arpaschad Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Unless these so called aliens actually make an appearance in public worldwide, you can only trust so much on the tin-foil-hat brigade and the so-called scientists...imagine the things getting fucked up when that happens...organized religion, etc...
winny257 Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 why would aliens come to earth? that would be stupid as heck (hell+fuck=heck) To enslave us and take our resources? Enslaves would be still merciful. Or we (humans) are for the aliens a small snack in between!
Myst42 Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 So there's Hundreds of Thousands of scientists world-wide, cooperating and fiercely competing to provide the best possible knowledge of the world, using such methods as radio carbon dating and so on. And you take a look and go like "Nah, I'll ignore them because I want to believe that I'm super-smart and important and know better than them." That's arrogant and delusional, no better than - indeed the same mechanism of lying to yourself as - religious people who decide to hide from the harsh reality of life by believing in mumbo jumbo about an afterlife and bearded men in the skies. And the claim that you have "no way of being sure" who is correct, given the choice between a bunch of lunatics with Youtube channels who make up bullshit about Ancient Egypt, and all the world's universities and their researchers, is either totally ridiculous or utterly stupid. You might just as well start believing that Sun Myong Moon is Jesus' latest reincarnation or that Ms. Merkel caused the Syrian Crisis in order to replace ethnic Germans with Africans on order of the Rothshilds or something. And there it is! The science zealot reaction as mostly anticipated Believe whatever you want and leave me be with my "arrogant, delusional, ridiculous and stupid youtube mumbo jumbo" (who said anything about youtube btw?) In my opinion these "hundreds of amazing scientists world wide" are all part of a system. A system that educates people into thinking a certain way and embracing certain points of view. Doesnt mean they're "evil" ot thay they're all in leage as part of large shadowy archaeologist conspiracy. Neither does it mean that ALL of them have their heads stuck up ther butts, some of them are actually nice intelligent thinking people. It just means that they are shaped to think a certain way, just like lawyers or doctors... the system educates people and they are shaped by it. And that way is CRAWLING with academic ego and people who think they have all the answers. I might be "arrogant and delusional" but at least I have the humility to recognize that I dont have all the answers in the universe and that theres always more to be discovered. But I'm just a delusional lunatic like you people like to call everything that thinks different. *Deep sigh* You're not gonna listen to me because I'm an insane delusional lunatic, and I'm not gonna listen to you because you want to sound like one of those high tier academic know it alls that refuse to believe anything that doesnt suit their dogmas - Just like religious fanatics - So we're both wasting out time. And I'll just drop this here and wish you farewell Please dont quote me again, I dont want to talk to you anymore, you're offensive and disrespectful. -Peace
Jazzman Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Unless these so called aliens actually make an appearance in public worldwide, you can only trust so much on the tin-foil-hat brigade and the so-called scientists...imagine the things getting fucked up when that happens...organized religion, etc... Nothing lasts forever, and that goes for comfortable ideas traded over generations as well. Fundamental shifts in our understanding of things are inevitable and when they happen it is always a cultural shock. However, people are pretty much capable to adapt to changing conditions. Flexibility and adaptability are successful human survival skills, and that also goes for any believer in anything. So, I don't fear for 'organized religion', under pressure it always molts perfectly adapted to the new day, not unlike a reptile. Which brings me to your tin-foil-hat brigade. There's another strange movement out there that just loves to go out into the driest desert on Earth, probably the last place an alien visitor would ever investigate on a water planet, the Atacama over here, just to find the truth of all truths and hopefully meet the alien gods of technology, or to get dried mush for brains within hours, the moment when one indeed sees everything one has ever longed for, that is. The worship of wishful thinking, human longings and fears, is a decisive pillar in the Age of Stupid, at least acc. to Bertrand Russell, the famous guy with the suggested tea pot on a stationary orbit between Mars and Earth. We'll see. Now what 'so-called' scientists are I can hardly tell, but what self-proclaimed 'experts' are, that is widely known from News commentaries. Have fun and remember, nobody goes out into the unknown alone, ever.
