandomFloat(LockShieldTimerMin, LockShieldTimerMax)) * CalculateDifficultyModifier(False))
    Else
        LockShieldTimer = 0.0
    EndIf
EndFunction

In the FPV_OnHit, you're equiping the items with

        while _i > 0
            _i = _i - 1
            EdVar[1] = _forms[_i] as armor
            bool _result = DDLibs.CallFunction("EquipDevice", EdVar) as bool
        endWhile

If you pointed at them as DD devices instead of armor, would you be able to set the lock timer min/max, possibly set key to null, and then call the SetLockShield on them?  Or would this require adding the set* functions into the DD script in order to manipulate the variables?

I haven't set up FO4 creation kit / script compiling environment, so can't simply test this myself.

-- edit --

ah.. key seems to be const, so I'd assume at least that can't be changed - which kind of makes the rest of it less useful, although suppose if timer worked you could always just console the keys, and then ignore them.  (And either way, at least I should be able to make a personal mod for this by simply doing a few changes to that particular DD script, just need to set up the compiling environment.)

-- edit2 --

> removed references to DeviceKey from script

> changed SetLockShield to work based on function of lockpick difficulty

> profit

So tweaking the DD restraint script directly, getting it to work like I wanted was relatively simple, but I think it would still make for really nice option for the mod (with an added function in DD itself if necessary).

FPV_OnHit.pex

Didn't see this post until now. I tried it and it works great, for npc:s anyway. I still have some issues with some creatures but that seems to be a problem with the animation packs

Thanks for the help.

If the animations are working through the wizard but not in Violate then the issue is tags.  You either need to turn off "Use tags" in the Violate MCM, or install the AAF Themes that tag those animations as "Aggressive".

No idea why your character would turn pink, there isn't anything in Violate that could cause that.
