yeah and ants too, WTH?? why do we not have ants?!?!?! AAAARRRGGGGG :D jk

You have ants. Look at the cut tree trunks all over the place, on many you'll find ants.

But back on topic, snakes would be really cool addition to the warmer parts of Skyrim without being non-lore friendly. Many snake species in winter go underground and hibernate until spring. Though, animating snake movement will be a pain in the ass.

The reason why there are no snakes in skyrim is because everything for them would have to be made from scratch. A skeleton would have to be made which would take the longest and be the hardest to do then a snake model would have to be made then you would have to have someone that can make a bunch of animations for it.

All is needed are a few movement and attack animations; should look closely into FarCry 3 to see how snakes function in that game.

Actually, spikedragonlord and I are working on snakes as part of one of our many mods.  Don't know when we'll get them released.  We do have one version that uses the "grounded" dragon animations to make it look like a snake.

Into which orifice? :P

Certainly left myself open for that!  And I think possibly again..

Well, snakes were made for Morrowind if I remember correctly. Could be done for Skyrim probably. I would love to spawn hundreds of hissing snakes.
