I have a vague memory that I did, but I didn't keep any proper records back then, so I don't know if I am remembering this correctly. Is it possible to replace Steam.exe with a dummy file, that is one that doesn't really do anything but is a valid executable, so that MO will think that Steam has been launched successfully? I mean, exiting Steam while playing exits Skyrim as well, but is either the game or MO making sure that steam.exe is actually the right steam.exe? Anyway, what is steam.exe doing? I mean, after I had forced Steam to stay offline, I noticed that the computer had become slower, and upon investigating I noticed that a large amount of memory resources was being used by one of the svchost.exe processes that couldn't be turned off without crashing the system. I don't have enough computer knowledge to find out what exactly is this particular instance of svchost.exe doing and what is causing it to run and how to get rid of it. Has anyone had that kind of a problem? i think the host thing is a way for you to get onto the network I had to install ebscohost for my math program for college a few years back to work what it did was enabled me to access school tools from home. All I know is if you f with certain things you can crash your system and have to restart computer to fix it. I don't know if things can be permanently broken but I would fiddle if I don't know what it is.

I can't use mo because its physical memory intensive and locks my computer up so I went back to nmm I'm testing the crack I have. I think the computer has gotten to old to run steam and skyrim to because the last little bit here over the coarse of 2016 the computer has been running like dog shit despite my restoring and redo several times. So for now I'm going to be a naughty girl and play the crack till I get a new computer. My husband just got a good job so hopefully that will be soon then I can play with my steam mods again. I think this computer is on its last leg. So this last year has been a combination of my computer pooping out on me and bad installs with sexlab add-ons. Edit: I'm sold on mod organizer. Its a great tool the only draw back is that it takes a bit longer and more steps to set things up.

An SSD helps but it isn't entirely necessary for a stable game. Bashed patch merged patch and matorsmash if you can learn it would be better. Crashed fixes works.Regardless of what others say about it.

Tinkering Solderbro Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 With latest SL skyrim32 become a bit unstable, with ZAZ addon much more. Every opened door can cause a CTD, every first savegame load result to instant CTD, second load suddenly works. With 2600 anims in FNIS even papyrus is maxed out over the bottom, going to sleep means 120 seconds of heavy harddisk activity until the hourglas start with sleeping. Have used nearby all tweaks and tipps to make it a bit more stable, but seems to be impossible. Even with a new char starting from zero..... Something is much above the limit, remind to the Nehrim conversion that overstrained oblivion into the same problems. Only one tipp is to save save save save.....
khumak Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 If the instability is caused by number of animmations it might be nice to have an option to filter out the ones we like the best and keep those but block the others til the number is down to a stable amount. I can play fine with it as is but I did notice a significant increase in CTDs after installing Sexlab. Prior to sexlab I could usually play for 8 hours or more with no crashes. Now I frequently CTD before I get to the load screen and I frequently crash when resting. I think I only have around 1600 animations active if I remember last time I ran FNIS. I don't use any of the creature stuff or the devices.

Btw the plugin also to force ENB to be reduced to 32 bit, what lower the effeciency and available graphic memory too. Logfile: 07 Jan 13:38:07 Skyrim has crashed while setting up FootIK. Some things you can try to fix this problem:1. Reduce the amount of installed animations.2. Try reload the save until it works. So the problem are within to many animations, while nearby all tiny mods using sexlab force a depend on ZAZ what results to above 2k of animations. Skyrim runs more stable without ZAZ, papyrus react faster but all the tiny mods with the hard depend have to go. Suggestion 1: Make a ZAZ that replace sexlab animations instead of stacking them up Suggestion 2: Remove the hard depend to ZAZ in the mods But these are only my two cents, no religion, using sexlab and mods forcing ZAZ too results to many side effects. So i use the overloaded skyrim32 for sexlab and skyrim special for stable gaming. A bit funny situation that you see on computers and mobile phones too, where the producers create huge firmwares to lull the hardware for selling new devices

You have to FIX the issues in FNIS (errors AND warnings), not just run it. If you can't figure out what the issue in FNIS is then post the TEXT from the FNIS output box, we've helped hundreds of people with that and are pretty good now at recognizing the problem.

I learned that to achieve stable gameplay it mostly meant installing my mods in a specific order to avoid conflicts, when to overwrite stuff & not to. I did eventually hit that sweet spot. Although I was only limited to 4gb of VRAM which had problems of itself because I was on win 10. Newrim fixes that issue for me, but many of the mods aren't converted for it yet.

Actually I had never heard of it before, I had to look it up. I downloaded TESV ESS and checked out my last save and it says I have 50661 strings under Papyrus. I also opened my first save in Abandoned Prison and that one has 48244 strings. So I think that means in my case, number of strings is not an issue for me. Out of curiousity I also loaded up a previous game from before I installed any Sexlab stuff and that one had about 47000 strings. So for me it looks like Sexlab plus my Sexlab mods adds over 3000 strings and according to FNIS the only mods I have that are adding animations are Sexlab Framework and Defeat. So I could see how people who add lots of extra animations would have issues. What is the fix you mentioned by the way other than uninstalling script/animation heavy mods? Edit: After looking around a bit more I think I already have a fix installed without knowing it. I use crash fixes by meh321 and it seems to include a fix for the string overflow issue. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725/?

The problem I'm having with osa osex is in my log I have read is normal since the author updated but didn't add certain animations in yet to the main. I was reading online that this actually isn't a problem that its all benign osex stuff. I've been running it like this on 2 different games and never had an issue. I did this with mod organizer and had the same issue in fnis just no issue in game. WaxenFigure Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 So I've been playing around in osa and I have purple save in wrye I wrote an xml profile for a character and now I'm stuck in a partial t pose no matter how many times I run fnis. this blows goats. You have to FIX the issues in FNIS (errors AND warnings), not just run it. If you can't figure out what the issue in FNIS is then post the TEXT from the FNIS output box, we've helped hundreds of people with that and are pretty good now at recognizing the problem. The problem I'm having with osa osex is in my log I have read is normal since the author updated but didn't add certain animations in yet to the main. I was reading online that this actually isn't a problem that its all benign osex stuff. I've been running it like this on 2 different games and never had an issue. I did this with mod organizer and had the same issue in fnis just no issue in game. Have either of you considered the Strings table problem? Have either of you installed the fix for it? Actually I had never heard of it before, I had to look it up. I downloaded TESV ESS and checked out my last save and it says I have 50661 strings under Papyrus. I also opened my first save in Abandoned Prison and that one has 48244 strings. So I think that means in my case, number of strings is not an issue for me. Out of curiousity I also loaded up a previous game from before I installed any Sexlab stuff and that one had about 47000 strings. So for me it looks like Sexlab plus my Sexlab mods adds over 3000 strings and according to FNIS the only mods I have that are adding animations are Sexlab Framework and Defeat. So I could see how people who add lots of extra animations would have issues. What is the fix you mentioned by the way other than uninstalling script/animation heavy mods? Edit: After looking around a bit more I think I already have a fix installed without knowing it. I use crash fixes by meh321 and it seems to include a fix for the string overflow issue. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725/? Ok, that eliminates one possible problem but FYI starting a run with 50K strings means you may exceed 64k before you finish.

You have to FIX the issues in FNIS (errors AND warnings), not just run it. If you can't figure out what the issue in FNIS is then post the TEXT from the FNIS output box, we've helped hundreds of people with that and are pretty good now at recognizing the problem. The problem I'm having with osa osex is in my log I have read is normal since the author updated but didn't add certain animations in yet to the main. I was reading online that this actually isn't a problem that its all benign osex stuff. I've been running it like this on 2 different games and never had an issue. I did this with mod organizer and had the same issue in fnis just no issue in game. Have either of you considered the Strings table problem? Have either of you installed the fix for it? Actually I had never heard of it before, I had to look it up. I downloaded TESV ESS and checked out my last save and it says I have 50661 strings under Papyrus. I also opened my first save in Abandoned Prison and that one has 48244 strings. So I think that means in my case, number of strings is not an issue for me. Out of curiousity I also loaded up a previous game from before I installed any Sexlab stuff and that one had about 47000 strings. So for me it looks like Sexlab plus my Sexlab mods adds over 3000 strings and according to FNIS the only mods I have that are adding animations are Sexlab Framework and Defeat. So I could see how people who add lots of extra animations would have issues. What is the fix you mentioned by the way other than uninstalling script/animation heavy mods? Edit: After looking around a bit more I think I already have a fix installed without knowing it. Ok, that eliminates one possible problem but FYI starting a run with 50K strings means you may exceed 64k before you finish. Okay so bare in mind. Right now I'm just trying to get osa to recognize a profile xml edit: I played with file structure enough in osa and got profile to show up finally in game still could changing the file structure have cuase issues in ctd I was add in xml to my player character. So the created folder extension I made was pc inside osa persona so pc> name> files and I was playing with the folder name to see if it needed a space in it to show up in game. pain in the ass that was. It took forever how many load between last night and now to show up. Can changing the xml profile for my character in osa piss fnis off thus causing the partial freeze?

Maybe I misread how the crash fixes mod changes things but I thought it essentially changed the strings variable in the save file from a 16 bit number to a 32 bit number? If so, then the new cap on strings is 4.2 billion. So some other issue "should" cause me to crash long before reaching that.

The two known work arounds are to load a save game you know works first and then the save game with the problem after that (I always kept save game #1 around for just that purpose until the patch was created), second work around is to open the console from the load game screen, enter "coc qasmoke" to "start" the game in the qasmoke cell and then load the problematic save game after that. Your FNIS output looked just fine, except all the horrible incompleteness invoked by OSex. You can simply not press the button to check for inconsistencies when you run FNIS until that's fixed or even afterwards since unless someone does something silly like installing a patch for a mod without first installing the mod itself I've never seen a real problem being identified using that. Understand having a weak computer, my older machine didn't run nearly a nicely with Skyrim as my current machine. Of course my current machine is several years old now too but it's still good for Skyrim.

So I'll see how that goes.
goetia99 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I would recommend you to watch gamer poets videos, they helped me a lot but it took me a while to understand many things but my game is pretty stable 2-3 hours nonstop with my loadorder almost at its limit (I had to learn how to merge plug ins to increase even more my load order). Also my pc specs aren't something special to be honest something "average " I would say, but again, I highly advise you to watch those videos.
gurugeorge Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Didn't go through the whole thread, so if this general advice (which I've learned the hard way) has been said already, I apologize. MO is an absolutely fantastic tool that enables you to play Skyrim while modding Skyrim: pure gold. Gone are the days of completely screwing up your game and having no idea how to get it working again, and consequently not being able to play, for days or weeks, the game you've been enthralled by, while you figure out what the hell went wrong. But there are two major pitfalls in the learning curve of MO that can get you back stuck in modding hell if you're not careful:- 1) Overwrite must always be clear, in every profile. That means, soon as something pops up in Overwrite in a profile, make a mod out of it specific to that profile and relevant to whatever spat it out (e.g. FNIS, Bodyslide, etc.) 2) You often need to make several copies of a given mod for the left pane, named appropriately per Profile. For example, weather mods, lighting mods and body mods are usually quite choosy wrt what other mods they play with. That means, if you have only one copy of the mod, the way it's set up in the Profile you first set it up in it might work in that Profile, with the other mods that Profile has, but not in another. So the idea, when this happens, is to be aware of how mods play with each other, and to reinstall and rename COPIES of the more complex mods that have different setup requirements depending on what other mods they're interacting with. Once you get these two basic rules down pat, the power of MO is yours - you can have umpteen Profiles with umpteen completely different setups, some with a broken Skyrim, and instantly you can go back to the Profile you're playing your main ongoing game that you love, with full confidence that it'll fire up properly and the Profile will be exactly the same as the last time you played it, no matter what else you've been doing in other Profiles. And that means you can test setups in other Profiles, and gradually add the good stuff to your ongoing game, enriching it as you go.
