cleavagesweat Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 looking for some help on lighting (or lack thereof) using Tetrachromatic ENB. the author suggested not using any lighting mod so I have no idea if there is some setting inherent to the ENB to adjust lighting. I asked multiple times on the thread but you know how seldom any assistance is rendered on those threads (especially for ENB mods). i'm attaching some pics. that is inside Lakeview Manor.
allsunday Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 I used Enhanced Lights and FX with Tetrachromatic ENB once a long time ago. I don't recall having any problems. Honestly, all that ELFX really does is change/reposition the actual lights of Skyrim into better ones already available on the Creation Kit. So it's mostly just vanilla assets if I remember correctly, I don't see how vanilla assets can negatively impact ENBs much. In the pictures you included, I'm 100% positive there are simply no light sources placed on the candelabra and the chandelier. There's definitely one placed on the candlestick on the dresser. I'm thinking vanilla Skyrim is so bright that Bethesda never bothered placing light sources in those areas at all so this is the result. If Lakeview Manor or interiors are the only problem you see, I think ELFX has an interiors only download or you could definitely just add the light sources yourself using the CK.
yatol Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 how the game look, it's weather, lighting template, imagespace, nifs, game settings and your monitor settings enb just edit some of that stuff, brigther, less satured or whatever you download an enb because of the screens? those screens were made with mod x? if you don't use mod x, it won't look the same that's all lighting in that room, it's one invisible omnidirectional light above the enchanting table, not the candles with my imagespaces, you can bring a torch in that mod interiors his lights aren't to light the rooms, it's just eyecandy
Grey Cloud Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 I agree with what Yatol said. I see ENBs as more trouble than they are worth. I use ENBoost, Imaginator and Relighting Skyrim. I have gamma cranked up in the game settings. Outside daytime: Outside at night: Inside: No textures more than 2k. Relighting Skyrim works by making the light come from a source. So in the bottom image the light is coming from the fire. The further away from the fire, the darker the room. Never use a torch or magelight. Sometimes have to put on night vision in Falmer caves. It's generally a bit too dark for my tastes in the evening before the moons have come up, otherwise my Skyrim is kind on my eyes.

Seijin8 Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 I don't think this has anything to do with your ENB. You haven't completed the house yet. Some of the lighting in there is triggered by building additional things. Until you have completed the interior, it is tough to judge if your ENB is the problem.

I don't see the point of blundering around in the dark, squinting at the screen and wrecking my eyes.
