Remove any Leveled List Entries that reference "slmcEncGSDog", which is the German Shepherd Dog base. The Remove option will show up when right-clicking to the right of the Leveled List Entry in the right panel. For those using zEdit, you may need to expand each list entry to see the reference, but you should delete the whole entry, not just clear the reference field. If you need this to work in a current save, disable the SLMC plugin after editing it, make a new save in-game, then re-enable it. I was hoping I wouldn't have to remove this from the mod - that one extra model increased the dog variety by 50%. But without a legal distribution of the files, it seems that's going to be the only option going forward. it's specifically disable and then re-enable not uninstall and re-install?

Yes, just disable the plugin before saving again, then re-enable it before loading that save. All that's doing is resetting the spawns to clear the invisible GSD instances.

Also, I had a look through my computer and I found that I have a copy of Hentai creatures V1.04 do you want me to attach it to a post so you can maybe see if you can get the GSD textures from it?

If you have the old HC version with the GSD, then you can just install it and skip the modifications to SLMC. It should work even without making the clean save without SLMC. The main problem with sharing the mod is that I have no idea what licence it was released under. So we have to assume it's a default copyright. That means no reuploading without the explicit permission of the author. The reason the models and textures are not included in SLMC is because I work strictly with open source licences, and preferably GPL-compatible ones, so even permission is not enough without an actual open licence to back it up.

I had a look through the files and all I could see was iron collar in the meshes and textures folders I've never made a mod so I don't really know which folders I should be looking in to see if the mod has the models and textures

You're looking for version 1.4, or thereabouts.

There should be three GSD leveled list entries in slmcLvlDogDomestic, slmcLvlDogFancy and slmcLvlDogStray. Is it possible that you’ve deleted the slmcEncGSDog "Dog" [NPC_:0500C4F6] entry from the Non-Player Character section? If so, this may cause instability due to broken references. In that case, I would roll back to the clean save (with SLMC disabled) and try again. The entries should be deleted from the right panel here: Just right-click to the right of that last "Leveled List Entry" row and select "Remove". The invisible GSD spawns will then be replaced with regular Irish Wolfhounds and Huskies. The actual animal is selected randomly when it first spawns and after resetting the spawn (30 in-game days or so).

I've added SexLab More Creatures SE v1.02 - Non-Essential Respawning No GSD.7z to the downloads. This has the German Shepherd Dog spawns removed. If you are using this in an existing game that already has SLMC, make sure to uninstall SLMC, create a new save without it, install the new version, then reload that save.

Thank you for making this, out of curiosity if the problem with the GSD's was lack of textures why did you not get some from another mod (with permissions of course) or get someone to make them for you?

If you know of any suitable creature model mods with a GPL-compatible licences, I'd be interested. There are potential solutions involving new dependencies in order to make use of mod assets without redistributing them. But given how much trouble has been caused by having just Hentai Creatures as a requirement, I'm reluctant to go that route.

If they have to ask permission of the authors of these mods before they do it, it's not open source any more. This is the GPLv3 licence, it's quite accessible. There is also a list of GPL-compatible licences. It's not really okay to ask a creator to release their work under an open licences out-of-the-blue. This is something they need to come to themselves (though it would help a lot if modding sites like Nexus ans LL offered such licences as options in the permissions). In all likelihood, if this mod ever includes additional modded creatures in future, it will be as a dependency, just like Hentai Creatures.

Sailing Rebel Posted January 8, 2025 Author Posted January 8, 2025 2 hours ago, bob112 said: so it's not just as simple as copying the husky and put some German Shepard textures on it? Textures are bound to the UV mapping of the model. Custom models like the GSD require matching custom textures. Applying a mismatched texture would likely result in distorted/stretched and untextured regions.

Serenity_XXI Posted January 16, 2025 Posted January 16, 2025 Hey, I tried uninstalling the old version (v1.02), but when attempting to load my save right after I got the infinite loading screen. I even tried cleaning the save with ReResaver, manually cleaning the entries of SexLab More Creatures.esp from my save, but it didn't help. Still stuck on infinite loading screen. Only option was to reinstall the mod to get my game to load. Is there a trick to uninstalling this mod without bricking your save?

When you load in, open the escape menu and try to load the save from there. If there is still an issue, reinstall the mod, load the last save. Find a small interior cell with no creatures, then make a new save there and try again. The general advice is not to uninstall mods mid-game because it can lead to save corruption and instability. If you are just temporarily disabling the plugin to reset the spawns, then it should be fine. 1

DoroLL Posted February 22, 2025 Posted February 22, 2025 (edited) Hello. Dogs (wolves) and horses are not enough. Goat, elk, deer, fox, rabbit, these are animals that can be tamed, Actually, Children are pet fox and rabbit and Rieklings are tamed the boars. It would not be strange if NPCs tamed bears and horkers. It would not be strange if draugr and daedra in Winterhold's underground. ps. The Winking Skeever name comes from the pet Skeever. If I were doing this today, there would certainly be a greater range of races and more done in exterior cells. Alas, a do-over is not on the schedule right now. I just don't have the time and the experience was too frustrating. But this mod is released under an open licence, so if you want to use it as a base for a more up-to-date version, please do.

Frodner in Riverwood is stuck, Maybe you mod are overriding his dog? (Stump). Incidentally, I'm translating right now Animal Research into japanese, but it's a lot text and not even half done. Non english players need a simple mod. If you could open a Zoo somewhere, I would be very happy. https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/35297-animal-research-the-insatiable-scholar/

This is more likely to be a bugged instance of the vanilla good/bad dog NPC dialogue quest scene, DialogueGenericSceneDog01. Sometimes it stalls, and the actors get stuck in it. You can use Simple No More Stupid Dog to prevent the scene from playing at all. But I'm not sure how this will affect the game if the scene is already running in a save when the mod is added - probably not at all. If that's not it, then More Informative Console might be able to tell you more about the AI packages attached to those actors and their source (although later versions of MIC have been a bit flaky for me, showing incomplete and desynced info).
