Why not set it up to where your screenshots are saved in jpeg format instead. Other things that can view .BMP files is photoshop (cost money) Paint-net (free) Gimp2 (free) I think windows photo viewer works as well but not sure on resolutions.

Many stay away from .BMP files as you have to download them to view them instead of just click them and look.

Saving them in PNG format is another way of making them viewable if you don't want the quality loss from converting to JPEG. I abandoned BMP is the late 90s myself after PNG started to go mainstream.

the problem is no sofwere is capable of viewing the picture , even paint gives me the same error

if there's acually a way to set the extension any way I want it then tell me how do I do that ? well I just use F12 and it just works in game saying "ScreenShot33.bmp saved" that's all I get .

I can't convert the files and I do have the Adobe Photoshop CS6 but when I try to open them it says file corrupted , it only works with 1360x768 :frown: what a bummer :<

The game supports taking screenshots by pressing the PrintScreen key any time during gameplay. You will get a notification in the upper right corner of your screen informing you of the file name the screenshot was saved as. While this doesn't work on the login or character selection screens, you can still take screenshots there using the standard Windows usage of PrintScreen or ALT+PrintScreen and then pasting the screenshot into, for example, Paint.

The screenshot directory is C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\<live|liveeu>\Screenshots

By default all screenshots are saved in .png format. While this results in no quality loss due to compression, it also means that the screenshots can be very large (15.6 MB for a 2560x1600 screenshot).

You can change the format to .jpg by editing the UserSettings.txt file:

1. Exit the game.
2. Navigate to your ESO settings directory C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online   \<live|liveeu>\
3. Open UserSettings.txt.
4. Search for the line SET ScreenshotFormat "PNG" or "BMP".
5. Replace "PNG" or "BMP" with "JPG".
6. Save and then restart the game.
