A Post Nuclear World

Their games are not meant to be taken serious because they are not people who can take their writing skills serious. Realism or fantasy, doesn't matter. It still has to make sense in the direction it is going. If you make a brainless game with no fundamental background, it's more of a kids game who just wants to point and laugh at things because it's meant to be funny and not serious. These games were not meant for adults. These games were not meant for the rated M player.

Really dude?  I mean seriously, the games are not meant for mature players? *palms face*

The original Fallouts were campy/pulp/stupid but they were geared to adult players.  The Bethesda versions try at humor (FO3 being the rauchy best, while NV is just nasty and gross) but FO4 just goddamn fails at implying anything 'adult' other than drugs, curse words and really bad dismemberment mechanics.

The games are for adults but Bethesda treats their fan base like they are easily entertained children.  Meh, looking at the current crop of Bethesda fans they are probably right.

K2, I was talking about the modern Beth Fallouts. Not Fallout 1 and 2 (and even FNV for that matter). My argument was more towards Fallotu 3 and 4.

I for one don't like the imo childish approach to a post-nuclear world to understand reality 'cause if there is a Hell, you might wanna go there for some R & R after a tour through the Wasteland. Out there beyond that fence every still living thing that crawls, flies, or squats in the mud would want to kill you and eat your eyes for jujubes. Period. Consequently I take the Fallout series as a mere two-, now three-dimensional Hollywood adventure for the lone Mad Max avenger inside and the resident evil outside - pure fictive entertainment. And I just love entertainment.

Actually, when the first nuclear bombs (and the last I hope) were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagazaki, pretty much everything was destroyed/burned beyond repair in a wide area. And the zone was unliveable for maybe ten years. Now ? Peoples can live/love in those zones and there is a lot of green foliage.

As for Fukushima or Chernobil, that's another story. Those two cases won't live such catastrophic "kaboom", but soils are poisoned for centuries.

This is why the fallout universe is not accutate at all, pure fiction.

We thankfully also don't know how our world would look like if several hundreds or thousand of atomic bombs would go off all around the world. You can't really compare chernobyl or hiroshima to an atomic world war. Still, you are right when you say that fallout is pure fiction. Everyone should know that radiation and viruses don't turn you into infertile and ugly superhumans.
