Xaqq Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 wetfunction redux seems to work fine on all existing in game characters but seems to have an issue applying its head specular textures to standalone followers.I'm curious on how it's able to affect the body wetness and specularity of standalone followers but somehow not be able to affect the head textures at all whatsoever. is there a way to figure this out/fix this? i'm guessing its because standalone followers have their head textures set in a different directory or something of the sort, but their body textures are still relatively in the same spot normal characters have their body textures. therfore allowing Wetfunction redux only be able to affect body textures, but be unable to affect head textures...
myuhinny Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Stand alone is called that for a reason it means that it doesn't usually require other mods or files to work stand alone is the same a custom race they both have their own folders and files and to usually change them you have to replace the files in their folders to work as that is what makes them stand alone or a custom race because they don't need other files to work and other files and mods will not alter them because their files and folders are separate from the rest.
Lodakai Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 It should still work.. I think wetfunction redux applies its own textures using netimmerse like slavetats does. Netimmerse by default does not allow head textures to be applied because it can cause CTD on decapitation. if I am not mistaken, you need to enable the head slots in the netimmerse ini file. If you are using MO with racemenu.. it will be in the racemenu folder. Try setting bEnableFaceOverlays=1 in the niovverride.ini. Make sure to back up the original should it not resolve the issue. Also make sure you have the wethead textures for wetfunction.. as it is not included within the download as described on the authors home page.
foreveraloneguy Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Works fine for me with all followers, standalone or otherwise. The mod does have trouble updating textures though, even on the PC, as sometimes my hands, feet, or head will have just the default specular texture applied while everything else is at some other level of wetness.

Lodakai Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 You need to look in Data\Textures\Actors\Character\WetFunction Make sure you have the file wethead_s.dds in there.
Xaqq Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 You need to look in Data\Textures\Actors\Character\WetFunction Make sure you have the file wethead_s.dds in there. already have that it seems.... its all in the folder. man this is incredibly hard to figure out lmao.
Lodakai Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Yea that is odd.. what version of wetfunction are you using? and which follower is it having trouble with?
Xaqq Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 Yea that is odd.. what version of wetfunction are you using? and which follower is it having trouble with? im using the latest version of wetfunction redux. i follow all the proper instructions of installation (first installing auto wet adjustment thingy then overwriting it with wetfunction redux) I got the wehead dds file from the thread itself, someone posted the proper one. Ye it works 100% on lydia, but not on my standalone follower as far as i've seen. the follower I have, their texture and mesh files are in the actors folder, not character folder, unlike other standalone followers which have their files located in skyrim/data/textures/actors/character/"follower Name" this follower I'm talking about is located under Skyrim/data/textures/actors/"follower name", so it's not even inside the character folder. it's literally outside of it. skyrim adult modding is hard af for me cuz i dont play as a female character, and all my "adult/body/hdt" mods are used for this one follower here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75333/? ye if u can just look through her files it would be really helpful. edit: and sometimes even if i manually replace her face textures, i come across an issue where every texture shows up except for her face's specular textures, so there is often a neck seem if i try to manually change textures on this follower. it's very odd.
Lodakai Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 The only way I could get it to work is to switch off texture swapping. See if that helps.

LoOnySsTaR Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 For anyone looking for a suiting wethead_s.dds you might wanna check https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28946
