mitchell.badger Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Hi, I am looking for any comprehensive guide/advice on how to apply multiple texture sets to one nif files. I might not be able to explain my case clearly so here's an example: The vanilla stormcloak armor & guard armors at each hold using the same Nif file with different textures. Could anyone advise me on how to achieve this? I've already created a new mesh as replacer for the vanilla armor but it can only load up 1 type of texture. Thanks in advance !
Akzyra Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 You can override textures for the ArmorAddons that make up the armor. This is 00021521 in xEdit, but the CK display the info as well. Probably better depending on how you work. 3D Name is the Node of the NIF that will be affected. But rather than changing the 3D Name with an ESP, change the Node Name in the Nif file. If you got multiple nodes, a ESP is needed. Make more "Alternate Texture" entries. The texture set (TXST) contains the paths to the files.
Varithina Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 There is this guide as well, but it is not that easy to read due to the small size of the images and the fact that the bits you really want to see are cut off in them, or at least seem to be from what I can see of the images. http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Using_Texture_sets_for_Skyrim
mitchell.badger Posted September 18, 2017 Author Posted September 18, 2017 Thank you so much for the info everyone! I'll try to follow those guides and see if I can actually make it
