Jerbsinator Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 So what's the story on this? Apparently the forum is trying to be more friendly to new users and using uncensored avatars is forbidden. So my question is, why is it not enforced? it feels like I am being unfairly mistreated because there are others that have uncensored avatars and they haven't been removed and yet my avatar gets removed and then I get pm'ed about it. I am ok with this rule (sure it sucks but whatever) but if I am the only one that is forced to do it that seems a little unfair.
Ashal Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=596 It's been in the rules since 05/01, I always make a new post in the rules thread so people can see something has been edited about them. It's about removing our adult footprint which is out in the open to unregistered users, aka users who haven't opted in to see that kind of content and potential minors. As the site grows so does potential for legal trouble or the web server host yanking the site offline due to content. May also notice we're no longer using shady adult ads, this is only possible as a result. Also makes the site browseable from work, which is a concern for some people.
Jerbsinator Posted May 17, 2012 Author Posted May 17, 2012 Ya I found it in the rules, which is why I removed that part from my post. But that still doesn't change the fact that there is still people that have uncensored avatars around. The rule itself doesn't bother me, but when I can still see uncensored avatars everywhere, it makes it feel like I am being punished while everyone else is getting off.
Ashal Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I have been removing all avatars as I see them, not just yours. If your seeing some I'm not, would much appreciate a PM of said users. I don't browse much outside of the general boards anymore.
Iris86 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 mine showed nothing, still it got removed...that's why i replaced it with a drawing i made... now i need to change my catchphrase also, btw, did anyone knows how to change my nickname?
thesapien Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I noticed the new rule after already changing my avatar, lucky me. I changed mine probably for similar reasons as the site as a whole, after imagining what causal visitors and regulars have on their screen when they might be in public or browsing from school or who knows. After reading this thread, just checked what ads are showing by using IE, much better, too! It'll be easier to recommend and link to this site from others like youtube where people's backgrounds and ages are a wash. Maybe Nexus will be more likely to link to LL, now??? Well, at least, they have less of a reason to not do so.
Kashked Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 The original "problem" with nexus still stands, mods that are against their rules are posted here.
MonicaAngelBlade Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Maybe Nexus will be more likely to link to LL, now??? Well, at least, they have less of a reason to not do so. More chance of an extreme Islamic fundamentalist hugging a christian than that happening o.O

caperpp Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I got banned on nexus cause I said I don't use steam :/
Guest Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I got banned on nexus cause I said I don't use steam :/ You must be joking. There had to be more to it. Although I'm not too suprised.

O_O Like The Mad God say's It must have been for some reason other than "I don't use steam" I've always used the PC DvD version of GOTY but so far I've never been banned for doing so.
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 My guess is they thought he used a cracked version that was setup to not need to login to steam to work or something.
MonicaAngelBlade Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Hmm, I installed SKSE correctly, and don't say I didn't because the script files say SKSE is loaded, I can turn into a dragon, but not fly, I can move, and use flames, but nothing else. I do not have steam installed if that helps, would you like a list of my installed mods? You may have SKSE installed properly, but obviously not Skyrim itself. Legal versions require Steam. Go ask for support from whatever site you got your stolen copy. --TNL That's why he got banned.. Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 So either they're being agressive as fuck about pirates, or they're being assholes to people that HATE steam and don't want to use it. Yeah theyre fucking themselves.

People should know by now the slightest mention of piracy, even in jest on Nexus and it's goodbye account

caperpp Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 But, yeah. I had been on nexus for two years, because I had bought Oblivion and made an account for it.
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I'd almost be tempted to PM you for where you got your copy, but considering that that thread STILL has people bitching about bethesda's inability to make shit work........ naw, it wont even (to me) be worth even PIRATING for another year or so at this rate. Unless a unoffical fan patch comes out that fixes mostly everything like it did for oblivion, and it beats the Bethesda patch. That may actually make the game worth pirating.... or buying even, considering how much better fan patches tend to be.
thesapien Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I'm glad I didn't wait. Great game. I'm struggling to remember any bugs that I experienced. The only one I recall was a couple of times a mammoth didn't drop when loaded, stayed floating in the sky, but it didn't break my game. I've had more bugs with my official version of ME3, yet I don't hear about BioWare being more buggy than the majority of devs. Admittedly, I don't play enough games to have a good standard for what is considered buggy and what is polished. Edit: Talking vanilla game, of course, and not bugs from mods.
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Well lets put it this way: Bethesda has a history of the same bugs occurring game after game, because they don't bother to fix them.

I have a legal copy of Skyrim but it doesn't run through steam, why? because running as well as Skyrim just eats more computer resources. Sometimes Nexus doesn't think before they ban people.
