That's good. I need to find more good hair for the male sims. Too many of them are geared towards female sims.

I am currently in the process of adding more subtle motions to the animation, as I was unhappy with how stiff it appeared in-game. This updated animation will be included with future animations that I’ll be releasing. But for now, you can find the older one in the OP of this topic.

I am so happy that you've returned! Your animation and rig look amazing! I bet you shed tears while trying to set up the rig correctly on Blender! :classic_tongue:

Thanks! Yes, there was much trial & error setting up the new rig. It's still very much being worked on at this point but it's almost ready. This updated animation is still using the old rig, since I can't apply Nanashi to old animations unfortunately.

Keep the good work crafty, you're doing great.:thumbsup:

However, you need to work on one minor detail, the penis in particular. Focus on strengthening your weak points, so they won't cause you trouble in the later future.

Thank you and of course! The animation I'm going to do after this is probably going to be more explicit. This one that I'm refining now is actually more of an exercise for facial expressions and other body movement. The personal projects I had before tended to focus too much on the sexual aspect, so the rest of the movement wasn't up to par. :joy:

That's not to say that area couldn't be improved though! I'm sure working with the penis bones will teach me a few things, as will using the tongue ones.

Your animation doesn't look clunky at all, and I say you should keep going! :thumbsup:

I still have much to learn. That tutorial using the graph editor is very helpful, I was going to look one up since I have not used it before. Thanks for the link. :smile:

It's Dagger's rig. I set everything up with the new turbodriver rigs, both male and female. No penis controller unfortunately.

I did one for the nanashi rig too, but I have no idea how to solve the foot problem.

Dagger's rig has a few of the controllers hidden away in the other layers, located in the armature tab. I made sure to unhide the ones I want to use.

This had me stumped for a while in the beginning:

I had a feeling there were some hidden bones, but I didn't look into it too deeply. After I finish up the modified Nanashi rig I'll take a closer look at Dagger's rig.

 

The reason I thought there was a penis controller was because it appeared there was a "loop" around the top's penis. Looking at it again I can see that it's actually the foot bone.

Another thing I found out is how to switch from the ik to fk, using the controller. When you select one of the ik bones, look in the N tool menu and scroll down to properties. Dragging the slider from 1.000 to 0.0000 switches completely to FK. Dragging it to about halfway gives you control of both ik and fk.

It's a tricky thing to mess with, so I'll leave it alone for now.

I see with all of the rigging tutorials, they are applying the armature to a mesh. But How do you do this for the sims, which already has it's own rig?

Forgive me if my question is silly. I usually see a control rig hooked into the sims rig to control it. If that makes any sense:confounded:

You do it through constraints, that's how both the Nanashi & Dagger rig work. There are technically two armatures in the projects. One is the control and the other is the original, which has constraints on it to copy transforms etc. from the new rig. Then you "bake it". (It creates empty key frames in the dope sheet of the original rig)

You can add the control bones to the original armature and import the blend file into Sims4Studio, it only copies the location/rotation for the original bones & armature (why you can't rename bones, etc.), so you do still need to bake the keyframes into the original bones, or create "empty" frames.

Thanks a lot. The whole rigging part is really confusing, especially when you don't know what you're doing. I try to copy everything I see them do in the video tutorials, but I always run into a stump.:smile:

One thing for certain, the whole process of learning this thing is a humbling experience. It gives you an idea of how much work needs to be put into animating. People who are so quick to belittle animators should spend a whole day in blender.:lol:
