First proper look at one of the girls in their quest location

OK, it's nothing you haven't seen before but you wouldn't believe how much grief I went through to get this:

For a model that worked every time in the test cell, this broke in every way imaginable in Tamriel. Koriina here refused to get in her jar and wandered around the table top, or she'd get in but then end up standing on the cork. Or half way through the cork. Or the activator perk wouldn't work and the activator volume I tried in its place crashed the game when the cell loaded.

Lessons learned:

  • Don't faff on trying to generalize package conditions: write one for the specific task and add conditions  so it applies when you need it.
  • Popping up a Message with two or more choices is way easier than trying to add extra options with perks and activation entry points
  • Don't add ENB lights to the nif's object palette unless you want it to be collidable.
  • tcl messes up furniture animations
  • double check that packages have "ignore combat" flags checked.

Still needs a bit of fiddling with. The wrist cuffs reverse direction for a bit, then carry on as they were - I could almost call that a feature. But the writing on the ankle cuffs is upside down. Which isn't going to matter to most people, but it bothers me :)

Just for the hell of it, here's a shot of Olfina Grey-Mane helping me to test a full size jar in the text cell.

I'm going to have to find an excuse to place a couple of full size jars at some point.

those really are quite amazing. you should keep the upside down ankle words - it's so she can read them easier ;)

Poses are great - but we are really looking forward to a proper Quest mod!

Olfina is just one that would look nice in my collection...

Wonder how difficult it would be to integrate a girl to a weapon?

given the trouble here, I'm almost imagining it'd be borderline impossible

I see what you mean. Any time she is in a position to get a good look at them ...

... they're the right way up again!

I wouldn't get too excited - most of the quests are going to be clearing existing dungeons. Although I may well set up something a bit different for some of the later missions. I want to use some of these props I've been making, and they'd be a pain to integrate into an existing level.

Tricky, certainly. You could maybe do armor, assuming that XP32 gives the human skeleton a SaddleBone, but getting the girl to animate along with the swing of a weapon sounds like a nightmare. Possibly attach a mesh to the weapon that in turn as has a saddle bone attached, and then do it that way.

If you want an excuse for full size jars...

"Alice in Lover's Land"

"Eat Me"...
"Drink Me"....

For everyone not already down the rabbit hole into LL

I suppose that is one logical direction to take :)

Perhaps some mad wizard's lair with important NPCs trapped inside the prototype fullsize jars?
