Elgate Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 I think I may have some trouble with my mods. My character maximum health is consistently lowering. I am literally dying from it. Yesterday, I was at 295 without being horny (boost of 100) and now on one of my save I am at 195 while horny and on my most recent save I am at 23 without horny. It's impossible to play, I have a buff from Soul gem Oven that increase my health that reset every 20 sec. Thus, every 20 secs, my character fall because my maximum health get below 0. spoonsinger Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 You could try 'player.setav health <a number you think you should have>' at the console and see if it decreases after that. (Mind removing stuff mid game is never a good idea regardless of what the 'them' say).
Guest Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Go in third person view. open the console. Click on your character, be sure you have the Shift key pressed, and go on Active Magic Effects. Find the ones that are applied to your character. If you spot one that can be the culprit, find it using the "help" command in the console, and then find which mod is adding it.
Elgate Posted August 6, 2016 Author Posted August 6, 2016 You could try 'player.setav health <a number you think you should have>' at the console and see if it decreases after that. (Mind removing stuff mid game is never a good idea regardless of what the 'them' say). I used the command to set my health to 100. I end up with 124 from 22 It seems there is no actual magical effect ongoing. My base health is just lower for some reason. I'll try to take back an older save and see if I can work my way back to that point. After a quick check, I should have 260 base HP. I set up my health, and I'll see how it goes. Go in third person view. open the console. Click on your character, be sure you have the Shift key pressed, and go on Active Magic Effects. Find the ones that are applied to your character. If you spot one that can be the culprit, find it using the "help" command in the console, and then find which mod is adding it. Already did that. There is absolutely no ongoing effect (eve hidden) that has a negative value, much less a value big enough to reach 200 (The amount of Hp I should have at least)
Guest Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Then probably you have a running script on the player (or on an Alias attached to the player) that is causing that. Just a dumb question. Is your character a Vampire at 4th level, and you are going around with the sun-light?

But as you don't have a constant magical effect doing this, it would suggest a script is doing it. So you could use 'grep' or a similar text search function on all your script source files and look for 'health'. Then see if any of the popped up code would do the thing you are experiencing. (Mind this won't be much use if the original modders provided the .pex files but no script files).

Is your character a Vampire at 4th level, and you are going around with the sun-light? I once got sanginare vampiris but I used a potion of cure disease (still told me once that I felt thirsty before I used it) You're making me doubt. I'll double check. You could try 'player.setav health <a number you think you should have>' at the console and see if it decreases after that. But I'm confident I could learn it. I'll see what I can find on the subject. Do you know any good tutorial by any chance?

Shouldn't be difficult then. I'll check if I can see anything. By the way, what's the extension of the script? And in what folder are they usually stored? "[skyrim repository]/data/script" ? what the usual path from the data folder. Edit: I think I found the repositor name. I checked in SGO, but the file are all *.pex I guess that's the righ extension. The file aren't easy to read, but I found an occurence of "GetBaseActorValue [NUL][ACK] Health [NUL][DC1] RestoreActorValue [NUL][bEL] Stamina" Not very clear, but it seems this one gets the value, but I don't see it modifying it. Edit2: Opened notepad++, Search->search in file-> filter: *.pex ->word to search: health Am I doing it the right way? 232 hits. Already collapsed the part about mods I am not currently using.
myuhinny Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Have you tried checking and seeing if it's devious devices. I know I have seen people have problems before. There was one last night after you posted yours and it turned out to be caused by devious devices. http://www.loverslab.com/topic/65386-healh-value-bug/ Have you tried starting a new game to see if it's still present in your new game. If it's gone then you know something in your save got borked if it's still there in a new game then you will know that it is a mod causing it. Have you also tried making a copy of your save file and then running the save file through a save cleaner to see if there are any leftover scripts in your save file causing the problem.

The script sources have extension .psc. Checking the .pex files (that are the compiled scripts) is useless. The scripts are stored in [skyrim install folder]\Data\Scripts\Source\ And, no, you are not doing it the right way because you are searching in the compiled scripts. You should search in the source files. If you have Notepad++, just open the search tool, click on the third tab (Search in files), then use as search work "health" (including the double quotes before and after), set the search directory to be the one where the source files are ([skyrim install folder]\Data\Scripts\Source\) and maybe also set a file filter like *.psc
Elgate Posted August 7, 2016 Author Posted August 7, 2016 Thanks for the information. Here's a list of the mods I found that have the word "health" clearly stated in their script (found with Notepad++ search in files function) This list has been cleared with only mods I am actively using. Unused mods (unchecked mods in mod organizer) are already cleaned Format: [modName];[scriptName](nbOfHits);[nextScriptName](nbOfHits);... Need more precise research, but here's the gist of it. The problem is probably in one of them. Really? Shouldn't be difficult then. I'll check if I can see anything. By the way, what's the extension of the script? And in what folder are they usually stored? "[skyrim repository]/data/script" ? what the usual path from the data folder. Not everything though, but It still alow to know if these mod use that information.Edit: Ok after trying with your method, CCAS seems to have an effect to damage the actor value health, but nothing to restore it.
TDA Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 maybe this is Marked for Death bug... I had companions that imposed at me a huge reduction of the protection (accidentally - several times in the battle ~ -4000).
Elgate Posted August 7, 2016 Author Posted August 7, 2016 maybe this is Marked for Death bug... I had companions that imposed at me a huge reduction of the protection (accidentally - several times in the battle ~ -4000). None of my companion are using shouts. Also, If I'm right, only the Armor penalty is permanent. Not the health loss.

Edit: Ok after trying with your method, CCAS seems to have an effect to damage the actor value health, but nothing to restore it. To have a more limited result, you may want to search for: SetActorValue("health" and SetAV("health" Be sure you do NOT close the parenthesis in the search string. This because "health", in case it is just read, it is not important.
