BoozeJunky Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 yes but if the best once dissapears. it will halt allot of mods especially tools making like skse etc.. The new once will have to adept there attitude or else they too will dissapear if there mods get stolen like the other modders. I am not sure how this will make modding a happy ending knowing before hand that you need to accept that people will just steal your mods. maybe we will see allot of stuf never released again unless it is youtube video showcasing a private mod.Well its always going to happen regardless of any whining and storming out that occurs, the best modders 10 years ago aren't necessarily the best today and todays best probably won't be the best tomorrow and if quitting modding is their thing its their choice. I kind of wonder if Bethesda isn't counting on that as a way to sneak paid mods back into being a thing. Create a wedge between consumers and creators, drive the creators off, and then cultivate a new crop of creators who are already open to the idea of modding for money - with a community that is hungry - demanding - for content, no matter where it comes from or how it was acquired. Or maybe they won't bring back "paid mods" insomuch as it was tried before, but they'll institute a subscription fee to help pay for server maintenance. Bethesda games have some of the longest lifespans in the industry. Skyrim is still keeping near parity with FO4 in terms of playerbase. They'd be fools to not try to monetize that longevity somehow, especially if someone gets a bug up their ass and becomes convinced that they're losing profit by competing against themselves.
CanadianBlueBeer Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Well, the steam account linking is supposedly live. They are giving a bit of a grace period for older versions of CK though. At least they got the linking in before PS4 mods go live. (which we can upload now btw) hmm, grace period == honey trap?
Guest Katherlne Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 I don't want to start console vs pc war again... But after read all comments on stealing mod, i can say for sure - console peasants is exist. Not all of them, but most of them...

To upload to bethnet does the Steam account have to have a registered FO4 purchase? Because if not then they would just be banning fake/decoy accounts which does nothing- why aren't they banning ip addresses (for fucks sake tumblr lets us ban ip addresses)?
Guest Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 yes but if the best once dissapears. it will halt allot of mods especially tools making like skse Well SKSE will never go to consoles, I was pretty goddamn sure but gopher locked it down to & I quote "99.9% sure" it won't happen. So they can't sexlab or race menu (which you pretty much need for CBBE & UNP on the Skyrim spectrum). Same goes for the soon to come advanced F4se.

Just for giggles, make a Fallout mod called Skyrim Keyring Set Extension or whatever, as long as it shortens to SKSE. Release it on consoles, and see some of the kids there go crazy wondering why SexTec still won't work when they install that.

CK then checks that. banning IP would hurt for folks using VPN, college networks, etc.
E_Nigma Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Bethesda are implementing Steam account linking, so in order to upload mods you have to link your Beth.net account to your Steam account and have a valid FO4 key. Once that is implemented, if you get banned for stealing mods you'll need to purchase a new copy of FO4 to be an uploader again. This should really cut down the level of mod theft, at least to Steam Workshop levels. For now, we the modding community just need to be vigilant and report every stolen mod we see. Well if you could link all that to your Nexus this thing could be wrapped up pdq

If they have a computer that can download a mod and then upload it to BethNet so it can be downloaded to their consoles. Some, perhaps most, of the mod thieves are PC users, who are so pathetic that they have to steal others work and claim it as their own. yes but if the best once dissapears. it will halt allot of mods especially tools making like skseWell SKSE will never go to consoles, I was pretty goddamn sure but gopher locked it down to & I quote "99.9% sure" it won't happen. If they're stupid enough to not learn what's really needed and then bitch about something not working, they deserve the aggravation.

Some, perhaps most, of the mod thieves are PC users, who are so pathetic that they have to steal others work and claim it as their own. You need a PC version of FO4 to use the CK, which you need to tick the 'useable on consoles' option and upload it to beth.net. I wouldn't call someone who owns FO4 for PC a console user. I also very highly doubt that someone who plays on console buys FO4 for PC just so that person can download mods from the nexus and upload them on beth.net. There might be some people who a crazy like that, but those would be the absolute minority.

Really they can only copy it not actually steal it unless you give them access to your hard drive...............

All mod thieves really are just pathetic little tools who desperately crave validation.

Like always. Beth.net just gives them a platform and a very large audience to play their little game, but they're always the same guys and gals - people on PC who can't do shit to save their lives and instead rely on other people's work to get that tiny bit of e-fame they so desperately crave.
