CDT when too many NPC's in my house

As I said on title, I use the My Home Is Your Home mod to make my follower live with me in my house but it seems the game don't know how to handle it and run out of RAM really fast whenever I have too many NPC's moving and doing their stuff. Problem is that it doesn't happen in city with others NPC's or in the wild. Only in my house with my follower that happen and I don't understand why. Anyone have an idea of what should I do?

(My computer really should be able to handle it, I really don't understand wtf is going on)

Your in a enclosed area it probably also depends on what all the followers are wearing what type of lighting it has like moving light and stuff from a fire and things like that. Outside the cell you are in is bigger.

Also keep in mind that followers have scripts and a massive amount of scripts all firing off at the same time can bottleneck the game to the point of instability.

another possible contributing factor is (high res) textures.

in regular cells most NPCs will have a combination of textures (including lower res stuff for default on possibly bodies, weapons, armors).

for followers it becomes very easy to end up with a lot of high res textures at the same time:

Follower him/her self (skin, muscles, sweat or oil, tats, makeup, eyes, brows ... you get the idea)

Custom added armors (i have seen a follower wearing armor totaling over 10 pieces, and each piece adds to the load)

Custom weapons and or shields

then every follower can add to it by adding those multiple times.

My fav pair of stiletto heels has aproximately the same resource budget as wearing Alduin around on each foot. Read what Valcon said again. The problem is very unlikely to be the house.

If you use HDT... make sure all the custom followers that you have in the house have the XPMSE skeleton.   If they do not, it could cause severe framerate issues that could end up crashing the game altogether.  Make sure the navmesh is decent in the house... npc's trying to path to areas without navmesh could cause stability inconsistancies.  Lastly, try MHIYH Plus and use the feature for scheduled area relocations to move some npc's to beds or outside the house to work at certain times.  Have a day shift and night shift to alleviate the number of NPC's in your home at any one time.

If you have other cells in the house, try having a few move around to different cells based on the hour of the day.

If some of them use the XPMS squeleton instead of XPMSE's is that a problem?

I think the navmesh is pretty good, this modder seems to be quite experienced at creating houses.

I also already use MHIYH Plus, so I'll try to move them around!

If you are using HDT-PE or HDT-SMP then you will want to use XPMSE on all of them.   You can switch out the skeletons fairly easily (and back up the old ones) by placing them in the same folder that the mod included for those particular assets.

If you are not using HDT I don't think it will make too much of a difference.

Another big factor with NPC's and resource-usage is LOS (line of sight): the game spends WAY less resources on NPC's you can't actually see at that moment, as on the ones you can see. So: the bigger the house (and the fewer NPC's actually are in your LOS), the easier it will be on your framerate and game.

EDIT: LOS in Skyrim isn't strictly restricted to your field of view, but to a direct line between you and the target/NPC).
EDIT 2: After having a look at your house-mod, I've got to say it is a rather resource-intesive mod on its own due to the large number of lightsources and animated objects. You might be able to improve performance if you downgrade the textures used (I recommend the texture optimizer for players with systems on heavy duty).

Exactly how many followers do you have in your home?  I have five hanging out in the dining hall, I have another six hanging out in the main hall, and I have 10 hanging out on the upstairs floor, no CTD.  I also have two more hanging out in the tower, another two more hanging out as dungeon keepers, and one last follower hanging out in the library.  26 followers in my home.  Never had a problem.  Note:  each room is a separate cell.

This should be good news for you because it means the problem likely isn't your PC (although you should provide your specs just in case).  My bet is that the follower you have might be bugged out or another mod with a heavy script is effecting the game.  I've used that player home you're using before and it worked fine for me, so start a new playthrough and give yourself enough cash to buy the house, then look up the ref IDs of a few followers, console command "player.placeatme (ref ID)"  *** or you can do console command "prid (ref ID)" enter then "moveto player" enter ***, recruit them as followers, assign them to the home, then try and see if it will still CTD.

If it still crashes, that means one of your mods you have installed is causing the problem.  Use the process of elimination to sort your problem out, this is the fastest solution.
If it doesn't CTD then that means your previous save game is corrupted so you'll have to either clean your save or start a fresh new game if you really want this problem to go away.
