WCSC Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 So.... I've had a fresh reinstall of Skyrim, have some SL mods (Aroused creatures, framework, more creatures, defeat, AIO Pussy HDT 4.0 and about 40 followers. I've installed a few mods, uninstalled a few I didn't like, started new games.... It's getting to the point where if I have 2 followers or so, and every time we die and reload to the last save, the game gets slower, after each reload. The FPS drop with each restart from last save. 127 to start, next relaod, 87, 64, 36, then 22 it appears. What is slowing my game? I'm trying to understand what exactly is happening and what the mods maybe doing. I start a new game and it's normal....for a short time. Add a follower and it gets slower faster, stay solo and will last a little longer Is old info and scripts stored somewhere that bogs me down even after a new game? DO I need to dump something, delete something? Rid old saves? Are animations slowing things down? Or is the only fix to just uninstall Skyrim and reinstall the game and all mods?
orgs1n Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 What I would do in such a case, is load my last save in a save cleaning tool such as ReSaver, then check if some single mod is leaving behind an inordinate amount of running scripts.
Uncle64 Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 Do you have 127 in fps? You may have your issue there, Skyrim is built for 30 fps, you can run it in 60 fps.
Nuascura Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 A. Never ever install and uninstall mods with scripts mid-playthrough. B. Secondly, be sure to check using TES5EDIT or just by simply observing which mods you've installed conflict in any way. C. You may also have mods that are script heavy. For instance, I can improve my fps by changing the values in Creature Framework. Finally, you are right in observing that when loading previous saves when playing an active save, the game slows. Skyrim doesn't reset its scripts. Neither does it rollback changes in any way. Instead, loading a save applies changes. This is why you should never ever load any save from within another save that is too vastly different. Additionally, this is also why Skyrim's auto saves are shit and should never be used. D. So basically, never load previous saves within another save.
RohZima Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 You can try lock it to 30fps If it is a mod causing it you need to isolate it by starting a new game and playing with just basic mods, then adding one mod at a time to see which is causing it. Or go backwards; remove half your mods, se if problem persists, if it doesn't add back half of those mods and see if the issue comes back... Keep doing that till you find the precise mod. But I doubt it is any of those mods or others would have had it. It is likely something with your environment
WCSC Posted March 21, 2018 Author Posted March 21, 2018 THank you for your replies. Where do I go to cap the FPS? Also in Loot I always notice these messages and I see the name TES5EDIT. The outlined messages for say "update" are those things that get cleaned up in loot, or am I having to use a outside program? I also tried to download TES5EDIT from nexus a couple of times and everytime I unpack the archive the application only shows 1K and the program never opens
Uncle64 Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 You can cap by installing Enb and EnbBoost. Atleast install EnbBoost since it makes the game more stable. You should also need to clean those masters, dont clean any other mod. There are several of guides how you do it. Check this on out. This one is good. https://steamcommunity.com/app/72850/discussions/0/350533172684282984/
Nevershouldhavecomehere Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 Also paste screenshots into paint and save to avoid giving aneurysms to just about everyone.

Did that and it came up with none
WCSC Posted March 23, 2018 Author Posted March 23, 2018 Fionally got Tes5Edit to work. So now that I'm in mid game with all these problems of slowing, is it best to clean using tes5edit and start all over again? The slowing is still occurring

orgs1n Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Nothing sticks out in particular, except that you have a lot of follower mods, some of which could be script heavy. Do you really need *all* of these follower mods in a single playthrough? As RohZima suggested, eliminate a half of your mods at a time (starting with all those followers), start a new game and see if the slowdown still occurs. From the screenshots it appears that you run LOOT. It did report 0 errors, right? No mods that required cleaning, truly? Did you clean update.esm, dawnguard.esm, hearthfire.esm and dragonborn.esm as explained on STEP?
