script lag or save bloat probably. does it happen on a new game? if it does, try running with fewer script heavy mods. DCL is very script heavy as an example.

if it doesn't happen on a new game, try cleaning your save in resaver, and deleting old saves so you only have 10 or 20.

if you have enb, you can also try running with enb disabled to see if it improves.

as a general rule, skyrim doesn't like 4k and even decent computers might struggle if you run at 4k and have 4k/8k textures installed. try a lower resolution or smaller texture size for everything except mountains.

Any suggestions as what to check with save bloat? I only have my current save file and 3 Auto-saves, and when I run Resaver it doesn't show any unattached instances or undefined elements.

try not to use skyrim's quick and auto saves. make a hard save every time or use engine fixes to make quick saves into regular saves. don't save over previous saves. Try not to save after loading screens, or wait 30 sec or more to save after one. Don't save in battle.

beyond the basics in resaver, i don't do much in there as it's very easy to break a save.

This, 100% this. Autosaves and quicksaves can never be safe. To save safely, the game needs to be paused when you save -- and it pauses when you open the main menu or console. It is not paused during quicksaves or autosaves. That's the difference. So don't trust any mod that claims to "fix" autosaving or quicksaving. If you're not in the menu or console, it's not safe.

Well, my biggest issue, I believe, was that I was constantly saving over existing saves. I started making fresh saves and that definitely helped the issue. I wasnot using quicksaves at all.

Thanks for the advice, both of you.

Having an issue where Chloe is stuck in super slow mode after completing the "learn the ropes" quest.
I have tried reseting ai/disable-enable/dismiss/refollow nothing seems to work to get her back to normal speed :(

Try equipping and unequipping the device she was last wearing. If that doesn't work, try using the console command 'setav speedmult 100' with her targeted.

Anyone came across the phenomenon where you get defeated by animals, the message "attackers seem to have lost interest" and as soon as you click OK, they immediatly become hostile again and start attacking you? This makes the Bondage Adventure quest nearly unplayable because you get constantly defeated and at some point not able to stand up anymore (probably stack overflow due too multiple scripts firing but not finishing). Same also goes sometimes for defeat scenarios with real NPCs. And I think it is also in some way connected to the guard dialogue someone mentioned earlier, making them turn hostile after the dialogue ends.

Another thing that might be related to this is Dagonar: as soon as the Orc guy is doing the "check-up" (meaning drilling you), all wardens will turn hostile, though not against the player but towards another entity not in the cell or somehow else invisble.

never heard of the second. have you got any hand to hand mods that might make your hands register as weapons?

if creatures aren't interested, you have something wrong with your setup for creature sex or those creatures are not registered with creature framework (mods can change the race of vanilla animals breaking CF). it's not a DCL issue. follow the animation troubleshooting below. If that doesn't work, remove mods that modify animals except for mnc and cf (and abc or asos if you use them).

Funny thing is, I don't even have any creature-related content installed, no CF, no MNC.  I am not a fan of these depictions, so I left any creature sex mods untouched. I remember I didn't have this occurrences with DCL 8.5 except that it was adding restraints through animals (which later was corrected iirc).

It normally happens like this: PC is either attacked by a bear, wolf, skeever while already more or less completely incapacitated or complex surrender mechanics strike ("You stumble over your boots" etc.), then very soon the message "your attackers lost interest" pops up then you're standing there or lying on the ground, still surrounded by the creatures which just attacked you, still ready to attack and as soon as you move, they attack you again. This makes you go down one more time, with the same outcome and from this it continues (knockout, message, get up, attack) up to a point where you are lying on the ground, now unable to get up but creature now are also attacking you while you're on the ground.

I would be really nice if there was a solution for this, since all other Defeat mods are either overaged and full of bugs (SL Defeat) or way too heavy on papyrus (Naked Defeat).

I will try to provoke this behaviour later when I have more time and I will also attach Papyrus logs. Also for the part with the prison staff turning hostile towards unknown. Would you also like an in-game video of these situations? Attached you find my current load order.

There no need solution for this. if you don't have creature animation DCL cancel surrender procedure, if no any human near. So you get this message about not interested. I already have this quest and even with that i have chance to run out from beasts. it's hard and sometimes got this message 10 times but it is possible.

Hello. I'm having an issue: my bunnyhopping is extremely slow (like, jumping on the moon) and I cannot figure how to fix it. I've tried reinstalling DDs, but if I activate the "walk" option my games now crash.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

The last device she was wearing was the ropes from the quest and it was not given to me after and according to her inverntory she has NO items DD or otherwise. I also tried the setav speed thing and shes still in slow mode :(

I also did a complete new game up till that point and same thing happens.

The only thing I have changed since last doing this quest and everything was fine - was installing 5.2betaDD, (im wondering if the new beta isnt playing nice with DCL)

The only thing that changed as far as DCL is concerned is things should be faster. Try opening the console when things are getting removed, or try this mod:

Bunny hopping as well as walking are supposed to be slow. It's the encumbrance added to simulate a restricted stride and not the animation.

When you change options you need rerun fnis. any time you change any animation anywhere, or add or remove, you need to rerun fnis. if you don't know if you should or not, rerun fnis...

you can toggle god mod or cheat your carry weight if you must, but you're supposed to be slow when bound, so not sure of the point.

I have not explained myself.

When I say "slow" I mean the PC bunny hops... in slow mo. Like literally doing little hops matrix-style, falling slowly to the ground as if gravity had been turned down... while my follower actually hops at a normal speed.

So yeah, I agree bunny hopping is supposed to be slow, but not "take one whole minute to move ten meters forward" slow, I think. The way it is animated, I believe it is actually a bug. Later will try to record a video and post it here to show.

Thanks for the FNIS reminder, I had forgotten about it.

It could be that the speed debuff for the hobble effect is too severe. The speed was optimized for slow walking. Try going into the MCM and maxing out the hobble skirt debuff slider, and if that's not good enough, maybe set her speed mult to something higher than 100.

If you ended up with multiple debuffs, it really slows down. There's not much to do about it as I recall other than changing the speedmult or carryweight in the console, or toggling god mode. It's been brought up a few times in the dev thread and there are some improvements in the DD beta, but nothing that would prevent them from stacking, because that doesn't come from DD. DCL won't get an update until DD is out of beta.

Does the patch overwrite the DD meshes? Have you tried building the nohdt options in bodyslide?

If you're still crashing, get a crashlog.

So after about 70 hours in the update script tends to freeze the game for a second or two.  Worked completely fine prior to this.

I'm seeing these papyrus logs pop up right when it freezes.

[12/04/2022 - 07:48:33PM] [DCUR] Periodical update starts

Every minute or so when it updates it freezes/stutters.  I disabled DCL and the freezing went away.  Re-enabling caused it to come back.  Anyone else this issue or  find a workaround?

try going into the MCM and adjust things so they aren't as frequent, or check the option on the debug page of the MCM for less frequent updates.

Haven't heard of anyone else reporting this. But honestly, on a script heavy list you're more likely to run into issues during a long run and it's not any one mod's fault. And what's in the papyrus log is not necessarily the problem - it's just the last thing logged before the problem. It's entirely possible that something else was trying to do something at the same time as DCL and didn't get logged. You also should not disable scripted mods mid game. It's a good way to bork your save.

If that's happening and you're convinced that scripts are the cause, then try making a quicksave during the stutter and then examining it in ReSaver. It will show you what Scripts are running; that can sometimes give you an indication of which script is overloading papyrus (if any).

You can also try disabling Papyrus logging; when a lot of scripts run at once, papyrus will "dump the stack" which involves writing a lot of data to the log all at once. Disk access is a much more likely cause of stuttering than anything a script is doing. Cursed Loot is one of those mods that can create a lot of running scripts at the same time -- and that's fine, because Skyrim can handle it. Stack dumping is just an indicator that something might be wrong.

If you ever want an example of just how good skyrim is at handling massive numbers of running scripts, install DynDoLod and make a quicksave immediately after leaving the Helgen caves on a new game. Then check the ActiveScripts section!)
