I bring you chapter 6 of Thora's tale. (Only a year and a half late, I know ?)

For my other work, please check out A Bard's Dream: Table of Contents

A few things to know. This is the longest chapter I've posted here. By a decent margin in fact. Too long? (I'll leave that up to you, the reader ?) This entry is extremely NSFW. There's some potentially disturbing imagery, as well as a fair amount of nudity and generally lewd content. Things also get pretty heavy. Be warned. That being said, I hope you enjoy. ❤️

If you stayed for the entire chapter, I sincerely hope you enjoyed it. I don't know that I plan on doing anything this long again in the near future, but I wanted to keep Thora's Odyssey (Dream) Arc down to three acts, so the middle got a little larger than I intended.

Thank you so much for reading!

Yeah, I'm really happy with how that whole sequence came out. ?

Vaermina will be very happy to hear about your nightmares too! ?

Ok, before I start - a comment written within the same month as the blog entry totally counts as 'recent' :classic_ph34r: So see? I'm absolutely not late or anything. ?

Now, on to the story.  I know you said this is the longest chapter that you've made, yet I find myself wishing for more. It's absolutely captivating! The story, the visuals, the dialogues - all of them are amazing! It was clear from the start that you're a very talented writer, and this recent entry simply proves it once again. The whole chapter reads like an illustrated book. ?

The immolation scene still gets me, no matter how many times I look at it. It is really well-made and really, REALLY disturbing. I wonder about Thora's state of mind if she was able to get a hold of herself so quickly after such an ordeal.  Considering that she tends to joke away most of the events, combined with a sort of reckless abandonment with which she seems to rush into things (like trying to attack Vaermina or even insisting on calling her Vaermy) it feels like on some levels she really doesn't care whether she lives or dies.  The whole self-hatred mixed with guilt that Vaermina mentioned seems to be a real aspect of Thora's inner state and not simply part of the dream sequence.

Speaking of the Prince of Nightmares, she seems to have recognized Claire. I'm curious if there's something more to Thora's first lover than meets the eye ?

You left us with so many questions: why is Thora's soul promised to Vaermy? (also she's been waiting for a few hundred years for it, so does it mean that Thora is that old or does the soul travel through all her ancestors?); What exactly happened during those skooma-addled years? How did Thora break out of the drug cycle? I am going to be completely impatiently waiting to find out what happens next!

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful work with us! ?

Thank you. I'm constantly experimenting with my visuals and layouts, and I'm starting to really like where I'm at. ?

Yeah, the immolation scene still gets me too. Especially the double panel without any captions. ? It's a very dark moment. And yeah, she comes across a very carefree and reckless most of the time. But you're absolutely right. Someone with a happy, healthy psyche doesn't just laugh something like that off and move on.

You're right, she did seem to recognize Claire, and seemed to insinuate that Clair was somehow related to losing track of Thora even before she started using skooma.

I'm very mean. ? I hinted at a lot of answers without giving anything substantial away. Not only that, I raised a bunch more questions. ?

I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter, and I promise, though it might take a little while, Thora's story is very, very thought out and I do have the answers to all of those questions and more. ?
