Unfortunately I'm not a OC user myself so I can't offer any real advice on conversion. I think it might be best to clearly identify what is going wrong with the conversion script and see you can find related issues in the support thread for the tool.

A bunch of the dogs are invisible. I have the latest version of both more nasty critters and hentai creatures enabled. As far as I can tell, only the huskies are visible.

Sounds like it might be an issue with the installation of MNC, perhaps corrupt or missing meshes. Check the integrity of the mod archive to make sure it's complete. Track down the individual dog model files to make sure they are installed in the right place - in MO2 use the Data tab and check for Data/meshes/MoreNastyCritters/canine/Dog.nif and DogHard.nif etc.

The only things needed are the GSD models and textures from Hentai Creatures which is still available from the link in the description. So long as those files are at the same location it really doesn't matter where they come from - they could even be for an entirely different dog breed so long as the file names and paths match.

 

Just install HC or any mod that has those files now and you are good to go.

 

If you don't want to deal with that then there are instructions towards the start of this support thread on using xEdit to remove the GSD form the leveled lists entirely (you will need to make a clean save to avoid breaking the spawns).

 

Missing Creature Framework usually indicates installation issues - non SE version, corrupt download, manual installation, NMM, etc. CTD in SE like this often indicates the game is trying to load incompatible assets, usually models that are either not converted to SE or not converted properly.

So I am having an invisible dog problem too.  It seems to just be one specific type of dog as the others seem to be rendering properly.  They still function normally, I just can't see them and it is kind of funny watching my character interact with seemingly nothing, but I'd prefer to be able to see it of course.  As far as I can tell everything is where it is supposed to be with the meshes and textures, although I could be wrong.  I've noticed that in the CK DLC1HuskyBareCompanionRace is the only one that will not render a preview in the CK, but that cold be normal.  I don't know.  I just find it strange that just the one dog type is not rendering.   Could it be that they left out the Judah dog when they combined MNC and Hentai Creatures?  Which ever dog it is one of them spawns in front of the Fletcher shop in solitude.  I'm afraid my CK skills are practically nonexistent so I don't know how to look up which one that is.

Spawns are from leveled lists so it won't be the same breed of dog in the same location for everyone.

 

The most likely culprit is the GSD model which requires Hentai Creatures to be installed. The ESP does not need to be enabled but the files need to be available. Having said that the HC summon spells are the easiest way to test creature models, animations and compatibility so even if you don;t use it in gameplay it hand to have in the load order.

 

If you are using MO2 check the Data tab for Meshes/hentaicreatures/Shepherd.nif which should be provided by the Hentai Creatures mod.

The thing is Hentai Creatures does not seem to exist anymore on its own.  Followng your own link takes you to More Nasty Creatures Special Edition 12.6 which supposedly includes Hentai Creatures functions, although I'm not getting any summoning spells, unless I have to find them somewhere in the game world and I don't know where they are.  I am considering doing a clean install and starting over due to other problems I've been encountering that seem to be related to either MNC or SLAC.  (Namely SLAC not acknowledging most of or none of MNC's animations.)

Honestly, I do understand the confusion and the frustration. It would be my preference to just include the NIFs for the sake of simplicity but I'm committed to open source so in the absence of assets with appropriate licences it's not going to happen.

 

One of the reasons I've not come back to update this mod in so long is that frustration. I would really like to boost the number of breeds for dogs and horses and maybe other included creatures. There are certainly lots of options provided from other mods, I even have a list that would add ten or twelve new dog types to liven things up, and probably as many horse textures. But none of them provide genuine open licenses so it's not going to happen. Can you imagine what this support thread would look like if users had to install twelve plus requirements instead of just the one?

 

The bottom line: if you make mods then make them open source, GPL, MIT, even CC. It means more and better mods for everyone.

Out of curiosity, is there a chance for a side version, with fewer or more reasonably placed creatures? In particular no horses(That's a proper invasion at this point) and the rest placed in more discreet locations and away from doors and quest NPCs, or from vendors and so on.

 

The doors thing is quite important since various mods like SLAC and DEC tend to trigger far more often when crossing a door. An example would be the two guard Huskies placed in front of WhiteRun's main doors- I've come to dread that transition scene with either of the two mods installed, it's almost guaranteed enslavement or pounce before loading is even finished. Very annoying.

 

As for discretion, I personally find it too weird that citizens don't mind or don't react to sex scenes(And I find it really disturbing when it happens in front of younger NPCs so I just cancel out to the main menu). Just put creatures farther from NPCs' social hot spots and fixed patrol routes and it should alleviate this by a lot.

 

Regarding them not being close to quest NPCs and vendors, I think it's best so that dialogues ETC don't get interrupted at all.

xEdit is the tool for making broad changes to the MC creature spawns. You can delete entire cells from the mod to clear cities and interiors. The spawn IDs are clearly labelled based on species so you can, for example, go through all the city cells and remove the horses pretty quickly. From the sounds of it removal of the entire city cells will alleviate 90% of the frustrations you're facing.

 

The increased risk of engagement is the entire point of More Creatures. It is designed to have a lot of creatures because it is intended to be customisable via xEdit and adding spawns is far more difficult for the end-user than removing them.

 

You could make some configuration changes in SLAC, increase the arousal thresholds and reduce the engage radius, which will limit the opportunities for auto-engagement. There is also the option to simply block auto engagement inside cities for the PC and/or NPCs.

 

The discretion thing is a tricky one. On the one hand this has nothing to do with creatures specifically and other users may be more interested in public sex and generally more disorganised conduct (it impossible to please everyone which is why this mod is designed to be edited). On the other I am thinking about adding support in SLAC for optional markers to indicate private areas or hiding spots that will take engaged actors out of the way of busy areas to some degree (no time line on that feature yet).

 

Actual NPC reactions to public sex is better suited to a third-party mod since presumably we would want this for all sex acts not just those involving creatures. In fact I seem to recall there were mods that specifically dealt with public sex as a crime and that supported groups forming to watch, but I don't recall their names off the top of my head. As for kids there was a mod for LE that replaced them all with talking dogs (can't say I was a fan). I have a mod on the back-burner to permanently remove all the vanilla kids and re-link their related quests to progress automatically without them, but damned if I can find the time to actually get it done.

 

The GSD aroused model issue could be something up with Creature Framework, might try the troubleshooting options for that.

If that's in response to the doors thing, it's also other mods like DEC as mentioned. Configuring all mods specifically for certain places(And doors for cell transition are quite common ;3) is really not practical... Because then I'd have to configure them again when I know I won't be crossing a cell via a door. Not sure if it makes sense, the way I describe it. It'd be far more practical to just move them away from cell crossings so to speak, IMHO. Your suggestion below is also very interesting.

As for the last paragraph, well, the children thing was just an example to drive home the point that there were just too many creatures in too many areas. Your above idea which I quoted, would probably take care of this in conjunction with users reducing the amount of creatures through editing. I do hate Skyrim's children and their weird looks, but I wouldn't want to remove them completely, from where they make sense IE quest lines or dialogues.

Amazing mod, not only for loverslab shaenigans, but for immersion too, sadly it kinda messes with Jk's Skyrim, (some creature placements en up covered with stuff from Jk's Skyrim and they end up walking infinitely trying to get to their spot). Would be awesome if there was a compatibility patch, buuut, it's still awesome either way!

Yeah, it's an issue. What we really need is a set of xEdit scripts which can quickly customise the creature spawns to suit users' mod lists. Alas I have no experience with xEdit scripting and I'm struggling to find time for development (and see above for special issues with this project in particular).

Honestly is not even that bad, using the disable or markfordelete command fixes it somewhat and you still have 90% of creatures

This mod addresses that. It also adds NPC reactions to beastiality fame as well as some additional creature content (mostly events with dogs in Inns and horses at stables).

There is still an issue there with creatures in and around cities involved in CW sieges. These creatures are connected to the CW enablers so that they will be disabled during those sieges and won't get in the way. Unfortunately this means that they cannot be disabled via console commands. To be able to manually disable them you'll first need to use xEdit to remove the XESP - Enable Parent field from those creatures.

 

I'll probably just remove that field from the base plugin in some hypothetical future update.

Hi again ;3 So this may sound arrogant or entitled but... Have you considered a FOMOD? The idea here being that if simple mods such as Water in Wells(Is that the name? I think...) do have a FOMOD simply asking which area's wells should it effect, well, perhaps this could do the same.

 

I'm thinking options such as "Riften", with sub options for it like "General area around Riften", "Stables", "Riften Jarl's Keep" and so on... For each area. Then provide choices like "All", or "Dogs Only", "No Guard Dogs" or only horses and so on. Riften was an example. So by just ticking boxes, it should be easy to customize. You could even go a step further and have options for various textures perhaps, as in, which should and should not be used by this.

 

I don't see any down sides with my humble end user eyes... Except of course you having to sit there and do that. Which is totally your choice, of course, I'm just suggesting things.

I keep coming back to this but I honestly think that xEdit scripts are the way.

 

There is no way I'm going to provide plugins for versions with and without JKs, with and without Open Cities, with JKs Whiterun but not Open Cities but vanilla Riften, or with vanilla Whiterun and some other Solitude overhaul and both male and female creatures but no dogs in interiors... you see what I mean. But with suite of scripts this could just be a matter of running them to get something customised just for your game.

 

Having said that, this mod is GPL so if you want to post a modified version that you think might be useful to other users then go for it.

And I agree, I was only thinking base game options. I do hear you though, and I wouldn't do it either. As for me posting anything remotely resembling a mod, that's not going to happen. I see what authors go through(And some times even what I put them through, even if I don't mean it) and I am fully aware of the limits of my knowledge. I'm not looking to expand, only to consume! ;3
