Help Choosing ENB

hey guys just wanted to hear some opinions on ENBs. i never got into the enbs but just picked the most popular (realvision) and didn't change forever.

recently indecided to switch bc realvision sux (my opinion) and chose Techtrachromatic. this enb is very colorful and i like it but i think there are some issues with it. i was thinking about trying to switch to BLEAK but wanted to hear some thoughts and experiences, preferences before i did switch again.

so what enb do you use and do you suggest between Techtra & Bleak?

ENBs are very subjective based on personal preferences. I myself like things to look more "clear", realistic as well as colorful, but not over-saturated and cartoon-ey. I'd always used RealVision, then PureVision, but after getting a new Win10 rig, I was having tons of CTD issues and was blaming Oldrim. But it wasn't Oldrim, it was (I believe) the old ENBs.

I've never used either of the mods you mention as Tech appeared over-saturated and Bleak was too dark and depressing looking to me - and seemed to have a dark "film" over everything. But some folks like that atmosphere, so...

I finally went with TrueVision and think it's fantastic. It uses ENB .292. I don't think Oldrim works well with the newer releases, maybe I'm wrong. But I will say that it seems to be rather resource heavy. TrueVision has 5 diff versions with it, from full graphics down to performance modes. My new rig is a i7-7700k with 16G and a GTX-1080 and tried the full graphics mode. My FPS was VERY low - and went down through all modes and settled on the performance mode. I even sent a post to the author that if I can't use the full graphics mode, who can? I never got a response. Oh well...  Could be just the way I have my ini's set up. Idk...  Main thing is I'm real happy with it and very seldom CTD.

DOF is another issue. Some folks love them, personally I don't. They're neat and all, working like a camera blurring the far background since they can't focus on things both close and far. But the human eye isn't a camera and doesn't function like one. Do things blur in the distance when you look at something closer? Of course not. But they are cool.

So if you are familiar with the RealVision-type look, you might want to try out TrueVision and see if you like it. Just my 2 cents.

How may 4k+ textures are you running c5? I have the same rig as you ... kinda, I have an i7 5820k. I  had an issue with texture size in areas where I had added a lot of high poly clutter, (looking at you JK whiterun)  then I downsized to mostly 2k textures, and the problem went away, and tbh, I don't see the difference. As for enb, I have tried a lot of them, though I didn't try the hard-core screen archer ones. I like to play the game. If that is what you were using, I don't think you are supposed to get more than 2-3 fps regardless of your rig. At the moment I am running vivid weather with vivid enb -  straight out of the box. I think it is awesome. I have 0 fps hit. My game looks great, oh and the DOF, is there, but it is very nicely subtle. Dem mangaclub guy(s) are very clever ppl.

Not a shit load 'cuz as you said, I can't tell the diff either. And I'm not sure how many folks just take 2K tex's and increase the image size to 4K thinking that it does something - but it's just plain stupid image-wise. Anyway, I've only got 4K tree bark and perhaps a few other mods that I can't think of off-hand. Most of my stuff is 2K as well. If one can't get any detail in a 2048 x 2048 image, maybe you should find a new line of work.  :)

Good, you found an ENB you like. I tried Vivid and can't remember why I changed. Maybe too dark or something with the weather mod - don't remember now. A very subtle DOF is nice... I'm not anti-DOF despite what I said earlier.   :)

ENB works better in 32 than it ever will in 64 unless someone figures out how to completely recomplile its rendering pipleine , and that is not an opinion, it is a fact.
