maxsteiner Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 I have a problem with overlays disappearing (freckels, pubic, etc) and i have to go into racemenu and reapply them. This can happen after clothes being removed during a rape sceen, getting some devious devices equipped, when an animation ends (like sex aninm) Or some other random event. Im at my whits end. Does anyone know anything about this?
Monoman1 Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Think I might have the same problem. Mostly seems to affect the body overlay. Not head or feet. Character looks ridiculous with freckle seams. So I change it back to the way it should be. But it eventually goes wrong again. I've only a few mods I can think of that change the overlays. Sanguines debauchery Blush when aroused Immersive fashion Apropros (wear and tear) And slavetats obviously. It's hard to pinpoint when it happens exactly for me because its only later you realize they're gone but I suspect it's something to do with immersive fashion since I seem to get notifications around the time I notice it. The thing is, as far as I know slavetats only uses the first 12 racemenu 'slots' so I moved all my freckles and war paints to slots 13 and up. So in theory it shouldn't conflict with slavetats but I still keep losing overlays.

The problem occurs when overlays are overwritten by other overlays/ You need to increase the amount of overlays you can have at once. Its not too hard all you do is go to skyrim/data/skse/plugins and edit the file nioverride.ini increase inumoverlays= to a higher number. There should be a setting for other part of the body aswell. edit: forgot to mention if you use mod organizer the file will be in the modorganizer/mods/racemenu/skse/plugins

I've already done that. Think it's set to 24. With my skin overlays occupying the latter most slots. But they still disappear sometimes.

But they still disappear sometimes. Then I don't know I'm afraid. That fixed it for me. Never had that issue ever again but I use UUNP Maby its a body thing who knows.
Monoman1 Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 So here's something interesting I noticed. My overlays disappeared after leaving the riverwood trader. So I loaded a save I made before I left the shop. In the saves thumbnail, you can see (might have to squint a bit) clearly the overlays on my characters body at the time of saving - The green warpaint on her shoulders and down her leg. But even if I quit the game and reload that save the overlays are still gone. Pics: Save game pic: Loaded game: I'm not sure it's connected but I also noticed afterwards that my xpmse mcm has reset to defaults. My settings for disabling the cloak and having swords and daggers on the back had reverted to defaults. A search of the comments in xpmses forum thread says that this is in fact a problem with race menu. So I'm not sure if the two are connected. But I'm just making a note of it here. I'm not sure how long the settings had been changed back to defaults since it's not something you'd check very often.

That can be a bad mix of body type + xpsme + racemenu Some players have solved problems like that installing the standalone NiOverride over RaceMenu.

Of course, compress it, with zip, rar, 7z, as you want, because can be too big. Enable all this options in the papyrus section of skyrim.ini [Papyrus] bEnableLogging=1 bEnableTrace=1 bLoadDebugInformation=1
jimmywon34 Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 I get this problem too, but I think oddly it only happens with certain followers of mine. I use UUNP and EFF(to add overlays to followers). i'm gonna try the NIOverride latest download and overwrite Racemenu with that and see if that helps.

Started the game, loaded my save, my overlays were already gone so I opened up race menu, loaded my characters preset. Pressed done. And immediately my overlays were gone again.... Not trying to whine but a papyrus log is usually a simple .txt file. Are you telling me that the file you just downloaded is so large that it needed to be compressed? If so, I'm not sure I want to look at it.

Text files compress really well. It's not large at all.

What mod is CRDE??? Appear that are controling the tatoos but have a problem. Try remove it or update it. Can be a version problem or any incompatibility. DEC does not link to slave tats but that is what the papyrus log is indicating. As an experiment I would disable slavetats and ypsfashion. If that doesn't work I would disable DEC.

I think it just checks if you have visible tats to calculate how vulnerable your character is. Don't think it actually changes anything. Its ok to say disable this and that but it can take hours of game play before the overlays disappear again. I'll try disabling Dec in the MCM and see if it happens again.

And I don't use UUNP or EFF. Nor do I add overlays to followers. :shrugs:
darkangel2041 Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 I know, it is a old post, but does anyone has solved this ? I have the same probleme and I am trying to solve this. I use UNNP Body, slavetats, BWA, apropos2, bathing in skyrim (with Monoman patch), cum overlays and some mod tattoos (I tried to pick only recent one (2017+), older seems broken with racemen latest version. I will try the slave tats pex from Monomon to set overlays since slot 11 or above.
