How to make a .xml slide preset from the body meshes? Body slide

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, Is it possible to gain/obtain/extract/create a .xml bodyslide preset from a body mesh with Outfit Studio? I like a body from a follower mod but the author is missing so I cannot ask him for that bodypreset. If such feat is possible I bet the process is a piece of cake but I just need the short steps to make this possible, thank you

If it the same mesh (CBBE for example) then it's easy.

Opne OS -> import the Body_1 (from Mod)

Create a Slider (MyFullShape for example)

Activate the Slider AND Mask the complete mesh.

The export the Slider.

Done - Close OS.

Now, you can open your Body in OS, create a new Slider and import the Sliderdata.

Lol! I thought I was more skilled in OS but I'm a pathetic noob, could you explain the process a just little bit more?

If you do not write as an answer, then I know nothing of your post - I do not follow the thread.

All the descriptions below work ONLY if Source and Target mesh have the same vertices topology.

This is how you create a preset slider in OS.

Preparing to create a Preset slider:
Open OS. (for others as note: OS=Outfit Studio)
No new project, no reference - nothing.
Only - import the femalebody_1 nif from the mod. File -> Load Outfit or Import -> From Nif (is the same in this case).

Select the imported body-mesh.

Now click Slider-> New Slider.
Enter a Name for the new slider and click Ok.

The new slider is now available as slider - right in the list.

Activate the slider by mouse click.

Now click Slider -> Mask Affected Vertices.
Use the Brush Tool if necessary (the mesh should be completely masked - black)

Now click Slider -> Export Slider Data.
Obj or BSD really does not matter.
If you do not like edit the mesh with a 3d program (Max, Blender etc.), you can choose BSD.

Save it as MyFullShape.BSD on the Desktop - for example.
Close OS.

Use the new Preset Slider in your Body:
Open OS.

Load Reference and select your Body (CBBE etc.).

Select the imported Mesh (BaseShape).
Click on Slider -> New Slider.
Enter a name for the new slider and click Ok.
(The Name is used in Bodyslide.)

Activate the Slider by Click.
(the newe Slider is the last slider in slider list -right)

Now click Slider -> Import Slider Data
Choose the File type as previously exported. (in Example BSD)
Select your File - Desktop -> MyFullShape.bsd.
Click on OK.

Now (the slider is still activated) click on Slider -> Properies and set 0 for Min and Max values.
This are the Defaults for Weight 0 and weight 1 in Bodyslide.

Done.
The new slider is ready and functional.

File -> Save Project as...
If you do not want to overwrite your reference, then change at least the Display Name and the Shape Data File.

If only Display Name and the Shape Data File is renamed (do not click on "To Prject" button), then you have a new additional reference - very useful.

How to get slider in clothes / armors:

Open OS.
Click File -> Load Project -> Chose your Armor (Projects are in BodySlide/SliderSets folder)

If your Body project as new Reference available:

Load Reference -> choose your new body.
The BaseShape (if the armor has a baseShape) are replaced with your mesh and your sliders.

Deselect all Sliders by uncheck the De-/Select Sliders field (above the Slider list)
Scroll down and check your new slider. (only check - not activate)

Now select your armor mesh(es) -> click on Slider -> Confomr Selected.
The rest is standard routine.

If your Body NOT available as Reference:
- see the steps in "Use the new Slider in your Body" - is general the same prozedur for your BaseShape of your Armor.
This is also the method when your armor has ZapSlider.

Your slider is not active.

Activate the slider by mouse click. (the pencil icon left at the slider)

Now click Slider -> Mask Affected Vertices.
Use the Brush Tool if necessary (the mesh should be completely masked - black)

NCK30 and i currently try to make his body a preset in bodyslide. I have done all the steps except for the clothes / armor part and it works but from

here on its just big question mark.

What do i need to do to get a selectable slider preset for building the body?

All unifiedUnp.xml files seem to point to the bsd files. How can i create these?

What would be the best method to get his body working like the other UUNP

presets, with weight low/high sliders for body, hand and feet?

The meshes are all done, you can find it here.

Thanks

I don't quite understand the question, but I'll try to answer

- Open Outfit Studio
- Load the reference (the body that should get the preset/shape)
- Import the body nif whose shape you want to use as a preset.
- Select the reference body and use the sliders until the shape matches the imported body (as best as possible)
- With the sliders set click on Slider -> Save Preset

Now the preset should be available in Bodyslide.

Thanks, i will try that out.?

The question is, i followed all your steps from the post above and it works, but what then? How do i need to save

it, so it appear as a preset in the bodyslide main interface where i can build the body.

Like i said, the body from NCK30 is done. I can make a slider and import his body shape, it change smoothly from base shape

to his body when i move the slider. But from here on i have no idea how to save it, so it will appear as a buildable body preset in

bodyslide, just like all the other UUNP presets.

Edit:

Just a little info about the body. NCK30 sculpted it per hand, which makes it impossible to recreate it through sliders.

It might be helpful if you show pictures and describe what you intend to do.

Because "I can make a slider and import his body shape, it change smoothly from base shape

Simple. My friend and many others want to know, if You can take my body from below and make it into a Bodyslide preset that all can use.

I have sculpted this body via Outfit Studio without too much use of sliders.

We try to follow your guide from 2017 above. But when You say "The rest is routine" then we are at a loss.

Please tell us if it is possible. Maybe a thorough guide. Because I know next to nothing about Bodyslide.

I sculpt my outfits too without Bodyslide. But others wish to know...

I quote your tutorial. I made exactly this, without the last part about saving.

I recreated the NCK30 body now with this method, looks good so far, but its not perfect.

Things like his sculpted underboob area seems impossible to recreate with this method, the

first method from above would better.

First of all - Outfit Studio is more or less just the devkit for Bodyslide. So just different UI and tools.
This means that everything that works in Outfit Studio also works and exists in BodySlide.

Create BSD Files:
Select the appropriate slider and activate it.
Then in the menu: Slider -> Export Slider Data -> Export BSD. The screenshot shows an example of my high heel slider.

Sliders are available in Bodyslide when SAVED as a project.
In principle, the project file is an XML/OSD file with the entry of the slider and the corresponding BSD.

I'm assuming you've already created a slider in Outfit Studio. Then export the slider as BSD (as described above).

Then close Outfit Studio.

Open BodySlide and select the appropriate body (UUNP or whatever) under Outfit/Body.

Then open this bodyy as a project in Outfit Studio. To do this, click on the Outfit Studio icon at the top of BodySlide (to the left of the group filter).

In Outfit Studio select the Body Mesh and Menu: Slider -> New Slider. Give the slider a name (e.g. NCK30 Shape)
Select the new slider and activate it (pen icon).
Then menu: Slider -> Import Slider Data -> Import BSD -> select your previously saved BSD.

Leave the slider activated and press the Tab key.
The Slider Properties window opens and you should set the default values for Low to 0 and High to 0.

(If you set High to 1, the slider would always be automatically set to 100 with a body weight of 100.)

Close the Silder Properties window with OK.

Now menu: File -> Save Project as.
Leave all settings as they are in the next window and click on Save.

After closing and reopening BodySlide, there should now be a new slider for the body (UUNP or whatever) that has the name NCK30 Shape.

Since we saved the slider in the project of the reference body, this slider can now be transferred to an armor/clothing like any other slider using Outfit Studio.

To do this, select an armor in BodySlide and open it from there with the upper Outfit Studio icon in Outfit Studio.

In Outfit Studio click on menu: File -> Load Reference and select the body (UUNP or whatever).

This replaces the existing body and the sliders are also read in again from the reference body.

To transfer only the new slider, check De-/Select Sliders in the window on the right and scroll down to the slider NCK30 Shape.

Select and check this slider. Now menu: Slider -> Conform Selected (armor mesh must be selected)

Then, as usual, menu: File -> Save Project as. If the armor already had a body mesh, then check the Cope reference Shape into output box, otherwise leave it unchecked.

PS: Addendum: It is advisable to choose the folder of the corresponding body (UUNP or whatever) as the storage location of the BSD.
So Data\CalienteTools\BodySlide\ShapeData\xxxx

The problem was, i could not save the masked body as bsd file, it simply has not created any file.

So i saved it as a object file. Has probably something to do with the labia that was still in there, or with

the save destination. Whatever. Thanks for your great help andy, i will try that out.?

If you create an outfit this way, racemenu tattoos won't be visible. This problem seems to exist in any case where you replace the original body mesh. Do you know how to fix that?

I've literally created more than 500 outfits and armors like this - there was and is no problem with RaceMenu of any kind.

Im on it now since 4pm, how to deal with the labia that comes with the body. Seems it generate a separate obj file for the labia. Same for nails on hands and feet.

I make two sliders (low/high weight) for each ( body, hands, feet ). Is this correct so?

It still dont let me create BSD files, so must export it as obj files. Something about " Cant find folder path " ...

Edit: Guess i need delete the labia from NCK's body, and conform it (the labia) later in "loaded Project" Unified Unp Special with only NCKBody sliders ticked on huh?

Edit: It works. Conformed the labia later in unifiedUnp. The slider appears now in bodyslide correctly under:

Outfit/Body: UUNP Special and Preset: Zeroed Sliders

The low weight slider is also in there, but works only at right side (high weight) ^^

I've literally created more than 500 outfits and armors like this - there was and is no problem with RaceMenu of any kind.

Okay, I know you don't have to help more than you have already done, but if you can take a look at my project and see why literally no racemenu overlays works on it, it would be greatly appreciated. If I can get this to work I won't have to do every outfit manually.

Ok i figured it out. I must set the low slider on left side to 100% and then it changes correctly to low shape in preview.

Edit: Here ingame, it just works. ^^ Now i must build that hands and feets. Thanks again Andy. ?
