SiloXX Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Hi folks, hoping you can help me figure out where I am going wrong with my attempt to port an LE mod to SSE: The item is a simple wearable mesh (KomRoseButt_01), nothing complicated. It's an ESP with texture and mesh, no BSA. I've read/watched various tutorials which all state that to port this mod I just need to load it in the new CE, and either just re-save it, or change the name of the item and change it back then save it. I load the CE, check Skyrim as the master, check the mod and mark it as active, rename and save (or just save) the ESP, and place the new ESP into the mod archive (7z). I just can't get it to work - every time I equip the item in-game it shows a red triangle exclamation warning. This apparently means it cant find the mesh, even though the mesh and texture folders are still in the archive. No doubt I'm missing something simple, but it has me stumped and a little frustrated at this point.... Thanks in advance for any assistance. Cheers, Silo.
myuhinny Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Red triangle exclamation warning mean missing mesh.
Kaarinah Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 When you port meshes they need to be upgraded, it's usually easily done with Nifoptimizer.
SiloXX Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 Ahh, thanks - I will investigate this. The tutorials didn't say anything about this, so thank you for the useful tip!
SiloXX Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 Thanks Kaarinah, that worked perfectly! Kudos and +1 to you!
strawb Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 Nifoptimizer worrk for 90 % of the time. Just remember to sort the head meshes from the body meshes. I have had meshes though that still needed to be done manually with nif scope. There is a tutorial on how this is done. Just a few easy steps. So after using nif optimizer and you are still having issues with a particular npc this is a option. You soon realise though after converting a bunch of meshes why nif optimizer was created, does get tedious.
