Guest Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 WARNING: FO4 Steam Updated 3 hours ago! I got caught and now can not play until F4SE is updated. Stay clear of Steam OnLine for a day or two EVEN IF YOU ARE SURE you have set FO4 to never update. (I probably made a mistake setting Steam updates, but why would you chance it?)

Thanks for the link, useful for next time also there is a YouTube video that shows how to manually roll back, but as of this moment the final page you need to use at Steam is not properly updated. check out the video here

Badtanker Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 yep for some reason steam wanted to download and install the whole game. now i'm in continues loop. it says 100% but when I go to access my game through the launcher being as it has to find my video settings my Fallout 4.exe is gone. I then do the file check and then it shows up but then goes back to downloading it again. been doing this since Thursday evening. I tried to uninstall all my mods but NMM can't find the esm so won't start up.

cleavagesweat Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 there was a thread that had this tip (see attached) "only update this game when I launch it" since we use the F4SE Launcher you will never start the steam/FO4 exe so it doesn't update. I thought everyone did this? so where do these CC updates go if we do update? do they really get on our HD even though we don't buy them???

I thought everyone did this? This is an advice for people who have lost their .exe, your tricks works if you still have your .exe, but if you lost it it's useless.
cleavagesweat Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 the setting I mentioned above is for naught... my FO4 just updated by itself even with that setting on. that is some strong-arm shit. I can understand if it was a multiplayer game but why such a tyrannical approach to a singleplayer experience?
