LArcEnL1 Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 (edited) On this note, I would like to share my personal Top8 for the Xelsword Classes an some thoughts about them 1 - Jester 2 - Shieldbreaker 3 - Plague Doctor / Occultist 4 - Leaper / Flagellant 5 - Highwayman / Musketeer / Bounty Hunter 6 - Abomination / Grave Robber / Hellion 7 - Antiquarian / Vestal / Houndmaster / Man at Arms 8 - Crusader / Arbalest ----------------------------------------A FEW WORD FOR EACH CLASS (*trying to be more objective)-------------------- Jester: Full marks | Excellent design, great execution Shieldbreaker Full marks | Excellent design, great execution Plague Doctor Full marks | Excellent design, great execution Occultist Full marks | Excellent design, great execution Leaper Very Good| Excellent design, there is space for a little polish/improvements Flagellant Full marks | Excellent design, great execution (perhaps a little more blood would have been fitting) Highwayman Full marks | Excellent design, great execution Musketeer Full marks | Excellent design, execution (a little simple but perfectly in theme with DD) Bounty Hunter Full marks | Excellent design, great execution Abomination Very Good| Good design, maybe in need of a little polish in the bottom half of human form Grave Robber Very Good| Good design, great execution Hellion Very Good| Excellent design, there is space for a little polish/improvements Antiquarian Good | Decent design, great execution (despite much improved I still have mixed feelings about the design) Vestal Poor | Good design, feels quite old / I would recommend some polish and little update. Maybe on the clothes, but also especially in the legs and the nipples Houndmaster Good | Decent design, great execution / I understand where it's coming from but i feel its design (with the humanoid dog) is a little too much out of this world Crusader Good | Good design, like the Vestal feels a little dated and could use some polish, not as bad as the Vestal though. Arbalest Poor | Decent design, execution PENDING** / The fact that is grounded in the Darkest Dungeon theme is certainly appreciated, but the clothes are nothing special and I find the girl body proportion and, above all, the expression unappealing Man at Arms Very Good| Excellent design, good execution / This one, I fully admit, it's probably personal preference since the clothes design is perfect. But the girl is a little too thick in the legs for me (not the butt, the thighs, especially noticeable in "sprite.attack.mace"). But I absolutely love the face and all the other body features! Agreed on everything except for the Arbalest, because I'm sure Xelsword is going to update her design just like the Musketeer (when he gets to her, of course). The only thing that the Fully Nude Shieldbreaker wins over even the Jester for me personally ❤️ 3

(and I too have trust in Xelsword) Regarding the Shieldbreaker I love some clothes on my girls. Not much, but the little needed to give spice and accentuate the character characteristics (apologies for the wording. I'm italian after all ^^). 1
Fors Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 My last run got bricked when i tried to edit Marvin Seo trinkets patch for the sunward isles, im playing with the human duchess mod and his patch covers the basic class, when i edited the values on the trinkets folder, following the structure used on the human duchess trinkets and booted the game i got a black screen with a error message i dont remember, and ingame almost all my trinkets were gone. For example, running a rebalance mod on top of the original class can often duplicate the effects. They stack, instead of overwriting. Do you have multiple versions of these classes?

Yeah. i like thick girls. I find no issues with the vestal design nor her thickness. But is one of the first drawings and since then Xelsword art has improved quite a lot. Because of this the vestal, if compared to newer classes, feels quite rough, especially in the parts mentioned. Edited October 13, 2022 by LArcEnL1

If not it would be better to fix it now that is still in sketch phase if is not much hassle.
